We were back in Stonetown following a 6 day safari in Selous. This time we decided on a couple of nights in Stonetown instead of going to one of the luxury hotels on the beach. We visited the African House for lunch on our last trip so decided to return for lunch. The menu had changed from our previous visit, more Indian and Chinese dishes available. We also stopped in for drinks on two nights, the first night they had some great live music the next night a very loud disco. The food is plentiful and the staff are very nice.…

Not a good choice

Very easy access to the main attractions beatiful terrace for sunset · The hotel and the rooms were mouldy. There was a terrible smell in the room. Very noise cars under the window and music until 2 in the morning. Impossible to sleep.

Very lovely. Nice area, breakfast overlooking ocean. Friendly staff. Really nice old style hotel and historical. Clean. Lots of stairs. Comfortable room and comfortable beds. Great architecture. Food was good

We went out for drinks and we set for drinks and ordered finger lunch which we enjoyed and have beautiful view though we were late fortunately our table was booked already before we leave south africa

Breakfast with a view

We stayed at the Africa house hotel for 3 nights. We had a beautifully decorated room to stay in. There were some plumbing issues with the bathroom, which weren’t fully solved even when we left - it left a bad odor in the bathroom. The meals at the hotel, which were served on the balcony were lovely. To have breakfast with a view of the ocean is special. One thing we did not appreciate was that one if the receptionists has a side business (Mr Right) and we had agreed on a price for a tour. Upon arrival, there were additional payments to be done that were not included even though the price for this tour should have included those. So be aware that when you book through him that you ask him to specify what is and what is not included in the tour you book with him.…

We apologize for the bathroom plumbing issue which has now been well taken care of during our deep maintenance of this "historical building".
