Absolutely superb accommodation- fabulous bathroom with good shower - very comfy bed - plenty of space for clothes, cases etc. coffee making facilities in room - although you need to pop downstairs for milk. Super friendly hosts that are so helpful with recommendations for restaurants (25 minutes walk) beaches, walks etc … Fabulous breakfast with the best fruit we have had so far in their stunning kitchen. Beautiful outside areas to sit & relax right next to the canal - just glorious - 5 ⭐️

5* +. Really lovely B&B, Paula and John were so lovely, let you get on with it, and totally respected your ability and need to come and go. Room was so clean and well presented, totally immaculate, and the bedding / bed was top hotel quality and some! Paula laid on a lovely breakfast, with no fuss. Town was great too, with some great dinning options. Would toughly recommend.

Words aren't enough to describe this wonderful place. Everything about it is stunning. The house is beautifully furnished with great taste and care. The bedroom was spacious , the bed was very large and very comfortable. Sitting in the garden relaxing and watching the boats was an added bonus. The location itself is wonderful so peaceful and tranquil. Paula and John bring a whole new meaning to hospitality. They are so caring and helpful and interesting. We highly recommend this outstanding Band B. We would love to return

The house is gorgeous. Stunning! The beds and rooms are super comfy, breakfast was yummy. John and Paula are the MOST amazing people! They allowed us to get married (we eloped) on their property. In preparation for our ceremony, Paula went above and beyond expectations by finding a hair salon and setting my appointment. She also recommended a celebrant to perform our ceremony. They were so excited for us and made sure the back yard where we had the ceremony was in beautiful shape. They prepared some "nibbles" as they like to call it for after the ceremony. They are such warm and welcoming people. They love their country and are full of ideas if you are open to suggestions for things to do. THANK YOU, PAULA & JOHN! We will never forget you and our time there. Apologies are owed for submitting my review nearly a year late. I thought I had done it when we returned but it sat in a draft status all this time! I'm so sorry! -Britt…

We spent 3 nights at Casa Aquila and couldn't have been happier. Our hosts John and Paula were really lovely -they were very welcoming and friendly. John was really helpful and organized parking for our boat trailer which we really needed and appreciated. Their home and garden is very beautiful and relaxing with a lovely Mediterranean feel. The location on the Waterways was perfect for us and very handy to a good boat ramp and to supermarkets and close to town. Our room was spacious and very comfortable. Breakfast was all you could want and at the time you wanted. We felt quite special and privileged to be able to stay at Casa Aquila and would love to stay again sometime. We would highly recommend to anyone wanting to treat themselves to something special.

We have just spent two delightful nights at Casa Aquila. Our hosts, Paula and John, could not have been more friendly and welcoming to their beautiful home. Large, comfortable bedroom and ensuite, with excellent breakfast. We have travelled quite extensively overseas and seen many wonderful sights. The quiet, peaceful location of Casa Aquila on the waterways at Whitianga would be right up there at the top of the list. We thoroughly recommend a stay at Casa Aquila.

This was one of the most idyllic places that I have stayed in. Paula and John were absolutely fantastic hosts. Friendly, knowledgeable and just simply awesome. The room (Fabello) was amazing, luxurious, welcoming and warm. Outside on the patio overlooking the canal drinking a nice beverage was relaxing and memorable.

My husband and I have just had 5 amazing nights at Casa Aquila to celebrate our 30th Wedding Anniversary and were blown away with not only the beautiful home but also the fantastic hosts. The room was incredible and the breakfast was everything you wanted. Paula was happy to cook a hearty bacon & eggs. John was so helpful on suggesting places to visit in the area. The hot tub was exceptional. I would highly recommend Casa Aquila to anyone who wanted somewhere amazing to stay.

Arrived here as the travel situation began to deteriorate. Paula and John were so helpful and supportive. Excellent B & B with superior accommodation and breakfast.. Very sad that we had to change our flights and leave early. Would love to return.

Spent two nights at Casa Aquila on a Father/Son vacation to New Zealand. I wasn't sure how a B & B would work for a guys trip, but Paula and John were great hosts, very accommodating and made great suggestions for activities/dining while in town. We were wow'd by the place and really enjoyed connecting with our hosts and other guests over breakfast. This was our favorite place on the North Island! Thanks Paula and John!!
