All of the negative reviews about this place rang oh-so-true for my husband and I after our stay at this motel. Here are some of the things we witnessed/experienced firsthand.
-Dirt stains on the walls and doors. It would appear that the management never cleans the doorknob area on the doors, as there were dirty finger prints all around the doorknob. There were also random dirty streaks here and there on the walls. Gross!
-A rude owner. He blew off the concerns we had regarding the security of our personal information (he required photocopies of our driver's licenses.) He also gave us a hard time before finally agreeing to replenish our bath towels on the 3rd day of our visit.
-The hardest bed I've ever slept on. I'm usually not too sensitive when it comes to bed hardness/comfort, but this bed was like a concrete slab.
-Cheap door locks (which I'm sure could be broken through with a single kick.) There wasn't even a deadbolt.
-Paper-thin walls. If someone was talking in the room next to ours, we heard them.
-An overall shady atmosphere.
-No hairdryer. For 90 bucks a night, you'd think they could supply one in the bathroom.
-Ants!
I don't know how on earth this place is staying in business. Perhaps if they connect all of these negative reviews with the scarcity of their guests (over the course of our 3 night stay, there was a total of 2 other cars in the parking lot) they could find some motivation to make this place a bit nicer.

I am planning to come north again & have no intention of staying here. Really a shame as it is the only motel in Warwick, Greenwood Lake & West Milford. (B&B's are in abundance) I was a life long resident until we had to relocate south. Stayed here in Sept. 2011 & was very happy with room & service. Stayed here 1 night in August 2013 for a family function. No one at the office, was told I would have to wait 1/2 hour for a person, I was unable to wait & a person called us back to say we could go into one of the lower rooms, it was open & get the key in there. A lot of transient people living there. Went to get coffee at 6 am from Larry's Deli & found a group of people hanging in the parking lot, a couple was arguing, was not comfortable exiting my room. When I looked out again there were 2 police cars out there so I felt I could exit. They were all out there about another 1/2 hour and when we were packing to leave I saw that one of the men (from the fighting) was staying in the end room (sitting at the open door) & another person was sleeping in a car in the parking lot. Beds were not the cleanest, bathroom moldy, towels horrible. I am sure the regular residents know the system & who knows who slept there without the management knowing. Women traveling need to have a sense of safety along with cleanliness. What a shame and I paid over $80.00 for that night.

Much in the room was new, but not very clean. The sheets had a strange feel to them and made for a very uncomfortable night's sleep. There was no soap or glasses in the bathroom, just some already used shampoos and lotions. There was a large tray (where they might have put a couple of glasses!) on the desk which had a sign taped to it that said "thank you for your tips". I controlled myself from leaving them a LONG list of tips! I didn't go to breakfast, but my husband said the coffee (they had no tea for me) was lousy and all they had to eat was a bag of bagels. I too wish I'd gone to a further motel, as this one is DEFINITELY not worth $80+tax.

We will not stay here again. There is mold All over bathroom and water in ceiling. They said it was a king bed, it’s not. There was one light switch in the room. There was no hair dryer. They said the room was renovated, the room is not renovated. This review is for room 107.

Stayed here for one week under current arrangement of hotel being leased for a large scale construction project in Warwick. Hotel has been cleaned up, improved for the volunteers. The rooms are small, but cozy. The town is neat, lots of cute shops. Will soon have a world class bible museum nearby for all to enjoy. First off let me start by saying that my husband and I are not picky and usually take reviews with a grain of salt, with that being said if you read and trust reviews- trust this one!!! We arrived on time, but our room was not ready (maintenance guy was who checked us in). We had to fight with him to give us the same room but a different room number that was ready, he finally complied. The rooms were musty and unfortunately my husband has bad allergies. We had to leave without staying the night. We told the owner we had a family emergency (afraid telling him the truth would cause an agrument) and that we needed to leave. The kicker here was that the maintenance guy never took our credit card and we would have been willing to pay half BUT he said absolutely not took the credit card from my husband's hand and swiped it for the full amount. I said to him that it's no wonder they have the reviews they do and he simply said "That's fine". There are sooo many nice Bed & Breakfasts in the Warwick/Greenwood Lake area for only a little extra- I just wish we did this ourselves. We drove home that night- there went a night away for new parents! :(

We needed to stay overnight for my nieces sweet sixteen party that was in the same town, we did not want to drive late at night so we stayed in the two room suite ,it was the worst ,the rooms were not clean there were still socks from a previous tenant , the beds were not clean my kids husband and I refused to even sleep on the blankets we went to cvs and got beach towels and slept on top of them this was the worst experience of my life

They lost our reservation even though we booked online and confirmed by phone the week of. Luckily (bad luck or good luck I'm not sure) he had a room left. Upon arrival our room was adequate until we pulled back the covers and found lipstick and mascara stains, other mysterious stains, hairs, and bugs, yes bugs in the bed. Two beetles, one dead, one alive. We called to ask for new sheets and they argued with us by phone and made us come to the lobby to get new sheets. He told us it was "just your imagination". The shower was dirty, could definitely use some bleach. Their laundry could use some extra bleach too, because even the new "clean" pillowcases had stains. We also found a few spiders in the room. The walls were scuffed and the ceiling had spiderwebs in the corners and a patch on the ceiling not fixed properly. The lamp shade was even stained. Bad service, dirty, rude and unorganized. Save yourself the hassle and stay elsewhere.

All of the reviews I read have been fairly accurate. I got there and the front door was locked, I had to call the manager and it took him over 30 minutes to come and check us in. The room was average, not sparkling clean, but not really dirty, although there was a weird stain on a pillow. The shampoo bottle was half filled, as another review said and the towels were pretty threadbare, as another review said. **It's honestly no frills, just a place to sleep type of place.** There aren't even any tissues or soap in the bathroom. I can't speak of the breakfast since I didn't check it out, but the website said continental breakfast but the manager told us coffee and bagels, that's it.
If I went back to Warwick for the weekend I would spend the extra money for a B & B or drive the 15 min to a major chain hotel, but overall, not awful and it was a convenient location.

I have stayed here many times in the past year and felt compelled to write upon coming across the last review by accident and viewing several others...Firstly, I was actually there the day the previous reviewer writes of...it was a group of laborers (specifically under NYS contract) who the owner was compelled to accomadate as to do otherwise would actually have been illegal...They were well behaved except for the "cooking" incident, which I myself notified the owner about and to which he responded immediately...This was an isolated incident as well as the owner being compelled to lodge this intermittent group...The author of the previous review must understand the owner cannot discriminate if the occupants are by chance Hispanic...As for myself I have always found the Hotel to be a very convenient and economical option...it is very close to Main Street and dining offerings and has the best rate in the area...The rooms are well appointed and clean...It is not the Plaza nor is it intended to be...it is what it is...A clean lodging for the traveler with an owner (Harry) that will eagerly bend over backwards to accommodate...Frankly it is one of the best kept secrets in Warwick...
