Hotel's Favourite
Everything is clean and serviceable. Booked a night just to keep points that were about to expire, and to meet an old college friend for lunch tomorrow at the Olympic/Olympia? down the road (highly reccomend!) Honestly, I just booked the cheapest HIE on the site through the rewards program, and it's fine. Like some reviews mentioned, it is more dated than a brand new HIE, but nothing concerning. We always stay at HIE and only recently discovered the rewards program (Duh...lol) I usually travel with my ten year old and I would have no problem bringing her here. I know the 'hood is not the best, but I grew up down the boulevard in Amherst and am framiliar with the area. It's kinda fun to take the old way to the falls, down NF Blvd, and see the really old motels (definitely do not stay in any of those!) This hotel is just across from Niagara Falls international Airport, and it's about 8-10 miles to the falls/park. Many reviews I see are for the wrong hotel, the downtown HIE, where the rates are similar, but parking is $17. It is free here during your stay. I would call this a basic, family friendly and very budget friendly place to stay. If a *newer* interior matters to you, try the other Niagara Falls Blvd location in Tonawanda. About 10min away. That one is more updated, modern furnishings, etc. We have stayed there too.I don't care about stuff like that, this I fine. It's a place to sleep, and relax, it's clean and the staff were fantastic upon check in. I used to be a maid, I always bring Lysol wipes and go over everything major, the surfaces were clean. The maids are doing a good job. Lampshade is a little dusty and the room could use another lamp and an easy chair, but I am sure they will remodel soon. All in all, any HIE is a good place to stay. You know what to expect and the rewards program is great. Beds are always comfortable, linen clean. Free wifi and decentTV. If you have kids the will love the pool, and there is a workout center and free breakfast as well. HIE is a good affordable brand, and after an awful, and kind of hilarious "Motel (insert number after 5 here)" stay in Syracuse 3 years ago, we will always book HIE. I learned my lesson, anything can be made to look nice on cheapo booking sites online. You know what you are getting with any IHG brand. Fair prices and a good basic to modern room that is clean.

The staff were great, but over the hotel was not up to the standard that I am used to from Holiday Inn Express. Furniture in the room and public areas were worn and stained, room was mostly clean but some areas like the lamps and chair backs were dusty. Appreciate the fact they have an arrangement with the local trolley to take you into town for free, but we were not advised we needed masks to board. As we were a large group the trolley driver was good enough to let us board anyway. Internet was very slow.

The staff here were professional, friendly and helpful. The hotel property is clean and well maintained. The bed was very comfortable. The water got hot quickly. The shower’s water pressure was adequate yet I would have liked it a bit stronger. I was in a room with two queen beds. There was enough room for me to stretch out and relax. If there was another person with me we would still have had enough room. Yet if there were four people it would have been a bit crowded. The hotel is conveniently located to touristy places and restaurants. THe hotel is reasonably priced. Yet it seemed a bit much to add $15 to park at the hotel’s parking lot

Stayed two nights end of June 2020, and when we drove up, hotel appeared to be recently built. Check in was fine, and due to COVID 19, was not crowded. Could definitely smell disinfectant being used. No breakfast bar but they would prepare you take out sack of pre-packaged items of your choice. Beds were fine but others furniture was clean but very worn and dated. And the bathroom was large but the toilets were very low with nothing near to hold on if you needed a little help.

Stayed for two nights over Labor Day weekend. Room was just clean enough but in total furniture and fixtures have seen their lifetime. Common areas could use a good wipe down and spider webs removed from doorways. I found it ridiculous that they charge their guests for parking.

Dear Valsinnj, Thanks for taking the time to share your experience. We appreciate the feedback from our guests and please know that your concerns are our concerns. I am not sure about the parking fee you mentioned as we do not charge for daily parking, we do however charge for parking if you choose to park your car when flying out of the Niagara airport. If you feel you were charged in error please reach out to the hotel directly. We hope to see you again soon.

We stayed here for one night. I wouldn’t want to stay more than that probably. It was ok. The price on a Saturday was WAY too high for this hotel. The room smelled very musty upon entering. It ended up making all of us stuff up through the night, which went away after we left. The bathroom needed some repairs, but was clean enough. The carpet was stained badly in spots and one spot was sticky when I stepped on it accidentally. GROSS! There was lots of dust on the lamp base on the night stand. The curtains had holes in them and so did the bed sheet. We were woken up in the middle of the night by very loud footsteps above us. I don’t know if the people were being extra loud or if the ceilings were just so thin you’d always hear footsteps. The positives were, the bed was comfortable, the front desk attendant was friendly, and breakfast was very good for an included breakfast. If the room could get some much needed deep cleaning and repairs and throw out sheets with holes, this could be a very nice property. I would never spend what we did to stay here again though.

I just wished I took pictures of my room...the lamp shades were crack needing a replacement. the carpet was dirty. The one chair in the room was torn up. Bobby, who works in the breakfast area was the best he is very friendly and made sure the tables stayed clean and the food was stocked at all times.

Stayed 2 nights April 8- 10.. got to room rough shape. Went to night staff was informed Yes many rooms are in bad shape.. no revenue to upgrade rooms.. offered$ 20.00 Discount for each night. Didn’t get another room as the next one could have been just as bad. Had a 90 year old mother who was tired from 4 hour road trip. So we stayed in that room. Had to use towel on seats of chairs as they were threadbare. Had No housekeeping all weekend. Left Sunday morning, within 1 -1 1/2 hrs , realized we had left passports in room. Called they were there went back. Got visa bill 3 days later, they charged us for damage to room. Said desk top was ruined and charged me 259. Canadian for the damages. They then said they told me about this already.. did not say a word. Hotel management would not call me to discuss. Called IHG customer care .. they didn’t do anything either.. what a deplorable way to treat customers
I would not recommend this hotel to any one. The hotel clerk stated that they were not able to do room upgrades as Covid had effected their revenue. Is this how they get funds to do upgrades by scamming their customers… SHAME!!! I will need to think twice before going back to a Holiday Inn property

Buyer beware there is a $10.80 parking fee that’s been added three months ago. The breakfast room was so crowded we had to sit in the hallway to eat while people were walking by with their luggage. When a recommendation was made to the staff to put a sign for overflow to go to the meeting room they said it’s not their responsibility. It’s the persons responsibility who manages the kitchen. Staff needs training to know how to answer public correctly and to be more aware of people’s needs.

This hotel worked out very well for us. It was clean, pet friendly, well-managed and they had a very good breakfast. They were very busy on July 4 weekend and there was a bit of a line for the hot breakfast. But, the breakfast attendant, Bobby, did a great job and he kept his upbeat, positive attitude despite the pressure of a big crowd and the COVID requirement that he prepare every plate himself and then hand it to the guests.

I am not sure since we drove. I would give them a call to verify this but I do not recall seeing a shuttle bus.
Yes, this is on the US side and about 10 minutes drive to the falls.
