In February I visited the Fairfield Inn and Suites Niagara Falls, and things did not go well. I had the opportunity to share my concerns with the property manager. He asked that I contact him prior to my next trip, and he would personally ensure a better experience. A couple of weeks before my April visit, I emailed him, and he immediately responded. We exchanged a few messages and he committed to making the upcoming visit a great experience.

When I arrived, I was greeted and assisted by one of the stellar staff members I had encountered before. She did a great job getting me checked in and assisting with a couple of requests. I had the chance to observe her checking in other guests all with that same level of enthusiasm and professionalism she had assisting me.

The room was perfect, clean with zero discrepancies. The suites are modern and spacious, one of the reasons I like this property so much. The common areas were clean and well maintained. Both the rooms and common areas are modern, well kept, and do not show the wear and tear you often see on other tourist location properties.

For those not familiar with the area, the hotel is in a great location. It is within walking distance of all the major attractions but far enough away that things are quiet and peaceful in the evening hours. This is one of the few properties I know of in the area that offer a complimentary breakfast, do not charge for parking, and do not add in that ridiculous resort/destination fee.

Here is the bottom line. I had a bad experience and addressed it with the manager. He said he would make things right if I gave them another chance. He stayed true to his word and delivered on that commitment. Most property managers offer ‘lip service,’ saying they want to make things right and then forgetting who you are fine minutes later. The manager and team at this hotel deliver on their promises and I am extremely grateful. This has been my ‘go-to’ hotel in the Niagara area for a few years. Like anything, there have been a few hiccups here and there, but they get it right far more than wrong. If they do have a misstep, they make it right if given the chance. I recommend this property and will stay again!

I would have provided this feedback sooner but can only comment on the same property once every three months.

I stay at this property about five to six times per year. This has been my "go-to" hotel in the Niagara area because of its location, value (no parking or resort/destination fees), and comfortable rooms. I had a few concerns after my last trip which I brought to the manager's/owner's attention. He asked that I let him know the next time I was visiting so he could personally ensure the best stay possible. I contacted him about a week before arrival and, true to his word, he delivered on his promise. Great room, cleaned/sanitized perfectly and, he stopped by within a half-hour of my checking in to ensure everything was perfect. He said he would make things right and he and his staff more than delivered on that promise, they hit it out of the park. I am looking forward to my next trip in a couple of months. Recommend this property if you are in the Niagara Falls area.

No hot breakfast (the reason I booked our rooms here) which I understand, just wish I had been notified beforehand. The worst part was NO housekeeping ANY of the three days we were there. No fresh towels, not even trash pick-up when we were having to eat meals in our room because restaurants were take out only. We took out our own trash but didn’t have replacement trash bags. I understand the coved problems, but some basic housekeeping would have been nice. Also , both the pool and exercise rooms were closed. Didn’t notify us about this either.

Overall the Fairfield looks like a newer property from the online pictures and even when approaching from the street. Unfortunately, they are cutting corners on the general upkeep of the interior of the property. Hallways and stairwells need a good vacuum and maintenance of lighting. Housekeeping, currently only in between guests, is lackluster: Toilets were soiled urine, stains on the furniture, drips on the walls, hair on bathroom floors. We tried another set of rooms (but sadly, they were equally poor in cleaning quality), so we asked for another housekeeping pass through our room prior to committing to our stay, which was accommodated. The front desk person was upset that we asked for a cleaner space and needed to consult with the manager who was off-site even though the hotel was less than 20% occupied. We avoided the pool due to a grimy appearance as well.

We enjoyed our stay and felt very comfortable amidst the pandemic! Everyone was required to wear masks and there were many hand sanitizer stations located throughout the hotel. The hotel was further from the main “downtown” area than we thought, but getting to niagara falls was still easily walkable. Only negative is that we noticed multiple housekeeping staff not wearing masks in the elevators and hallways.

Front desk staff were pleasant and friendly. Room was clean and neat. However, we were surprised that housekeeping did not come to room to clear waste bins or make beds. For the three (3) nights that we spent at this hotel, housekeeping never came did anything. We had to ask for new towels and for the waste bins to be cleared and we actually handed the housekeeper our towels and trash bags. This is first hotel that we have ever experienced this.

