We were lucky enough to have room 8, which has the most amazing views from the enclosed balcony with sliding windows. We spent many hours enjoying the sunshine and views. The location is perfect for the beach, shops and restaurants. Chris was very friendly and accommodating. The room was clean and tidy and had all the amenities required. (The washing machine is located downstairs but is only accessible at certain times).
Our 4 day stay was very relaxing and we we would definitely return if we ever visit New Zealand again.

We stayed in the penthouse suite, which has beautiful decor, was huge, and had wall-to-wall windows facing the beach. Such a stunning view. The bed and pillows in the main bedroom was the most comfortable we’ve ever on our trip, and the main bedroom has full ocean views. Fantastic location (just a few metres from the beach), quiet, and easy walking distance to shops and places to eat. Also had free parking for our hire car.

Great apartments, great views, great management, excellent location, we would highly recommend waterfront apartments for a either a long or short stay. A short walk to local restaurants and shops, and a short drive to nearby attractions. We had a very enjoyable stay.

We stayed in the very pleasant Waterfront Apartments in Whitianga, New Zealand. One bathroom for two bedrooms was slightly inconvenient but it was well situated on the beach. It was very clean and a most pleasant stay.

Stayed for a weekend in January 2025 on the second floor. The views of the water were fantastic and the sounds of the waves all night made it even better. The location is just right for walking into town and walking on your own beach right outside. The room itself was spotless and updated with everything you could need. Chris was a great host too and gave us some good advice for things to do in Whitianga. Don’t forget to walk into the beach at night for some incredible star gazing.

We occupied the penthouse unit which had two king bedrooms and one bathroom. The facility itself was well maintained and except for a number of critical shortfalls would have received a five star review.
The shortfalls included a lack of daily housekeeping services. If your unit is not available by 11:00 AM and vacant, no service will be provided. On the two days we did vacate in time, all that was done was making the beds with same sheets, providing some new towels and that's it. No sweeping floors, vacuuming, or changing of sheets for our entire 6 night stay.
None of the windows had screens and because these units are not air conditioned, windows had to be left open, which let in some rather nasty small bugs which were very good at biting legs and arms while sleeping.
Be aware that when a New Zealand apartment advertises a washer and dryer, they may mean one located somewhere in the facility. In the case of this apartment complex, in meant one washer and one dryer at $4.00 per load each, and we had to compete with the facility for use of these.
During our stay the apartment came with one small tube of body wash for three people to use for 6 days of showers. Had to ask for toilet paper when our original roll ran out. Coffee was supplied, but was not refilled as needed either.
But, the capper was the Internet service. It was so slow that we could not even log into our various business services while there. Saving a document onto the cloud took anywhere from five to 20 minutes! Even downloading my Outlook service took over 20 minutes. The explanation was that their service was overwhelmed by the number of visitors in Whitianga...which could have been true. For us, being in business back in the US and trying to communicate was a six day disaster.
You might wonder with these complaints, how did I give them a four star review? The answer is that the location and facility is good. It is just these limited items, that could be so easily provided, and would have made it so much more enjoyable as our choices of accommodation when visiting Whitianga.
By the way, we are professional travel agents who travel the world looking for places to send our clients.

We stayed at the penthouse top floor, stunning views, beautiful apartment.
This is a 2 bedroom apartment and would highly recommend.
Location was perfect, Just a few minutes walk to the Main Street and lots of eateries.
Laundry available onsite, and staff were very friendly and helpful in advising things to do.

Arrived around 5pm and was served by a lovely lady who gave us a great rate for 2 nights. Such a lovely room with an amazing water view. The price was amazing for the location. Walking distance to fantastic eating places and town centre. The fishing club is great fun and very nice cheap meals. Glass bottom boat trip to Cathedral Cove was well worth it and just 5 min walk from the apartment. Very nice stay thank you.

We stayed for two nights in a first floor 1 bed apartment. The location is excellent being close to the restaurants, marina and town and the view is amazing but on checking in around 2.30pm we arrived at the same time as a tradie. We wanted to relax for a while after a long journey but that was impossible due to drilling in the apartment next door. We asked how long this would go on and the receptionist said she would find out and let us know. My husband had to go back to reception to ask when the drilling would be finished . She hadn't even bothered to find out. That evening we were asked to move our car if we wanted to get out of the car park due to a cherry picker being in the driveway as they were fixing the roof the next day. The guy on the desk wasn't very helpful either saying we could move somewhere else for the next night if we didn't like it?? This could have been easily rectified if we had known these things beforehand.
A few other things - apartment is very dated and needs a good paint job. The kitchen cupboards are probably as old as the apartment. Fluffy bits all over the bed cover. Room service doesn't include making the bed. Room too crowded with too many chairs some of which actually was garden furniture. Private access to the Lost Springs is quite a walk and not private to the property as stated.
