The Mirbeau Inn & Spa Rhinebeck garners appreciation for its tranquil atmosphere and elegantly designed rooms, with guests often highlighting the comfortable beds and luxurious bathrooms. While some travelers consider the rates steep, the cleanliness and service quality receive accolades, particularly the spa and check-in staff. Despite a few notes on limited pillow choices and spa policy changes, the spa facilities and location are popular, the latter for its convenience to downtown Rhinebeck.

The Mirbeau Inn & Spa Rhinebeck is a heavenly spa getaway. Great for a romantic weekend, girls trip, or solo relaxation. Guests must be 21 or over, so this is an adult get-away - yay! The entire inn is non-smoking/non-pets. Opened in 2019, it still has the look and feel of a brand new place. It is located only about a 2 hour drive from NYC and is right in the center of the town of Rhinebeck, so all restaurants and shops are right near the inn - super easy walking distance. The outside grounds of the inn are very impressive - a long cobblestone driveway with ample parking both above and below ground. Piped in relaxation music playing from "rock" speakers in the parking lot are the first welcome. There are bicycles/helmuts for the guest use right out front.

CHECK IN: Check in was a total breeze in the large reception area that even had the amazing "spa smell". The very kind and knowledgeable Billy handled both my check/in and check/out, was super professional, friendly, helpful, and went out of his way to assist with questions. One of the good aspects of this inn is that while check-in isn't until 4pm, hotel guests can use the spa, fitness center and all facilities even before check in, so you can get there early (spa hours were 6am -9pm) and use the spa/facilities all day.

ROOM: The large 3rd floor room with king-sized bed was totally spotless, had spa music playing from a bedside sound machine, a "faux" fireplace was going, full sized luxury toiletries in the bathroom, separate clawfoot soaking tub, large spa shower, and even the toilet bowl had its own separate "room" ha ha - -an alcove area separate than the rest of the bathroom. There is an in-room safe, his and her thick well-made spa lined bathrobes and slippers in the closet, tons of hangers, a hand-held clothing steamer, coffee maker, etc. The bed was super comfortable with a huge padded headboard. All of the wIndows had both sheer curtains and blackout shades, and evening turndown service is done by housekeeping for those that want it. The room was large, spotless and super comfortable. As someone who is still careful with Covid protocols I felt totally comfortable in this pristine room.

SPA - The spa has separate his/hers lockerooms that are large, impeccably clean, and filled with luxurious oversized toiletry products, towels, and other comforts such as hairdryers, curling irons, hair ties, etc. A spa attendant takes you for an initial tour. Throughout my stay there were multiple spa attendants always in the locker room and surrounding areas cleaning or refreshing supplies. Each guest gets assigned a locker with a changeable combination. Spa robes and slippers are waiting in each locker. The women's lockeroom has a steamroom and dry sauna, toilets, changing areas and individual spa showers. There is a large co-ed "relaxation room" with dimmed lighting, about 40 padded loungers, a faux fireplace and chairs in which you can either hang out in all day or while you await your spa services. The room has several wellness type books on the tables besides the loungers and there is area stocked with fresh fruit, cucumber water, various teas, etc. There are always plenty of towels to use in numerous locations around the spa.

I had a collagen facial with Ashley which was excellent. I also had a deep tissue massage. As someone who has been getting massages regularly for decades and in locations worldwide at various spa facilities, the deep tissue massage that I had at Mirabeau with Ben was one of the top ten deep tissue massages that I have ever had. He was also friendly, extremely knowledgeable about physiology and offered several suggestions for my massage and wellness routines going forward. I highly recommend Ben for deep tissue massage!!

Right off of the spa area is an outdoor 100 degree heated dunk-pool (i.e. the pool is not for swimming, just for short-term chilling out in heated water with fountains). Around the pool area, there are padded lounge chairs, small bistro tables, multiple cubed lounge seating with umbrellas and 4 cabanas with privacy curtains, couches and loungers. There is a poolside bar area as well.

My only disappointment with the spa was the external noise factor during my facial. The room in which my facial took place was on the opposite wall of a heavy security door leading to the pool area. That door is constantly being opened by clients and slams shut with a loud bang. This was really distracting during the facial. I would recommend that they either put that door on some kind of a spring loaded close or add some kind of foam strips to soften the blow when the door slams shut. Fitness classes take place in the fitness room with yoga mats, blocks, etc. and there is a gym with free weights, machines. There is also a gift shop that sells the spa products and bathing suits or things you may have forgotten to bring.

