The location of the motel was very nice, a short walk to town. We had a king room facing the water with a small patio and two Adirondack chairs and a table. The room was simply decorated with two chairs, a round table and chest of drawers with a microwave and fridge. There was no coffee pot supplied and if you wanted a hair dryer I guess they had one available upon asking. The bathroom was small but clean with a pedestal sink, so no where to put anything. They did have a separate cabinet in the room with a sink which was convenient.

The breakfast was grab and go. The first day was disappointing with very limited offerings. Fruit cup, yogurt, pre-packaged danish and bagels. The coffee was the worst I had ever had. Second day there we didn't even go for the breakfast. I don't know if it gets better after the Covid thing or if this is their normal offerings. Take your own coffee pot if you want good coffee and I always take my own coffee mug since I do not like drinking from Styrofoam. Sorry -- a breakfast buffet is only as good as their coffee and this was bad!

We stayed in a renovated double queen room and were happy with the accommodations. The room is fairly spacious and offers 2 sinks, one in the bathroom and one just outside. The renovated room also includes a microwave and refrigerator. The AC unit worked well and the view overlooking the lake was nice. The queen beds were on the firm side and each had 3 pillows (would have liked 1 more) that were also on the firm side. It was also odd there are no tissues in the room either. During the pandemic, the breakfast offering isn't that great, consisting of prepackaged muffins, danish, bagles, coffee and juice. The indoor pool was nice but a little on the cool side. All things considered, we felt the room rate was a little on the high side.

Stayed for three nights with my daughter and dog in an upgraded pet friendly, lake view room. The room was spacious, we had two queen beds, they were comfortable enough, the room was very clean. However, there are no amenities such as a blow dryer or iron.
The AC worked great, and there is a heater/light in the bath if you are here for the winter months. The bathroom really needs a couple hooks and a towel bar. There is literally no where to put any of your clothing. No vanity for the sink, it is small and supported by one metal bar. Water pressure was fine. The location is what you pay for here. There are a couple Adirondack chairs and a table outside the door, and it was great to relax out there, look at the water and watch the extremely tame deer that frequent the area. There is a beach two minutes away(not dog friendly) , a boat rental right across the street and town is right outside the door. I would have gone five stars but our TV didn’t work the last night and after 10 PM there is no one to call for assistance. Overall I would stay again...the positives out weighed the minor negatives.

There was a lot of work being done on part of the hotel, sounds like they sustained some roof damage during some recent severe weather. There were also rooms being entirely renovated with appliances lining parts of the lobby area. The lobby was quite nice and looked as if it was recently upgraded. The indoor pool was super nice, but as others have said it was on the cold side especially for mid-May.

The woman who was in the lobby when we arrived seemed as though she could care less that we were there. She was friendly enough but not overly chatty and when asked what she recommended for dinner she was less than enthused to provide any information.

The room had an amazing view and was very clean. Nothing fancy, super basic with a fridge and microwave. The sliding screen door was a plus but would have been nicer had the screen not been busted in places. It was also nice that our room had a door connecting to our family's room that we could open. Despite it being super basic, I was impressed with the location and cleanliness of the room. I would certainly stay here again if I was in the area.

First keep in mind the price point, our night was only $109 +tax. For that the room was spotless, the bed and pillows were very comfortable. The bathroom was divided with two sinks so we could both get ourselves together at the same time. Coffee and a light continental breakfast available in the office, not much but enough to get your day started. Also a great location, lake view and one block off Main Street. We stay at least once a year and some of the buildings have remodeled rooms so it’s worth asking about that when you book, the renovated rooms are very nice!
There is also a small fridge and microwave for dinner leftovers and beverages.
In my opinion it’s the the best value in town without spending $200+ /night.
See you next year!

Booked a pet friendly room for one night while driving through on the way to lake placid.
The office is spacious but smelled very strongly of deodorizer. The building is run down, very dated and scary looking on the outside. See photos. When we checked into room #2, there was a very strong odor of previous pets in a dark brown carpeted room. The beds were covered with cheap rough dark brown bed covers. The bathroom door hinges were rusted and spider web was in the corner. We opened the patio door to air out a bit then decided to head out for a walk & dinner. When we returned, we decided we couldn’t stay there. We checked out and were told that “no refund will be made”; we paid $265.21 with a pet fee. Was not even asked why we were leaving early nor did she seem to care. We were so relieved to not have stayed at this gross place. Not recommended

Right in the heart of everything! We walked most of the time, walking distance to the public beach, water safari, local shops etc. The pool was clean, the room was clean and updated! The housekeeper made my daughters bed with her stuffed animals. The deer come right up to the room.
Breakfast is “grab and go”. Muffins, bagels, fruit cup, yogurt.. coffee and juice.

The ONLY thing I wish is the fridge and microwave were included. They are extra.

The place is nothing home to write about, it's a place to stay in a tourist town. The rooms are archaic and the beds are not the most comfortable. The maids are really nice and do a good job. The front desk is hit or miss, either someone who knows a lot or someone who knows nothing. The place has a huge outside area facing the Lake and tables and chairs. Plus, the pool is inside and small but feels really nice. The best thing about this place is that is convenient with so many things in Old Forge and I would stay here again.

Excellent facility with very friendly owners and staff. They want to make sure your visit is good! Breakfast in the morning so it is easy to get going! Indoor pool if you are so inclined! Parking for our sleds right in front of our patio doors. Good parking for our truck and trailer. Easy walking distance to the Restaurants or the Old Hardware. Easy access to get gas for sleds and on to the trails!
