A snowflake in Paris delayed our Manchester connecting flight. We ran to the Mauritius flight! The luggage didn't make it for four days. Despite all this our stay was very relaxing in surroundings of tranquil and unassuming luxury. The hotel staff are fantastic with a special shout-out to the ladies in the boutique who provided us with clothes and advice - and the waiter who had one of the chefs cook us some burgers at 3 in the afternoon when we arrived. The ground floor room was beautiful. It opened on to a lawn by one of the pools, so we snagged a couple of loungers which stayed put for the week.
This hotel is a little bit of paradise! Every member of staff ensured that we had everything we needed. The location is stunning and the rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. Towels were changed daily or more often if required. The doors from our room/terrace were just a few feet away from one of the beautiful pools. There was always plenty of choice at both restaurants (we were all inclusive) - the only negative was the wine included in AI wasn't to our taste at all so we purchased from the wine menu at extra cost.I particularly like that the restaurant manager brought the chef out to meet us on our last night and asked for our feedback and any suggested improvements. The Spa was also lovely - one of the best massages I've had (Mauritian Massage). Only there for 8 days but will definitely return.…
We spent our honeymoon here in May 2019 and we was disappointed. As like the other reviews, we let our agent know it was our honeymoon yet when we arrived there was nothing for us, we was hoping a little something in the room or some sort of congratulations but all we was asked was did we have our marriage certificate with us? Of course we didn’t, nobody is going to risk losing that on holiday. The hotel was very nice and clean, the food was nice and hot although it’s very strange to not have a buffet on every night. Every other night was sit down and menu service and if you didn’t like anything on the menu, you wasn’t able to have anything different which was again disappointing. The staff were friendly for the ones who did speak, others weren’t interested in engaging with us. The room was pleasant and clean with a nice pool view. It was nice and quiet at night and the beach was very clean. The pool is freezing, yes I know that hot countries don’t have heated pools but I wasn’t able to swim at any point during our time as it was too cold, the sea was warmer and more pleasant to cool down in. If I was asked to recommend this place for a honeymoon I would have to say look elsewhere, for a normal holiday though then yes it’s nice although there isn’t much to do so if you just want to do nothing then you will be fine here.…
Nice hotel, but once you leave it, there is realy nothing to see or to do. All the rooms have a great view wich is blocked by the balustrade when you are sitting on your chairs, but... all the rooms have also there enterance at the street side, so all day and night you hear everything what´s happening like passing by of cars, (loud) motorbikes, trucks, busses, people, etc. They recognized the problem at the reception desk and offered another room, but... ALL rooms are situated at the main road so that wouldn´t have fixed the problem. The rooms have also thin walls... The food needs more variation Staff (except of the men at the watersports) is very proffesionall, friendly and helpfull. Small (max 100 meter) clean private beach, but don´t expect white tropical beaches with palmtrees because this is the only beach in the wide environment. If you want to go into the sea, wear protective footwear because it´s is full of sharp rocks. The men from the watersports were never friendly, as if tourists are not welcome and they dislike it when you want to go on the water with a padle board or something else... Nice pool but not heated what would have been defenately a big advantage when it´s to cold to get in to the water (June), especially because there´s nothing else to do. This was our Honeymoon. (Mariage in september 2022 because delayed several times by Covid). Our travel agency knew it and passed it by to the hotel. I had also let them know by e-mail and was disapointed to not even received a note of congrats, not even when i told them. The only respons i got was ´Do you have a certificate of your mariage?´. 😲 We didn´t expect whine our fruit because this was already in our all in, but not even a refering welcome note at arival? We´ve booked the Catamaran tripp, but it was canceled the night before because not enough passengers. No problem, but they still tried to charge us the tripp when we checked out. Other people who did the tripp on another day were disapointed the crew canceled the snorkeling because to many jellyfisch, but... at that period of the year tbere aren´t even jellyfish what was comfirmed to us at the receptiondesk. Room: 3/5 => noisy and to small bathroom with only 1 washing table. Balustrade blocks the nice view on your terace. Roomservice: 4/5 =>clean but for refill of the minibar, we always had to contact reception. Staff: 4/5 => great exept staff of watersports. Food: 2/5 => not enough variation and the table d´hotes (twice a week) were just a way of serving very cheap and small meals a la carte instead of buffet. All inn: 3/5 => (see comment table d´hotes). All inn only starts at 11AM. So if you want a coffee at 10:30 AM it´s being charged. No automaticly refill of minibar. All inn drinks are served on a poor way in plasti, unlike paying guest there drinks which were always richely decorated in nice coctail glasses. Location: 0/5 => realy nothing to do or see outside the hotel. Pool: 3/5 => nice infinitypool but to cold to get in because not heated. (month of June) . Uncomfotable sunbeds. …
We found the staff to be outstanding and made our stay memorable however the hotel is tired, and the rooms seemed to be a bit run down, we found the food to be just warm at time and one day, someone obviously forgot to turn the soup urn on, and my first spoon turned my stomach with stone cold fish soup, not pleasant at all. The hotel is very isolated, so you have to rely on the facilities the hotel provide, evening entertainment is poor to say the least We do understand this is a 4* hotel but we have travelled extensively across the globe over 40 plus years and compared to other places we have stayed, this falls short. We give fall praise for the staff who do their very best with what they have and on summary, this is not a bad hotel, it's just not as good as it could and should be, i have still given an overall Fullmark rating but individually lower scores on Location/Sleep Quality and Rooms and hence Value.…
Excellent stay and good service Food choice was quite limited, no lamb, duck, or shrimps and/ or octopus for this price is questionable. But overall stay was quite nice for a get-away. And the surprise for the wedding anniversary was very nice and appreciated.
