Restored historic home that provides comfort and charm as a B&B. Overlooking the water and a close walk to everything you'd need in town, Belva Lockwood Inn is a perfect spot for a weekend getaway, celebrating a special occasion or just treating yourself to a nice stay. Julie & Ike, the owners are friendly and welcoming and we had a great conversation one evening out on the front porch. They really make you feel at home. From comfortable beds to great water pressure in the showers there are little touches throughout that show an attention to detail and design. Looking forward to returning!!

The owners of the Belva Lockwood Inn have utterly mastered the art of hospitality. We were completely blown away at every turn of our stay! Their small town, country lifestyle, puts the big city “hospitality” to shame. By the time we checked out, I felt like they were my favorite aunt and uncle and I couldn’t wait to visit again! When I initially called to book, I was considering booking two rooms so my kids (3 & 2) would have a bed to sleep in. Ike said he’d look around and see if one of the neighbors had a couple pack n’ plays I could use so I wouldn’t have to book the extra room. No one does that unless they care about people more than they care about money!! We ended up staying in the Gorman Suite and the kids had pack n’ plays in the sitting room (which saved us a ton of money on our lodging). We felt so cared about! During our stay I had a mishap where my luggage fell over in the hallway and the handle made a gash in the paint. I was mortified. I showed them the damage and offered to pay for it. They waved it off and said it was no big deal. I tried insisting, but they wouldn’t let me pay for it. Throughout my stay they were super helpful at recommending places to visit and places to eat. They ended up recommending MJ’s Bar and Restaurant down the road. We got their chicken noodle soup, their clam chowder, and some grilled bread for dipping. It was beyond heavenly. There was love in every bite! The last night of our stay at the Inn, we told them we were going to be checking out super early the next morning and they offered to bring our breakfast early and have it in a to-go bag so we could eat it on the road. Once again, their thoughtfulness totally blew me away! I just can’t say enough good things about them. As for the house itself, its located across the street from the Susquehanna River and is absolutely gorgeous! I loved learning about it’s rich 150 year history from the booklet in our room, the pictures around the house, and the owners themselves. This was by far one of the nicest places we’ve ever stayed at! This Inn is hidden gem and a MUST-STAY if you’re traveling to or through southern New York! We give the Belva Lockwood Inn ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

On a roadtrip that I specifically left unplanned I had the wonderful experience of staying at the Belva Lockwood Inn. I was so appreciative of the last minute accommodations, Brie, the innkeeper personally took my reservation mid afternoon for that same night, and along with her husband, greeted me upon arrival. The house is gorgeous, meticulously maintained with so many historical items to look at. The room was spacious, the bed was dreamy, and I loved the view of the river out the beautiful original wooden shutters. The ensuite bathroom was modern, the shower was intuitive, and the provided bath robe was an extra special touch. A picnic basket breakfast was delivered outside the bedroom door, and the scone warm as if it were just out of the oven ensured my day's adventure began wonderfully. Everything about the Belva Lockwood Inn was outstanding: location on the water and in a cute historic town, the impressive history of the namesake, the knowledge and friendliness of the innkeepers (and their sweet elderly dog!), the bedroom, the breakfast - truly among the best b&bs, and lodgings in general, that I have stayed in. As a solo traveler I felt warmly welcomed. I highly recommend the Belva Lockwood Inn to anyone who may be traveling thru the Fingerlakes region!

We were looking for a place to stay one night in Owego on our way to a family reunion in Watkins Glen. After reading the reviews, we settled on the Belva Lockwood Inn. The innkeepers welcomed us as we got out of the car and they showed us to our room - the Knickerbocker. One whole wall of the room is made out of pieces of cut glass -illuminated by LED lighting. The bed was comfy and the room had a large walk-in shower.

There were all kinds of snacks and drinks, including complementary wine in the evening. For breakfast, we had a very delicious picnic basket full of goodies delivered to our room (taking into account our previously disclosed food allergies).

I had a chance to read more about the amazing Belva Lockwood and I don’t know why I had never heard of her before! She was a powerhouse woman who ran for President (two times) before women even had the right to vote. I really enjoyed our (too) short visit to the Belva Lockwood Inn!

