    This is not a fancy place, hence 3 stars. But the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. They arranged a number of tours for us while we were there. There is no lift, but there are only 3 floors, counting ground. Location is very good. Excellent value.

    The rooms were lovely and always perfectly made everyday. The staff were very helpful with excisions as well as recommending restaurants and bars to us. They’d always greet us when we returned for the day and gave us a very warm welcome. The air con is fab and can make your room absolutely freezing if you wish! The beds were SO comfy too. Very near to the restaurants and shops and just a 10 minute walk from the ferry. Would highly recommend to anyone. Thank you!…

    We stayed here after catching the ferry from Dar es Salaam. We could walk here with our cases and the location for the town beach was excellemt. It was nice and clean and quiet. Staff and manager were great and organised good trips for usand we loved it here thank you

    Nice hotel in the heart of Stone Town
    Al-minar is clean, centrally located, with a professional staff that will assist you with anything you need, and has an AMAZING BREAKFAST that's included and takes place on the rooftop of the hotel. My room was cozy with AC and a fan, complimentary coffee/tea and water, and a tv. My only criticism is that the beds aren't too comfortable. Other than this, everything was perfect. It's great quality for the money and I'd definitely stay here again.…

    We had a room in the heart of Stone Town. The service was outstanding. The manager checked in every morning with everyone as they ate breakfast on the roof top terrace to make sure everthing was going OK.