DINING: I had 2 outdoor breakfasts at the Charlie Palmer Willow restaurant (there is indoor and outdoor seating). The service at the restaurant was spotty (hostess was in the kitchen chatting instead of out front at the dining reception on both mornings causing an awkward wait) and even though I was there at "off times" getting the attention of the waitress to come outside was difficult on both days. I was also a little disappointed that a restaurant with a high caliber chef name at a spa/wellness inn didn't have more vegan options. Nonetheless, the breakfasts were very good (though somewhat pricey), the waitress was very nice, and the outdoor seating was serene -- overlooking trees and flowers in the backyard with a lot of nature sounds, as well as the sound of local church bells. There was a sign in the spa indicating that guests were permitted to dine in their robes at the inn daily up until 4pm. I thought that this was a great option as you can spend the whole day in a spa robe, eat breakfast and lunch in your robe and not have to worry about changing clothes throughout the day.

Due to the limited number of vegan options at the Willow restaurant, I chose to eat dinner at a local place, Terrapin, a gorgeous restaurant in what looks like it was a former church space a few blocks away - - lots of vegan and non vegan options, locally sourced ingredients, great food and great service.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Mirbeau, and am already looking forward to returning with multiple friends. Total hit!

I planned a trip to Mirbeau for 3 nights for my fiance's birthday. First, let me start by saying we felt incredibly safe and comfortable with their guidelines and measures regarding COVID. There are wipes and hand sanitizer at the elevator bay, temperature checks at check-in, everyone is wearing masks, things are constantly being sanitized, and social distancing is observed in all areas of the hotel and spa.

Now, on to the details...everything about our stay from the moment we arrived was simply perfect. TJ, whom we encountered our couple of days was welcoming, personable, friendly, and always willing to help. For example, when we ran out to pickup food from nearby restaurants, upon our return, he asked if we needed plates and silverware, something we hadn't even thought about! We did need those things and TJ had them sent to the room right away. I really appreciated this high level of service and attention to detail. He really made us feel at home. Speaking of home, the rooms are stunning, and the soaking tub makes for a relaxing spa like experience in your own room.

We dined at Willow for both dinner and brunch and both meals were delicious. I had the Tagliatelle mushroom pasta dish for dinner and the stuffed french toast for brunch. Still dreaming and craving both dishes 2 weeks later. Servers wore masks, the ambiance was relaxing and romantic, and portions were appropriately sized.

We did not do any spa treatments because we were both a little leery about coming into close contact unnecessarily, but based on what I was told when I asked, it sounds like they are taking all the right safety measures for treatments like massages (client and therapist wear masks, therapist may wear two masks or a shield as well, therapist may were gloves if client wishes, etc). We did however spend a few hours one day enjoying the aqua terrace which was a real treat. This is the part of our stay that really made us feel further away from home than we actually were. We usually spend December vacations in warm weather countries sipping drinks by the pool. Mirbeau is as close to that as we've gotten this year! There was of course no warm weather, but we were able to order a bottle of wine and cheese platter and just completely zen out. Even in 30 degree temps it still felt amazing, the water is THAT hot.

All in all, we had a great weekend. Because it was cold, we did not explore much of the town, however we did have great meal at Terrapin which is just 2min away. We also visited two wineries that about within 30min of the inn, Millbrook and Milea, and both were a great time. Milea is newer and more modern, but the tasting at Millbrook was fun. Both places have grounds that I imagine are spectacular in warm weather with grapes on the vines so we definitely plan to return next summer.

As someone who travels a lot, I can tell you that here at Mirbeau you will experience a higher level of service then most other luxury hotels that I've stayed at. The staff is highly trained in customer service and are all very refined. TJ at the front desk took the time to explain the different features of the room. And I want to just point out the amazing service I observed from an employee named Jake, There was a disabled guest who was using the spa and I was around the corner in the bathroom but I could hear their whole interaction. Jake was incredibly kind and helpful to this gentleman, helping him into the shower, adjusting the water, reassuring him that he was there to help and just making sure this guest felt comfortable. I actually thought "wow" this was special to listen to and obviously I was impressed at the level of care Jake brought to this client.