I was so impressed with the easy check in process and warm welcoming from the inn keepers, Matt and Brie. From arrival to departure it was a wonderful experience. The breakfast that Brie delivers to your room in a picnic basket each morning was such a surprise and so delicious. My friend and I couldn’t wait to see what would be in the basket each morning. Some of the goodies included fresh fruit, fresh baked scones, acacia bowls, and always a fresh pot of hot coffee. Truly so delightful. My favorite part of the stay was lounging on the large front porch, ( sipping some wine), and watching all the people walk by. Every person seemed to look our way and give us a nice greeting. It is obvious that Matt and Brie have gotten to know many of the residents since they even knew the names of their pets as they took an evening stroll. The inn itself is so beautiful. We stayed in the 2 room suite which I would highly recommend, but took a tour of some of the other rooms which are equally as beautiful but each has their own different decor and story behind it. My friend and I enjoyed ourselves so much we made another reservation in the fall and decided to include our husbands. There are so many vineyards near the inn that are beautiful as well. Most are right on one of the lakes. In the fall we plan to go hiking a little to nearby waterfalls. I saw pictures of several that are amazing and can’t wait to see them. If you didn’t want to venture out, the inn is located in the village of Oswego, so everything is so close. You can walk to stores, gift shops, cafes, and even a wine bar. We ate in town several times and enjoyed our meals. Before I finish, I must include 2 things. First, Brie knows so much about the history behind Belva Lockwood and is eager to share with her guests. It is very interesting. Second, I didn’t mention the view! From the front porch there is a beautiful view of the river directly across the street. So relaxing in the morning and evening to enjoy the breeze off the water and peaceful scenery. Can’t wait to go back.

My husband and I spent a long weekend here in early October celebrating our anniversary. We were warmly welcomed by Ike and Julie on Friday afternoon and were given a tour of the lovingly updated property. Our room was well appointed with a very comfortable queen-size bed and beautifully finished bathroom. We were in the Gorman suite which has a sitting room overlooking the backyard. Everything was just perfect, from the repurposed piano which now serves as the bar on the main floor of the house, to the comfortable porch accommodations, to breakfast baskets delivered to your door. They easily accommodated my gluten free dietary needs. Ike could have a side gig as a local tour guide too! He gave us great recommendations for biking and hiking activities and Julie’s advice for dining out was spot on. Did I mention the view of the Susquehanna River from the front porch?! Beautiful. We can’t wait to go back.

The Belva Lockwood is a special place owned by two special people. Ike and Julie have restored this home that is steeped in history with such care and love it is evident in every detail. They have truly thought of everything to make you feel welcome and comfortable. Located along the water and a close walk to the quaint town of Owego makes it the perfect home base for exploring. It is also Just a short 30 min drive to Ithaca and Cayuga Lake area, which is home to some of the most beautiful hiking I have every experienced, and there is plenty to explore and do around the region. So many beautiful colors to see this time of year. Whether we were out for the day exploring, just relaxing on the Belva's exquisite front porch with a bottle of wine or cozying up by the fire pit in the evening, Ike and Julie always made sure to offer plenty of options for whatever mood we were in! This was our second stay and we will be back again next Fall.

Recently restored historic B&B with very comfortable rooms, great staff and perfect location. The Inn is quite spacious for a historic building and the bar/dining room and seating areas were very comfortable, with a great selection of drinks and snacks. The front porch has a nice view of the beautiful bend in the Susquehanna River, and it's only a block away from Owego's historic downtown. We had the choice of a picnic basket breakfast or dining at the Owego Kitchen (also owned by Julie and Ike) which is only about a block away. The food at the Owego Kitchen was excellent and we are looking forward to another stay!

Excellent stay in an extremely comfortable, cozy hospitable inn within walking distance of town. The inn keepers Matthew and Bria clearly love hosting and go above and beyond to make guests feel welcome. Breakfasts are delivered via baskets and are scrumptious! Guests can help themselves to snacks and beverages, including a daily complimentary alcoholic beverage each day of your stay. The outdoor wrap around porch is comfy and lovely for relaxing and the indoor furnishings are very well appointed. I slept great in the beds and the house is solidly built and quiet- we never heard any noise from other guests or rooms. The location is ideal for exploring several hot spots including Watkins Glen, the Ithaca Farmers Market and gorges, falls, and Corning Museum. Highly recommend!

Everything about our anniversary stay at the Belva Lockwood Inn was perfect. Within hours of making our reservation, the owner reached out via email to check on our arrival time & food restrictions/allergies. We were cheerfully greeted & made to feel welcome, and we were shown where we could find complimentary drinks & snacks. In the morning, a delightful picnic basket with breakfast was left at our door. The Belva Lockwood is a stunning property & we couldn't get over the attention to even the smallest details. The bar was fabulous & we loved our room (the Tioga). Owego is a beautiful (and very walkable) little town, and I recommend a visit if you get the chance. The locals and the owners of the inn are just as friendly and charming as the town itself....like stepping back in time. Go!
