Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Absolute must when visiting Coromandel. The Wairua Rainforest Lodge is your place to be if you want to escape daily life and enter nature paradise. We lived in a well equipped and very modern apartment which was spotted clean. Beside that, you can enjoy pure nature happening in front of your door, stargazing in the night and the best hosts. Debbie & Ernst are very helpful, super friendly and have built up a real highlight accommodation in Coromandel. Be aware, that there are no shops close by, but there is a great kitchen where you can prepare your own dinner. Delicious breakfast is served from the hosts, including freshly baked bread, eggs from their own chickens and self made jam. My favorite place in New Zealand, so I have visited twice and need to come back for sure.

Wairua Lodge was a beautiful and tranquil place to stay with so many thoughtful touches- a real treat and we felt we had left the rat race behind. There were even rainforest walks on site (all very well signposted) complete with hammocks and beds for lounging en route- great for forest bathing! All the facilities were of a very high standard and our hosts very thoughtful and friendly. We would highly recommend staying at Wairua Lodge.

In the middle of the rainforest, beautifully located accommodation, friendly welcome by our hosts Debbie and Aschi. The lodge was once a family home and an artist's studio. Great breakfast. In every way, a very good location to really unwind with only rustling leaves on the trees and plants and bird sounds. The last part of the journey there is special along a gravel road where you also cross a small ford and a river ford. Both easy to cross though! Highly recommended B&B.

If you want to experience the beauty of the Coromandel Forest at first hand whilst staying in beautiful accommodation with lovely facilities then come here. Delightful hosts and a great breakfast make this a perfect choice. A highlight of our NZ trip and would return in a heartbeat. About 15 minutes from Whitianga and 1.5km off the 309 road. New Zealand at its best.

The Lodge is in a stunning location and our hosts could not have made us more welcome. The accommodation itself is spacious with all that you could need and additional shared facilities add great experiences, such as a spa bath under the stars. Treat yourself and stay here.

I could have spent so much longer here! Debbie delivered house made bread, jam and fruit for our breakfasts and it was the best toast ever. The bed was so comfortable and the shower - the best shower of our trip. There is so much to do on site with swimming holes and trails. We used the treetop bath house and that just took forest bathing to another level. Thank you so much for being a perfect last stop on our New Zealand adventure.

Beautiful, pristine accommodation in an amazing setting. Relaxing spaces all around the river, and the jumping platform was a highlight for our boys. We spent every night at the fire pit, where you can prepare your food on a fire ring (a real experience!), under the stars, listening to the sounds of the bush. The owners take great pride in this place, and it shows. Can't wait to go back!