Also the hotel and spa is very clean without the scent of strong cleaning materials. I greatly appreciate that as I want to be in as natural an environment as possible.

The location is also very convenient. You're basically right in the center of town.

Naturally, the hotel is a little pricey but if you can afford it, go for it. You definitely get what you pay for. I'll definitely be back again.

I can't say enough good things about the Mirbeau Inn & Spa in Rhinebeck. The hotel is immaculate, elegant and everything is brand new. TJ (who picked us up from the train) and Meg (at the front desk) were especially wonderful. The rooms are beautiful - fireplaces in every room, clawfoot soaking tubs, and the most comfortable beds. The spa is wonderful (though many of the guests could have used a refresher on what indoor voices mean in the relaxation room, and it would have been nice if the spa staff were better at enforcing a quiet atmosphere). The treatments we received were among the best we've ever had and there are complimentary fitness classes (albeit on a somewhat limited schedule). The restaurant is delicious and reasonably priced, and the town of Rhinebeck was charming and fun. Make sure to stop at Bread Alone, Sam's Sweet Shop, and the bookstore. It was a perfect weekend and we will definitely be back.

Let me start off by saying how charming Rhinbeck as a town is, but this isn't the place to stay! We thought we would give it a chance as two couples traveling together getting away for a long weekend. This hotel is made to sound fancy and chic, but that is not the case at all. The fireplace in the room doesn't actually give off heat, the clawfoot tub was literally just placed on blocks (we literally didn't feel comfortable using it), the shower head was taped up with actual tape and that was just the room. The spa area was cheap, cheap, cheap looking. Home Depot tiles with white grout that is already dirty, and then there is the actual dirt, the spa was filthy while we were there in the later afternoon. Hair balls, towels left everywhere, bathrooms with blood YES BLOOD, on the floors, etc. We had spa services, and not one of us enjoyed them. Two out of the four of us said our massage therapists hands were like sand paper and the other two said they wouldn't stop talking to them the entire time. Then there was all the "mix ups" at the front desk, couples massages turned into solo massages because they made a mistake, paying more then we were quoted, being told we would have to wait to pay (ended up standing around for 20 minutes because there was a literal line). Then there was the restaurant, ugggg. We had a 7pm reservation and when we sat down we were told they were out of the specials, the oysters and several other things that were on the normal menu, it was 7pm not 10pm. The bartender on duty made cocktails that were literally undrinkable and never took them off the bill. Three meals came out, and the forth we were told was late because culinary students had messed it up, and that it would be out shortly. It was a Friday night service, why were students cooking our food at $40 plus a plate and then having to wait around for the fourth meal (by the time we got it the rest of our food was cold). We had reservations for Saturday night as well, but cancelled and went to a wonderful place down the road instead!

This place is a pass, do not spend the money. The staff are not well trained, the food was not good, the service to be expected a motel not a hotel that claims such high standards and service. Shame on them + we will not be back! Icing on the cake, I looked at charged weeks later and realized I was over charged for the rooms, had to call and have prices changed to the tune of almost $300 this place was the worst!

There was nothing terrible about my stay at the Mirbeau Rhinebeck however there was also nothing remarkable which is disappointing for the cost of a stay. I stayed one night, with a friend for a girls getaway. We were not checked into our room until the very last minute of which they guarantee check in. Which i find frustrating since we had only a one night stay and when we asked for an accommodation for a delayed check out we were told a hard no. Hence we paid near $500 for a stay that amounted to 17 hours. I have come to expect white glove touches from a hotel in this class and those were all lacking. No touches from the hotel staff outside check in and check out. We did also use the spa; the spa is gorgeous and the facilities were very well maintained. Each time were were using the locker room someone was in there cleaning and refreshing toiletries. I personally had two spa services. My massage was amazing, highly recommend. My other service was a pedicure and would NOT recommend. Again, insanely overpriced. The technician applied such heavy coats of polish that even after 4 hours it was impossibly wet and had to be removed same week. I wish they did not impose tips on your bill because there is no way to really show your appreciation for good service, and on the flip side your tipping on bad service.
To sum it up, skip the lodging and get a day pass if your looking for a nice spa.

