Booking now for our reopening in August 2019. Set on 80 historic acres, 1712 House blends New World comfort with Old world charm. The extraordinary house, and much of the furniture, was hand built nearly entirely with trees from the property and local handpicked stones. Inspired by 18th-century French Huguenot architecture, 1712 House features historically correct details throughout including beamed ceilings, wide plank floors, custom built furniture, hand wrought iron hardware and period artifacts.

Amazing fireplace, beautiful old house (mansion?) in amazing shape and located on sloping lawns next to woods and corn fields. The staff are great, and the vibe is peaceful and unobtrusive. I noticed that there are is a fire pit near the creek out back...

Thanks for coming back, and for your kind words. I'm glad you got to enjoy the fireplace. The campfire by the stream is a new addition to the property. I highly recommend it if you visit again.

Beautiful house. Unbelievable breakfast. The innkeeper was super gracious. Her staff was quirky a little cold at first but warmed up quickly. The fire in the main sitting room is outstanding. Really roaring and that smell! Couldn’t have been more relaxing and cozy. Bed was comfortable. I’d love a fluffy duvet instead of the current linen. The battenburg lace on the windows and tables was so perfectly ironed and breathtakingly white it couldn’t have been more beckoning. A real old fashioned pleasure in a completely updated house. The bathroom downstairs had a super bathtub for two. The showers were of low quality. The kind that are plasticy and small. Impeccably clean bit out of place in such an outstanding house. Oh, and grounds would make capability brown smile. I thought it would be too far for a dinner trip to rhinebeck but it wasn’t. We tried the local “good place” called butter something which had instagram worthy food that was pretty unflavorable with spotty service but outstanding butterscotch pudding.

Stayed at this lovely B & B for unfortunately only 1 Night this past weekend to visit family who live in Stone Ridge. The place is immaculate, beautifully kept and breathtakingly gorgeous. We were greeted by the wonderful, kind and pleasant keepers. We loved our room and never heard a sound from the rest of the house when we were in there. Breakfast is selected by the guests and brought directly to your table, everything was DELICIOUS! My husband isn’t a fan of B & B’s but he’s looking forward to returning as am I.

The 1712 house is a magical escape! It is beautiful inside and out. Tom & Diane are great hosts and make everyone feel welcome. The fireplace is amazing and Diane's breakfast is delicious. The drive up to the property and the plentiful deer really make you feel like you are far away from the hustle and bustle. We really enjoyed our room, it as very beautiful, comfortable and clean. Really enjoyed hiking in the nearby state park, walking over the hudson pedestrian bridge and lunch in New Paltz. Thanks Tom & Diane!

Visiting over the weekend we had a wonderful time from the moment we stepped inside, being greeted by a friendly and knowledgeable staff. The rooms are a perfect size, each quite unique. There are a couple of large common sitting areas on the first floor, one of which had a perfect, inviting log fire. An imaginative breakfast was served each morning in one of the sitting areas between 8 and 10. Outside a large herd of deer was moving back and forth across the property each day. One night we saw a clear sky and a view of many, many stars. Quiet and relaxing, it was a perfect weekend getaway.