This hotel is a good value with complimentary parking in a convenient walkable location to Niagara Falls state park. Hotel has very cordial helpful staff. The pillows were comfortable, good television, very warm room to chase away the cold outside. Excellent large walk in shower impeccably clean with nice products in large dispensers. Great coffee and exceptional breakfast burrito of beef and potato with plenty of green salsa and red salsa on the side. Everything was clean and sanitary and sanitizer readily available in breakfast area and lobby.

When we entered the room, we were not pleased to find the housekeeping blue microfiber cleaning cloth draped on the ice bucket/coffee maker. Later, we also saw another blue microfiber cleaning cloth in the hallway near the elevator.

I did not have a good sleep experience in Room 309 because the bed was lumpy and sunken in the middle. The mattresses definitely need replacing or turning/rotating.

One night when I was shampooing, I was dismayed and aggravated that the wall dispenser hair conditioner bottle was completely empty. It was awful not having the conditioner to detangle and smooth out my hair.
The bathroom door did not fully open and it swung halfway closed which then bumped into our backs while we were standing at the sink.
We had a 2 night stay and there were not enough towel bars to hang up damp towels for reuse since daily housekeeping was not available.

I had requested a quiet room away from the elevator and ice machine when I had booked a few months earlier. I had confirmed my request close to my arrival date with the hotel. However, I was given Room #309, which is close to the elevator and Ice machine. It was very noisy due to the people entering and exiting the elevator and people obtaining ice at the ice machine.

This hotel is located in a mixed residential/industrial/commercial area. It is 2 blocks from a NY Power Authority facility. The streets around the hotel are desolate and do not have much foot traffic.
The free parking lot faces residential homes. It is across the street from the Seneca Casino on Rainbow Boulevard.

The bedroom has a rolling ottoman, desk & chair, upholstered corner chair, lamp, mini refrigerator and microwave. There were many outlets to charge devices. The TV is a 42" LG model.

The breakfast area is large and has different hot breakfast entrees every day.
We did not utilize the pool and fitness center.

As a Wyndham Silver elite member, I am quite disappointed at this Marriott brand hotel. I had expected a better guest experience and the above stated issues are unacceptable. This hotel needs to try harder as a Marriott brand hotel.

Room tip: Check all wall dispenser bath products upon entering to be sure that they have product in them. Check mattresses to see if they are level, not depressed and sunken. Do not get Room 309.

Stayed 5 nights June 4-9. Probably would not have stayed here if Canada was open. Read some of the previous reviews, I was very hesitant. Should have stuck with my intuition.

There is no “breakfast” some packages of instant oatmeal, couple of muffins. Last day of stay, no breakfast. No servicing of the rooms. I asked for new towels clerk at the front desk told me to bring the dirty towels to her and she would give me new towels. Really!! The desk clerks would stay in the back room and you have to ring a doorbell to get some one to come out.

Comforter was dirty, microwave broken and curtains did not work. I called Marriott customer service and complained. Hoping to get my points back. I asked for the manager to call me Rick Patel. He called and offered me a servicing of our room! Funny I thought that was included in the stay!

This hotel is a embarrassment to the Marriott brand! Do not stay here!! BEWARE!!

This Fairfield is a fairly new property so it has many of the modern features. It is also kept clean by its staff. There was a some kind of spill on the elevator floor at late night and I thought it won’t get cleaned until the next day, but within 20 minutes, I noticed the young lady who checked us in was mopping the elevator floor. The location is good as it’s about a 15 minute walk to the Niagara Falls State Park.

You can park at the Waterfalls , Goat Island, and Downtown area for $10 or $15 all day by the Niagara Falls State Park system. Save your parking receipt and show to the parking attendant when you enter a different parking lot. The walk to the Waterfalls about 12-15 minutes from the hotel, the area is too quiet to walk.

It's been while since I stayed at this Hotel, so I can't remember much about it, other than it being nice and clean. I doubt you will get anything special here! Try the other Marriott chain 'Sheraton'. They did give us a surprise gift (Wine and chocolates)
