We biked Erie Canal from Buffalo and this was our last stay after 6 days of biking. What a treat! Marriott, of course, is a class act and knows how to please its guests. Front desk staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful (both in evening and in morning) Rooms large and very very well furnished and arranged, plush towels and good toiletries in bathroom, in-room coffee/microwave/refrigerator Beautiful area overlooking Canal. Near historic and beautiful Stockade District. Bistro on site The one quibble I have is with the Courtyard set up - there is no coffee in lobby and Bistro does not open until 7AM, which is not convenient for many However, that is no fault of this particular hotel and I would highly recomend

This place was a homerun, great area to be in & upon arrival Jason was great & knowledgeable. Gave us all the best bars & music to visit & some of best were in walking distance including Druthers which was great w live music once again since covid located along mohawk river. We visited Altamont Winery during day which was great & then walked along trail & thru amphitheater. Kayaking & buke rentals conveniently located near hotel & room at hotel was great & well maintained, The outside area behing hotel was great w firepit for adults after walk back from Rivers Casino. Look forward to making this a yearly trip. If heading to track @ Saratoga this would be a nice 2nd option to get away from Toga crowdedness during track season!!!

We had a wonderful stay at the newer hotel addition to the casino neighborhood of Schenectady. The Courtyard is a short walk to a bunch of great restaurants and the Rivers Casino, and not too far from downtown. We checked in easily and were greeted by the manager, Jeff and a very helpful front desk staff. The room was very clean and spacious. King bed and sheets super comfy. Microwave, fridge and coffee maker present as well as a thermostat that actually controlled room temps perfectly. The bathroom was also spacious and modern. We had an adjoining room which they set up for smaller meetings, as well as a large space off the lobby. The lobby is well appointed and they have a very nice bar and breakfast area. Plenty of free parking as well. We will definitely be returning here for future business meetings.

What could have been an enjoyable stay turned out to be a disappointing one. Unfortunately I left my coat in the closet of our room. I didn't realize it until 2 hrs after checkout and called right away. I was informed by guest services that it would addressed immediately and someone would get back to me which no one did. The lack of concern was disheartening. After calling 3 days in a row, speaking to several people including 2 managers getting one excuse after another I was told my coat was not recovered, no one turned it in and they did not have it!!! ( If I left a sock I may have had a better chance getting it back) that's what I was told by Jason the manager that his employees would turn in a sock if they found it. Sure they would who wants a sock!!!!
I guess a nice coat doesn't warrant turning in. If u decide to stay at this hotel keep in mind that if u accidentally leave anything of value behind know that u will not see it again. This hotel employs "Dishonest Employees" shame on them. The real shame is it affects the Marriott's reputation.

Super friendly and helpful staff on every shift. The night was quiet- just about the quietest hotel I've ever stayed in! Pillows were comfy, bed was not so comfortable. Hotel and room were very clean. Mask wearing was enforced and all guests wore masks in the common areas. Overall good stay and I would stay here again if in the area.

Pretty standard for a Courtyard. Nice rooms, cafe open for breakfast only. Good location, near a brewpub and wine bar. Special shout out to James, who was super helpful in general, but specifically helped me get in touch with the right tech support folks to get high-speed wifi working properly so I could take some zoom meetings. The rest of the staff there has been friendly and helpful too

The hotel is new and nicely decorated. It was very comfortable. However it is right next to train tracks and the train went by at least 4 times during the night blowing it's whistle loudly each time. We did not sleep well. The breakfast food offered is very expensive. The location seems nice by the water and next to a casino.

I arrived at the hotel in a late night during my way back from Canada in June. As a Marriott member, I chose this hotel because the complementary benefits that I can receive as a gold elite member who have stayed with Marriott for many nights a year. However, I neither received the 2 complementary bottles of water (requested but refused) nor received any complementary upgrade. The service was cold and room was outdated. Will find somewhere else the next time.

The hotel looks nice and is in a great location. Easy to explore the area and walk to the casino. While the staff is nice, some need some additional training and the hotel overall needs more staff. The bed was comfy and room quiet but overall that’s it.

The hotel is wildly understaffed. The chef was checking us in and there were no other staff to be seen. If you have a restaurant it should be staffed. The morning time there were two competent people working thank god but otherwise it was deserted. The chef was nice but shouldn’t you have more people working the desk?

Initially had room 211 which is by elevator but is huge, also didn’t hear the elevator. We went out for an event and came back and the door wouldn’t open. It flashed green but nothing happened. We told the front desk person who, while nice, smelled of marijuana. Not a good look for the only employee on site. She was super apologetic but seemed to have no knowledge of the room workings or room types. She came up, leaving the front desk empty I may add, with this metal device that she was meant to shove under the door and break in. She had no idea how To use it and had to call someone who was off to come and do it who was half an hour away. She kept telling us that as if we didn’t want to get into our room and get our things. Of course we do- she should have called him right away. Yet another issue with low staffing.

Also- she said this happens all the time. Not ok. Spend the money for new locks!!

Once he came she did give us a new room that faced the canal which was nice, but it really left a bad taste in my mouth.

Told the clerk in the am who seemed to know what was going on, and she gave me 5,000 bon voy points to compensate, but I still feel like it’s not enough after reliving this again.

For sure stay somewhere else this place is a joke.

The Courtyard by Marriott was a great location, the views of the river were fantastic , the hotel was new, clean, and had every amenity we needed.
We were there for a tennis tournament in the area.
The Front Desk Representative James was so welcoming, helpful, professional, and he had a great memory-he asked us when we returned if we had won!
We gathered at the fire pit one night and James was so kind, he jumped up to help us and was so willing to lend a hand.
Who does that any more?
The rooms were immaculate and I think well insulated, because I did not hear any hallway noice or noice from other rooms.
The breakfast was quick and easy.
You can walk to the casino, or several restaurants across the street.
I would definitely return when I’m back in the area, and I would definitely recommend this Courtyard to my friends and family!