Thought it would be easier to break our review down. First impressions- Reception staff were very welcoming and friendly, offered us a tour once the obligatory covid test was complete. Welcome drink was also a lovely gesture Room- We had a Privilege room and wow! So nice! Room looked out onto the beach and sea, literally could walk out of our room and onto the beach. The bed was so comfy, facilities were great, beach towels provided, shower was great, water pressure and temp great. Room and minibar had the usual amenities, again all fantastic. Only slight criticism is the obscure positioning of storage in the toilet. Room was cleaned everyday, with an extra touch of a towel refresh at night if you wanted it. All Inclusive- Great choice of dishes at both restaurants (beach bar and main area). Food was fresh, salads are great and their were variations in the same dishes suggesting food was sourced fresh and local each day. Drinks were great, clear labelling of all inclusive drinks. Hotel Facilities- Small gift shop was perfect for souvenirs and essentials like suncream if needed. 2 pools both with plenty of space to be around (always a free sun lounger available). Beach was great too, again plenty of space, clear sea and the occasional local dog, no concerns with them begging etc. Daily water activities like kayaking were a great touch. Staff- Everyone was so attentive but not overwhelming welcoming, friendly and made a real effort to remember you and your room number. Yes you do sign for everything but it is no issue. They all work so hard to ensure your stay is as relaxing and special as possible. Privilege Upgrade- after initially booking a superior room we were contacted by the hotel with an offer to upgrade to privilege. Through upgrading we were able to eat al a carte every evening and experience the amazing catamaran trip (this can be paid for as an excursion, WELL worth it). LGBT- Finally, just wanted to make a special note about how welcomed and safe we felt staying here. At no point did we feel uncomfortable, out of place or judged. We would 100% recommend to other LGBT travellers. Thank you to the whole team! Amazing holiday, great memories!…
Don’t often write reviews. When you book a holiday only from a photo thought it best to share our experience. Great adults only hotel. Staff looked after you well, they make an effort to remember you and your room number when signing for drinks and food. Views from our superior room in the ground floor were fantastic. Hotel main area is open to the elements which didn’t bother us. There are some wild dogs roaming on the beach. Only problem is they might steal your sun lounger 😁 very friendly. Food was great, varied everyday so for our first all inclusive was good. Hotel was full when we visited but never felt crowded. Always a sun lounger by the pool or on the beach. Overall holiday was great from start to finish, well worth the 12 hour flight😁
Our room was superb! and very comfortable. The staff were so helpful, kind and cheerful, couldn't do enough for you. The food was excellent. The Hotel was amazing, the decor really stylish. Everything about our stay was special and we did not want to come home. i would like to mention just a few of the staff that were outstanding, Awmee from the main bar and Raj the Manager and will be definitely coming again soon!!!
We had a wonderful two weeks at Paul et Virginie celebrating our 25th Wedding Anniversary. From start to finish we were treated like royalty. I have never come across staff as attentive, courteous, and committed to customer service as I did here.It would be unfair to pick favourites, but Ansuya, Ajay, Bhavesh, Awmeen were all brilliant, but the star of the show has to be Raj, a true gentleman and an absolute credit to your company, he would be an asset to any major hotel in the world, he is that good....Thank you again for a memorable holiday.
