Detailed Reviews
The location is what drew me to this hotel, near to SUNY UAlbany. It was a bit overpriced for the room and common areas on offer. However, the breakfast was reasonably priced and gluten free bread was available. I saw some notices that some renovations are underway..
Its in a safe area.

I was looking for a place to stay a night between my shifts at work. The place is rundown. There was toilet paper in the bathtub. There is people fighting and yelling all-night and random people will come and knock on your door. It sounded like people were taking apart the vents next door. Went to drop off my key card and the guy at the front was asleep. Go anywhere else or just sleep in your car you'll get better sleep and it will be way safer. The other reviews here are accurate, I wish I had seen them sooner.

Most disgusting place I have ever stayed.. and for the money, they should be ashamed!! Saw the reviews, but had no choice but to stay since everything else near West Point was sold out for the Army vs Rice game. From the minute we walked into the lobby, it was gross. Horrible smell of incense, dirty furniture and lobby area (someone doctored up website pictures for sure). Staff less than friendly. Room... Oh God.. where do I begin?!?!. Opened up the door and smell almost knocked us out. Ceiling was literally crumbling and falling down. Furniture was torn, stained, and just plain filthy. Bed was horrific (King) with one side literally almost on the floor.. and comforter looked like something you'd see in a "pay by the hour" room - totally gross and immediately threw if off bed to the disgusting stained floor (using towels to remove so we didn't have to touch it). Toilet did not flush, lights did not work... and stink bugs all over the place. The free breakfast was a lovely touch if you didn't mind sitting in a disgusting dining area with water dripping on your head from the rain.... They should have paid US to stay there!!! Do yourself a favor and spend about $50 less and stay at a Motel 8 - you'll feel like your at the Taj Mahal!

The entire experience was absolutely horrific! For example, advertised amenities (wifi and swimming pool) were not available. 'Non-smoking room stank terribly of cigarette smoke and bathroom door would not close; air conditioning did not work. When we expressed our concerns about the stink and bathroom door to the rude and dismissive front desk clerk (who, when we arrived was having a very loud argument with someone on the telephone about a past due account, did not even acknowledge our presence for about five minutes), she moved us to a room with double beds and no fridge, despite having booked a queen with a fridge. Absolutely no compensation was offered for our downgraded room. Fire alarm kept all guests out of their rooms until mid-night, so early risers were at a clear disadvantage. Absolutely no compensation offered for the loss of our room for about three hours during the fire drill. The 'free' breakfast was straight out of 'Hunger Games'... when food did arrive only the largest and strongest had food on their plates. Orange juice and coffee were so watered down we could barely drink it. Just the tip of the iceberg. Terrible experience. Would rather sleep in the car than stay there again.

This place is run down and disgusting. Carpets are dirty and so are the walls and tub. The ceiling in the room had obvious patch work down on it... The beds were uncomfortable. The staff was not friendly and not helpful. We only stayed one night to be near to the airport for an early morning flight, but I would never stay again and I would not recommend to anyone! There were four of us sharing a room with 2 double beds. They only gave us 1 pillow each and the room only had 3 towels. Our room was in front of the pool and the pool water was green! Oh! and we actually saw a bug (not sure what kind) running across our room. Gross! Stay away!

Let me thank you for taking the time to address this matter to our hotel as every comment, good or bad is important. As hospitality professionals we try our best to resolve concerns and offer the best service possible. Having said, that I would like to extend a sincerely apology for your stay and the events described in your review. All of our rooms are thoroughly cleaned and deodorized between guests but in this case it would appear that we may not have achieved success.

Was in town for one night with family. The rooms are disgusting! Even non smoking rooms were smoked in. Just a very sketchy place, very outdated. A place for hookers, pretty sure some were roaming the lobby. We refused to stay there and asked for a refund when the front desk was very uncooperative and lied about refunding the charge. It should be priced at $50 per night NOT $100. I wouldn't be surprised if you can pay by the hour. You could not pay me to stay there. Do not stay here. Sincerely every reviewer.

Dear Alex, First, I apologize for not meeting your expectations with respect to your recent stay. It disappoints me to hear comments like this, after the time, efforts and expense that we have invested in our people and property. I sincerely hope that you would give us another chance to serve you, and I can assure you that we are continuing to work harder to give our guests a great hospitality experience each and every time.In the other hand i would disagree with the comment of a place for hookers, our guests are valuable and Hudson Valley Hotel and Conference center is a hotel with family values.

we were looking for an overnight stay hotel half way on our trip AND dog friendly with low pet fees. So with low expectations, we reserved this place. By far the worse place we ever stayed. Nearby room doors banging until 3 am (steel looking doors at that). I didnt sleep ... even my dog didnt sleep. The place is literally falling apart. A very shady place. There was a note on the key envelope about not opening the door if you didn't expect someone ....

I hope that I will not have to stay there again. The only thing the maid did bring in towels and soap the size of a quarter. The room was never cleaned. The outside corridor or alleyways was dark, dirty and dangerous. The only thing left to do is knock it down and rebuild.

My boyfriend and I needed to find a hotel at 5pm that same day. We looked on hotels.com and found this place. Looked decent online, so we went for it. Great price! WHAT A MISTAKE!!! Driving up a road littered with potholes, past trash to a sad looking building, we already regretted our decision. But we were there and figured we had no other options this late in the game. We were given directions to our "very nice" room (as per the front desk), while seeing shady charters meander about the property. Driving around and walking up the staircase to the dark hallway and finally our muggy smelling room, made my stomach turn. The furniture looked like it was brought up from a garbage dump. Cracks and dings all over, not to mention totally outdated! It seemed somewhat clean, beds were made, but the carpeting made me cringe. In the bathroom I found a hair stuck to the wall next to what may have been a blood spatter.
I decided to take a walk around the building and found old mattresses and other trash in plain view for guests to see. Concrete floors were cracked, windows dirty, an old car with a flat parked in the lot...I had seen enough. My boyfriend had, in the meantime, tried to get us out of there. With the help of hotels.com, whose rep claimed the front desk was incredibly rude when he called, we got out of the second night, but they wanted to charge us for the 1st night. We couldn't even imagine spending one night at this awful place, so went to the front desk and checked out, trying to get our money back. He was evasive and we plan on disputing any charge. This place should be shut down! It's plain disgusting! We ended up getting a room at a MUCH NICER place down the road, for not much more $. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!

The overall feel of this sprawling, largely empty complex is somewhere between abandoned and crack house. We had a suite and I put my daughter in the bedroom so I could sleep in the rollaway bed pushed up against the door as the first line of defense against the unsavory characters that skulked about the grounds without any apparent purpose other than being up to no good.
Stay away! Or bring a gun and a Rottweiler.
