We had a great stay at the Aloft here in Long Island City. The area is very convenient to local coffeeshops, restaurants, book stores, transportation, etc. You can be in the city within 5 minutes once you are on the train. Staff here is extremely friendly and welcoming. I know it is part of their job being in the hospitality industry but they got us anything that we needed very quickly and made amazing recommendations. Rooms are clean, views were great from our room, and I cannot wait to come back. If you're on the fence, I would highly recommend staying here opposed to any of the hotels in Manhattan. Way more space, less chaotic, and central to everything you need.

Went to celebrate my mom's bday and we were greeted so enthusiasticly by Robert, the front desk. He even made sure our room was organized and decorated for the occasion with rose petals, cake and swan shaped towels. All other hotel staff were also really welcoming.

We stayed at your Long Island City location on the nights of May 11th & 12th.
Just wanted to send a word of thanks to your amazing staff, who really take customer service to a higher level. They are like a playful family, genuinely seem to like each other and carry a welcomed informal presence! The clean hotel is definitely a 'no frills' place; but we actually appreciated that a good night's sleep is all you really need when you are on the go sightseeing in the city most of the day.
A particular thanks goes out to Kiara Camacho, our first contact upon arriving at the front desk. Enthusiastic, energetic, helpful and knowledgeable. That first contact and greeting made us feel welcomed in NYC, especially after hearing various horror stories of indifferent or rude hotel employees within the city.
While I worried I'd be too far for the Manhattan list of tourist things to do, the hotel is 2 minute walk to the subway that takes you directly downtown in minutes! The hotel location turned out to be a safer, cleaner, and more quiet alternative to the downtown core without compromising accessibility.
Lots of shops and restaurants close by.
Look forward to staying there again in the future.

So, just over a month ago I had open heart surgery. I am doing great and moving about my Astoria Queens neighborhood, even going to concerts! But twice in July we had heat waves in NYC, my AC does not work, and since I had to cancel all my summer travel plans I thought, let’s just chill at a cool hotel for several days. Long Island City has grown into a small city over the decade and has many new hotels. I have stayed at some, but after finding aLoft it is the only hotel I will stay at as a solo or duo visit. It is centrally located two blocks from the subway and 59th street bridge into Manhattan, there is a supermarket and drugstore two blocks away, and many amazing restaurants and good quality fast food and coffee shops.
The hotel has a bar, an indoor/outdoor first floor lounge, and an 18th floor outdoor deck with a Manhattan view. You can bring food and drink there. Each time I stayed I got a “room with a view” and could watch the sun set over the city on the 12th and 15th floors.
The staff is amazing, all professional and friendly and helpful.
The rooms are great for single and traveling couples. They are small, no real closets and a couple drawers, but if you are needing only 1-3 nights it is perfect. The bed and pillows are super comfortable. The bed was perfect for my back and some post surgery chest pain. There is a TV and fridge. The walk in shower is fantastic!
Again, I have stayed at some other branded hotels in the area, aLoft is my favorite and I highly recommend it!!

one of my favorite hotels in new york! the location is amazing very close to everything, the rooms are very clean and what really impressed me was the energy of the people who work there! the employees hug and laugh with each other and all this makes you feel like you are at home, I highly recommend it for both the energy and the location. the neighborhood has everything and you are as far from the center as needed for more peace and quiet but at the same time so close.

I want to give a credit to the staff -- everyone from the front desk to the cleaning crew was extremely welcoming and supportive throughout my stay. Some of the nicest people I've encountered in a New York hotel.
But as far as the hotel itself, it's decidedly average. The location was great if you want to be in Long Island City and near all the subways, but the room just wasn't. It's clean, but the bed is extremely uncomfortable (basically has the support of a sofa bed), and my shower was leaky and dripping all night. There was also some other creaking and other noise, and the "Manhattan View" is a bit of a stretch (you could really only see Manhattan from the corner of the window).
Additionally, Aloft does that frustrating thing of seemingly putting all the guests next to each other even though there were obviously other rooms available. And so even though there's actually pretty decent soundproofing through the walls, I still heard a lot of chatter and door opening/closing when trying to get sleep.
It's not the worst place you can stay, especially for the very fair price. But I also feel like you can find better in the area.

The staff was super friendly at check in. They let us check in a little early.
Room was very clean. It had a unique set up which I liked. The bathroom vanity had enough room to lay out all my items that I use when I get ready.
Full size Dry Bar products in the shower.
Location is good. Short walk from Queensbury plaza.
I would stay here again if I was in the area. We were here for a concert at Citifield .

We had an unexpectedly delightful experience at Aloft LIC. Following a dinner gathering with friends a few buildings away, we spontaneously decided to head to WXYZ Bar for some drinks. It turned out to be a stroke of luck, as there was a fantastic live band performing. We enjoyed ourselves so much that my husband and I decided to extend our stay and spend the night. The staff at the front desk were very accommodating in fulfilling our last-minute room request. The room itself was both clean and spacious, providing us with ample comfort. We slept soundly on the generous king-size bed, thanks to the plush pillows and the cozy comforter, which added the perfect touch to conclude the cool, rainy evening. We are definitely looking forward to returning in the future.

We've been staying here for years; rooms are big and comfortable with great amenities like a separate shower room to basin and plenty of space for luggage; Aloft signature bed is the most comfortable out there; this hotel is just one stop into Manhattan and there are plenty of lines within 5 minutes walk; LIC has really grown over the years but there are plenty of food and beverage options nearby including the best coffee house around with Partners. Hotel staff are always friendly and hotel is always spotless. We will continue to stay here whenever visiting NYC.

I took my family to NYC for the first time and this hotel was incredible. It had everything you needed either at the hotel or right around it. Very close to Manhattan/ Times Square, train is a 4 min walk from hotel. As far as the hotel itself the service was amazing. Luis Lara was extremely helpful making sure we had everything we needed in our room, gave us a room with a nice view once he found out it was my daughter’s first time in the city. He even helped give us directions for our travels in the city. Because of him and the staff this hotel will be the only hotel I go to whenever I travel to the city. Thank you guys for the tremendous service. 10/10.

It's open as business as usual Not closed!!
I don't think they have 500+ SQ feet? but Ive stayed there several times .. It's a wonderful modern style.
I did not pay attention to any parking lot as I was dependent on Lyft during this trip. Being in New York or around the area, I doubt it, and as the other reviewer mentioned, yes there is street parking pretty much everywhere BUT they're always taken.
