Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The name Microtel hints at small and the room was. House keeping did a great job keeping it clean. It worked better than our sink though. Staff handled and fixed the clog quickly which was small in the scheme of things. I called a week before arriving because the Orange Technology Medical Center recomended the hotel. It was convenient and Nicole at the front desk did all she could to calm a Hysterical family member. Very professional and she knew her job. Thank you Nicole. One family member was driving more than 12 hours another 3 hours. Sometimes to avoid sleeping in the car, motels need to Be flexible and Microtel was. Having the free breakfast right on site, kept stress lower than it could be. Price was not what was quoted but a compromise was arranged. Thank you Frank. Plenty of parking and motel was overall a relaxing home away from home.

The beds were very comfortable. The hotel can use a bit of deep cleaning on their carpets and VAC system. My allergies were triggered all the time the A/C was on. The dinner across the street is a good option if you are hungry

We stayed at this hotel for one night following a family wedding. The rooms are small but comfortable and clean. The coffee maker in the room was suspect so we didn’t try it and grabbed coffee from the continental breakfast. The bed is what you expect - definitely not like home but worked well for one night. The bathroom was nice, although we chose to wait until we got home to shower so I can’t say how the water pressure was. The included continental breakfast was the usual tiny hotel fare - waffles, cereal, yogurt. We chose to go to the diner across from the hotel, which was fabulous and had a decent number of menu choices for those who want more options. I would return again for an overnight but not for an extended visit. I prefer rooms with refrigerator and microwave capabilities if it’s for more than one night.

I reserved a few rooms at this Hotel and another Hotel nearby based on my past stays. I never had any issue checking in so of course I did not expect to have an issue this stay especially with the Assistant Manager Kristine Scarola. Her customer service was absolutely disgusting! The delivery, body language, gestures, nasty comments, argument and etc. should have never been my first or any encounter with her. She was rude and nasty! She made My family and I very uncomfortable. As I expressed the way we were being treated she responded by saying “It’s not that serious”. How dare you tell a customer that when they are obviously upset about the customer service they are receiving from you?! Monica was the Front desk clerk who was actually checking us in but Kristine had so much to say as if she did not want our business at the “Private owned Hotel”, where she was hired to be an example and also deliver outstanding customer service. My sister and I both work at different Hotels so we strongly believe we were Stereotyped especially because I am a Local and we all happen to be African Americans. We will NEVER stay at this location nor recommend this location to anyone ever again thanks to the horrible experience with the assistant manager who could not keep her mouth shut and allow Monica to check us in peacefully. I do recommend the Owner(s) and General Manager making sure they hire people who are great for business not just bodies to fill shifts and submit paperwork if they care about customers coming back.

FYI - I noticed a review stating they’re not following COVID-19 guidelines and I definitely agree. Monica nor Kristine had a mask on during check in, no hand sanitizer in site, so social distancing signs in site neither. I’m assuming they do not have to adhere to the CDC nor Wyndham guidelines since they are a private owned hotel.

We booked under a wedding party and arrived at the hotel at 3pm for check in. It wasn’t a good sign that there was between 20-30 people standing in the lobby that were also there for the wedding. The shuttle bus to the ceremony was between 4:15 and 4:30, so I figured I’d have time for a shower, shave and get dressed. The clerk said that they had no rooms ready and recommended that we call other guests that might have rooms and ask to use their room.
People began to get ready in the lobby, there are two bathrooms that are one person only. Several woman were in the parking lot using their cars to put on makeup. One guy got dressed in the back of his truck. At 3:45, my wife and I used a local restaurant’s bathroom (not in the hotel) to get dressed. That was a new experience.
At 4:30, they still didn’t have any rooms available and we rushed to the buses. Conveniently the bus drivers heard about the debacle and did a few later runs and the ceremony started a tad later.
There were no apologies, no offers to comp/discount anything. They honestly couldn’t care less. The room was fine for what it was, could have used a deeper cleaning but it was ok.

For the price paid I was expecting an actual hotel not a run-down motel. Bathroom was on par with a highway rest stop - see picture - and had dark, black mold in the corners. We spoke with the front desk and asked for a new room and they told us outright that they doubted there was really any mold, asked for a picture and when shown the picture they told us there weren't any other rooms available anyway.

The floors had not been vacuumed and there was garbage from prior guests on the floor. Walls were hollow and the lighting in the room can only be described as some sort of outdoor flood light. Carpet on the floors was stained and worn out. Every other hotel in the area was booked so we stayed and put fresh sheets over the bed. Comically the the bill comes with an extra $100 of taxes and "fees" to cover cleaning etc.

I travel every other week for work and this was the worst hotel I have ever stayed at.

Rug smells furniture is old and dirty walls are thin very noisy, was up all night due to people next door. Will never stay there again. Way too expensive for what you get. They need to get rid of the rugs and put vinyl down especially that it's pet friendly.

Staff very friendly. Room disgusting. No shower curtain, toothpaste spit all over inside of the tub. Work boot footprints inside the tub along with grease fingerprints on the wall enclosure. Wee arrived at 8:30pm, put the bags in the room and walked across the lot to Fridays for Dinner after driving all day. Got back to the room around 11:00 and noticed the issues. Called down stairs and got a apology and said to cone down to the desk in the morning and we would be reimbursed. We checked out around 8:30 and spoke with the person af the desk whom said we would be contacted. A week later we received 10% off the room not including the tax & surcharges total. Called to speak with the manager who said the Owner does not allow to credit for another stay or a refund. To do anything but get 50% off is absolute slap in the face. I will make sure nobody stays here for our monthly Middletown meetings and also put this review on any booking sites possible.

How can a hotel in 2023 not have USB ports for travelers’ phones in the rooms? How can the showers spray so hard that it hurts and there’s no setting adjustment? How can the nozzle and pipe for the shower be disgusting with lime and grease stains? How can the very ineffective shower curtain be fraying on the bottom edge? How can a person have ANYTHING on the counter in the bathroom that doesn’t get wet when you shower? And lastly, how can the manager of the hotel say “yeah, we know. Everybody complains about the same thing”??? Is that an answer? She says corporate knows but nothing happens. WHY NOT? She knows the issues, Wyndham knows the issues, yet feel it’s okay to offer SUB-PAR service and use an upscale title? I’ve traveled on tour with Broadway shows. This is unacceptable. Shame on the WYNDHAM corporation for offering mediocre product under such a prestigious brand name. Actually, they have no shame, it seems. Too bad. Visiting my mother in the nearby hospital was NOT made better by staying at Microtel. I chose Hampton Inn the next night.

I needed a room near the hospital during my sister's surgery. I was able to get a room with two beds, a coffee maker, fridge and microwave. It is pet friendly, so I was able to keep my sister's dog with me rather than try to find and pay for a kennel. Food options were available and varied with the provided continental breakfast, Outback and Friday restaurants across the parking lot, and a diner across the street. Everything was clean, the staff members were friendly and helpful, and the hospital was four minutes away, only two right turns after leaving the Microtel parking lot.
