If you are looking to stay someplace while on a ski trip this is definitely the place to go. After spending the hours on the ski trails you can get back to your room and feel like you are still on the mountain. Because they do not believe in giving you any heat or hot water. Don't really seem to concerned about your complaints because as everyone they too have problems. I will say though that the food was good. Just wish the hot meal I had stayed hot while I was eating it. The cold draft coming in cooled the food down in about 5 minutes. Found out from a friend I met that this was nothing new. Owners were having problems before the holidays when he was there. When we arrived we were under the impression that this just happened and things were going to be corrected as soon as possible. So really If you love to participate in the polar plunge and such then this hotel is right up your alley.
We had one night here on July 8. It was very clean and quiet. Very nice little chalets , cosy decor with a real wood burning fireplace . It was quite hot the day we were there so we didn't use it but it must be so nice on a chilly evening . We didn't have the view from our back patio we were expecting (we thought we would be able to see the mountains but from our room just thick trees and a parking lot /roadway . The rooms do not have ac so the room was quite warm for sleeping . There was a portable fan but it didn't help much. Ac would have been awesome . The free shuttle into town was a great service and available quickly upon demand . Staff were friendly and accommodating . We would definately go back. Hot tub area also looked quite nice .
Ice Cold Room, no coffee, no food, rate charged at check out was $30 more than quoted over the phone at time of reservation. We had to drive miles to get a cup of coffee and food. We will not stay there again. Lots of better places nearby. To avoid a surprise, be careful to get your credit card "receipt" for the price of your room!!
Bartender (Alyssa) is great. Waitress (Chantel) and Owner Mark are nice. Food was good also. However - if you care more about the guts...Room was probably the worst I ever stayed in. Its 70's decor which didn't bother me as I'm more into function than look. The function - water in the shower was terrible - I'm guessing it just needs the head replaced - but should have been replaced a very long time ago. Lights - (4) 40 watt bulbs for a big room is just silly. Pony up and get stronger bulbs for the room. The beds - wow - I am guessing the same full size beds from about 50 years ago. Absolutely horrible and terrible. My feet fell off the bottom (6 foot) and the mattress should have been destroyed a very long time ago. Couch bed was broken and a guy couldn't sleep on it. Daybed needed a new mattress a long time ago. Towels - we only had 2 towels for a room with 4 guys. I asked for 2 more and they had to go steal them from another room? I guess when spending many hundreds a night I expected more.
When we arrived, the lodge was without water. Everyone was honest and helpful, allowing us to locate alternate lodging. From our experience, we would definitely try back again under better conditions. Definitely not their fault that their water was out. Everyone was professional, courteous, and accommodating.
