We booked the superior one bedroom apartment for three nights. The location of the ‘resort’ is fantastic with an easy walk along the waterfront into town and the apartment was of a nice size. Unfortunately the great things stopped there. The bed was horrible and the two toppers that had been placed on top before being made did not help the cheap mattress that was rock hard. We went and purchased our own topper to try and help with our nights sleep and sore backs. When we arrived there had been painting done and the room stunk of paint fumes for the first night. The apartment was showing a lot of signs of wear and tear especially the carpets which had bare patches and rusted chair legs outside which didn’t look safe to sit on. Wouldn’t recommend the shower for anyone of a decent height. I would advise that there are many better places to stay in Whitianga within the same price range.

We had booked x1 1 bedroom ground floor, and x2 1bedroom apartment with balcony. I must say it was such a beautiful stay. Such clean and neat rooms. We could see the sea as well from the balcony. Kitchen has necessary equipments, cutleries. Bed and pillows were comfy, even the sofa bed is comfortable. There is a fan to use in summer as well. Stairs to the top floor have rails. There is a selfservice laundry, coin operated. Pool is clean. And very friendly staff. Worth the price, and recommend +++ P.s it is not waterfront, it is Beachside (as named) and I wouldn't think it is falsely advertised of name. No regrets at all for what we paid, and I reckon it was a bargain for a long weekend stay. Thank you team 😊

Beachside resort is 2 min walk from the beach and a few minutes from the spa. Reasonable value for money. It is more like a one bedroom furnished apartment. It is clean. Easy checking process. Comfortable stay. There is a fan but no air condition. Overall we enjoyed staying here and would consider it again. I have rated 5 for this range hotels.

Although centrally located and walking distance to restaurants the standard of cleaning was far below our expectation. We have stayed at this Motel on a previous occasion and found it good. However on this occasion the condition of the room was well below standard. Numerous stains on the carpet in the lounge, drapes marked and filthy. We had received correspondence from the motel prior to our arrival highlighting the high level of cleaning undertaken with Covid 19, this was definitely not apparent in the unit that we stayed in. Would not stay here again in the future.

We were excited to come to a new place and have family time out. But disappointed with our room. Room had no air conditioning, bed was hard, no privacy from road, water pressure was poor on shower & room needs updating. On the upside the pool is great. Great location as close to beach & shops.

Check-in was friendly and efficient. The accommodation was a spacious apartment style with separate kitchen, living room with balcony and bedroom/bathroom. Partial view of beach. Comfortable and good value

I was expecting more from this property. It is not “beachside” although very close. Our room had a beach view but most rooms didn’t. Property looks new but rooms didn’t give that impression. Furniture was worn, bed was very uncomfortable, sleeping on the couch was better. Room had a musty smell and bathroom needed a good clean. Lounge furniture had a rug covering it because under it the upholstery was torn. Stairway to the second floor was not under cover so when it rained the steps were wet. We had been out for the morning and returned later. Room had not been serviced which was not a problem as we saw staff still working in other rooms. We had a knock at the door to see if they could service room. I said we will be gone again in 5 minutes which she said was ok. A few minutes later another person knocked and said “can we leave these towels here as we are finishing work”. With that she was gone and we didn’t see housekeeping again! Overall a disappointing stay and over priced for what we got.

Firstly the good stuff: the room was neat and tidy. The unit was nicely decorated and there was a glimpse of the ocean between the front buildings. Oh, and the location is great. Just a few minutes walk to the nearest cafes. However...we had been warned by the receptionist they'd had complaints about the slow internet. Well 'slow' is an understatement. We gave up trying to use the WiFi as it took forever to load. So on this wild and rainy night we thought we'd settle in for some TV. We were really annoyed to find there was no SkyTV. On checking out the next morning we mentioned to the receptionist about the useless WiFi and the lack of Sky TV. She told us the Beachside units didn't have Sky TV. When we pointed out to her the Beachside brochure lists Sky TV as an amenity, she then turned to her co-worker and said, "they couldn't get their Sky to work". Huh?! You just told us there was no Sky TV, now you're saying we couldn't get it working? How could we get Sky to work if there was no Sky decoder or remote? We were not given any sort of apology. We left feeling angry about our stay and we felt deceived. It was rather costly at the Beachside, around $80 more than we paid at the previous night's motel. Guests don't mind paying a bit extra as long as they get good amenities. We will not be returning.

Hi Thankyou for your feedback. We do apologize and we are upset you had a bad experience. We have since found we do have Sky (no box required) and for some reason beyond our knowledge it was not connected to this room. Sky was disabled when covid hit and when it was enabled again this Apartment was overlooked. This has now been rectified. We have Sports 1 and Movies. We understand your frustration As for the Wifi, this is being dealt with as we speak and the last couple of weeks we have had contractors on sight installing fiber and running cables to all of the Apartments. This will not happen overnight as it is a large complex and we are asking guest to be understanding about this. We know this is not helping you with your complaint but we would like you to know that it has not gone unheard and we care and we are doing something about it. We would love to see you again in the future. Regards Beachside Resort.

First time I have booked with them, everything from the check in to check out was easy. The lady at reception was really nice and accommodating. This place is a family place, don’t expect to come for a “love” break as it will be noisy with kids ! Very spacious for the kids to play around and use the scooters. The pool was definitely the big hit for the kids and it is heated !! Little playground and tennis court is great too. DVD, scooters and tennis rackets are available at reception. The room was nice and spacious and very clean. Everything you need is there. The only downside was the tv channels, there was only like 3 channels available no sky tv if you want to watch a nice movie after dinner so it was a bit boring. Also if you get a room on the ground floor be prepared to hear people walking or running from the upstairs room ! It was a bit annoying when someone wakes up early morning and you are enjoying your sleep-in.... Otherwise location is great just accros the beach and about 10-15mins walks to cafes and restaurants. Will definitely come back and recommend this place!
