We had a wonderful stay at Margaret Haynes White House B and B in Old Forge, New york in the Adirondaks. It is an old refurbished house within walkin g distance of restaurants, shops and canoes to rent. It has everything you could want in a b and b. There is plenty of relaxing spaces inside and on the porch and comfortable, adorable bedrooms and baths and the town is cute. Prices were very reasonable and the hostess was very accomodating. Wonderful, wonderful place to stay in Old Forge...especially to get away from the typical motels in the mountains. Margaret is simply charming. Breakfast was delicious and she made accomodation for my fiance's dislike of eggs. Choose this b and b if you can!

I was pleased to find this B&B right smack in the middle of Old Forge. It's within walking distance from many venues and an easy drive to many other places in this beautiful part of the world. Margaret is a gracious host who not only prepares sumptuous breakfasts but gives you good suggestions on where to visit or to shop and offers tea or coffee even when you didn't realize you needed it! Margaret pays attention to your interests and is always looking for different ways to meet the needs of different people.

The White House is lovely. My bed and pillows were very comfortable and I did have a private bathroom in my room, which is not the case for all the rooms. (You may have your own bathroom but you might have to walk down the hall to it, or even up a flight of stairs.) Margaret did reveal that to me over the phone and I was very appreciative of that.

For those of you who use a GPS to arrive at your destination, I learned that you are better off using 2945 Route 28, instead of 2945 Main Street, because some GPS software take you to a very different location. The White House B&B is truly right on the main drag going through Old Forge so, if you're directed to the woods, you'll be going the wrong way! Stay on Route 28!

White House B&B was a great place to visit for the fall foliage, which was spectacular this year!

I selected this B&B because all the reviews were so good. Guess what? They're all right! This is a lovely place to stay in for a visit to the Adirondacks.

We have been staying with Mrs. Margaret Haynes, The Inn Keeper for many years. Simply put - it doesn't get any better than this. She is a gracious hostess and the White House Inn is spectacular in both decore and comfort. It is very centrally located to downtown, the mountains and the Moose River - all is within walking distance.
If you're looking for a place to stay in Old Forge - make reservations here - you'll be back.

Words can not describe how memorable and lovely our stay was at The White House Inn. Margaret (the owner and keeper) is a tremendous women, making our stay with her feel like we were family coming home again. Our trip to Old Forge was for our 1st wedding anniversary. When we got into our room, we found a sweet card from Margaret on the bedside stand. The house itself is charming and extremely well-kept. We are already planning our next trip back to visit Margaret at the Inn. We highly recommend this B&B to anyone coming to the Old Forge area. We promised you that staying at the Inn will be one of the highlights of your trip! :)

This was my first time staying at a B & B and I absolutely adored it. The rooms were cute, with everything we could need, she had a different color robe in all the rooms. I went up with my my and my boyfriend. we shared a bathroom with my mom which was absolutely fine because we had a sink right in our room! Ms. Margaret makes a wonderful breakfast each morning, and coffee while you are waiting. She gives you a key to the house in case you plan on staying out late. Overall she is just so nice and sweet, it felt like I was staying at a grandmother's house I was so comfortable.

Every inch of the inn is beautifully furnished, comfortable, and very inviting. It is a truly, sparkling clean B and B! Margaret, the inn keeper, is a lovely woman who takes pains to make sure that her guests are well taken care of, including serving a delicious homemade breakfast. My only caveat is that if you want a private bathroom that is IN your room, be sure to specify that. We reserved a room with a private bath, but it turned out to be a bath down the hall from our room. While Margaret did put our name on the bathroom door, other guests did use the bathroom. A lock on the door with a key given to the guest paying for the private bath would be a good idea as well as letting potential guests know that the bathroom is not IN the room. Our stay was lovely none-the-less, and I would highly recommend this B and B! You will not be disappointed!

I can't say enough about the gracious hosting provided by Margaret Haynes at Haynes White House B&B in Old Forge, NY. The inn itself is like something out of a postcard picture, and Margaret ensure that everyone feels completely at home and comfortable. The sleeping rooms are cozy and comfortable, the main floor is tastefully decorated with antiques and downstairs there is a wonderful space for playing games or just enjoying good company and conversation. If you've never visited, you owe it to yourself to drop in. The prices are very reasonable and Margaret provides a great breakfast as well. What's not to love!? (We traveled earlier than the dates we were allowed to select here, but Margaret is timeless.)

I was considering staying at the Waters Edge for this overnight, but was really turned off by their rates. I also was concerned about the condition of the property. My friend had told me she stayed in a B&B in Inlet for an event over the winter and had a great experience. This prompted me to investigate B&B's in Old Forge, which is where I was interested in visiting. I am so glad I did! Staying at The Haynes White House Inn was a real treat! The property is immaculate. The rooms were extremely nice and comfortable. The breakfast was delicious. Margaret Haynes was a wonderful host and could not have been more hospitable. I will definately be a return guest.

You can search using "White House Inn Old Forge, NY" and click on their webpage. The website has a place where you can make reservations but they don't start until June, 2017. The email address might be suspended until the season starts. If you're successful, it is a great place to stay.