My mom and I took the amtrak from NYC which was a gorgeous ride up the Hudson. I had called the day before and the Mirbeau said that they would pick us up and, as soon as we got off the train, there they were waiting for us!

The hotel looks better than it does in the pictures. We got in on Sunday afternoon and our room wasn't ready yet so they held our baggage while we went to the spa. I have a 9 month old and this was my first escape from the house after giving birth and this was just what I needed. Staff was super attentive, the facilities are even nicer than what they look like on the internet, and the amenities are really great. The eucalyptus steam room is everything. The relaxing room will put you in a coma it's so relaxing. The salt water jacuzzi you will melt in. I also decided I wanted a manicure and they were able to immediately fit me in. My mom and I took a yoga class the nex day which was great plus they have a peloton bike.

The rooms were super spacious and better than the website made them look. The fireplace was very cute and the bath tub was bigger than my NYC apartment. Mirbeau toiletries are everything!!

The only downside I would say is that the food is super rich and pricey. I wish they had had more options for room service because the food was incredible, but I left feeeling like I had been eating straight up butter and we only had breakfast there. It was also extremely expensive and I'm not 100% sure it's worth the price, especially when you just want a damn sandwich after a yoga class and it's raining so you don't want to go anywhere.

We went to Terrapin for dinner the night before and I can definitely recommend it. Rhinebeck is super cute and walkable-very do-able without a car and from the train.

Overall the stay was amazing. Staff was incredibly accomodating. Facility is dreamy. I can't wait to go back!

My husband and I are frequent destination spa visitors and had high hopes for the ‘Mirbeau’ name. The standard massages and facials were good and the spa staff members were very warm and professional. Unfortunately, relaxation and cleanliness were far from top-notch: The relaxation area had big flaws. The fireplace is decorative, but on some kind of timer, there’s a noisy fountain with a bright light in the center of the room, chaises at the perimeter seem to encourage loud talking across them which can be heard everywhere. The staff did not enforce the ‘no electronics’ policy. There were multiple people using phones and laptops! We have not seen this allowed in any high-end resort spa.

The towels on the chaises don’t get replaced between clients, they were turned over and smoothed occasionally. The locker room and shower area were also not cleaned well. There seemed to be only one person responsible for the care of all areas.

The overall look and feel was well below the level we expected given Mirbeau’s Skaneateles reputation and the service prices.

We visited here for a few days of spa services, relaxation, and dining to celebrate a birthday and anniversary. Good-sized room with chairs, large bath with soaking tub, and electric fireplace that gives off a nice glow. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Recommend staying on the top floor or somehow assuring no one is staying in the room directly above you. For our stay, the room above was occupied and we could hear the occupant seemingly trying to get his/her steps in for the day with stomping across the floor all during the day and evening, starting as early as 6:30 in the morning. Keep your clothes in your suitcase, as the chest of drawers is difficult to open/close. Having the forest view is worth an extra charge.

My husband and I just returned home after spending a lovely weekend at this cozy and expertly run hotel/spa in Rhinebeck. An easy drive from Westchester County and surrounding areas, the hotel is set back slightly from the center of town, making all restaurants and shops an easy and short walk away. In fact, we did not move our car after we arrived, making it all the more relaxing.

The hotel is in excellent condition and appears brand new. The rooms are spacious, and the entire property is immaculate. The spa, outdoor hot tub pool and common areas are welcoming, with the gentle sound levels and tranquil ambiance enhancing the getaway experience. Looking forward to truly experiencing the setting, my husband and I both had spa services; signature massages and the grand cru facial. I would highly recommend Mirabeau massage therapist "Ben" as his technique is one of the best I have ever experienced.

Overall, we had a terrific weekend at Mirabeau, thanks to the friendly, highly skilled and professional staff, in particular Jake in the hotel and spa areas, Christopher of the hotel's restaurant, Willow, and Maritza of the spa. Together with the front desk personnel, these very helpful and accomodating Mirabeau staff members made our much needed getaway one we will remember, and hopefully get to repeat next year.

No pools, indoor or out. There is a very large (approx. 30' x 6') hot tub Jacuzzi with an adjoining bar. Steam rooms and saunas are located in each (men's & women's) locker rooms.
