this inn was so disappointing and so very expensive for that quality. It has not been updated since 1970 and is very unclean, carpet had stains like a murder scene had taken place and we told management who said they had many complaints about it but it was the pattern in the carpets, nope, they were HUGE coffee and wine stains and if they had so many complaints why not replace the carpets with something nice. This place is hooking in guests to be on a lake but the rooms are beyond belief bad. If anyone calls this special they need to travel mor no e for a reference on what a nice hotel can offer! My whole family was disappointed. Fooled us once...
The picturesque Adirondack Mountains of upstate NY are the backdrop for the Mirror Lake Inn & Spa (the Mirror) which is located in the Olympic Village of Lake Placid. It is ideally positioned in a cozy lakeside setting with striking views of the wilderness made up of the rugged Adirondack peaks and pristine Mirror lake. The lobby retains an old world feeling with dark mahogany paneling, rick with wood, oozes of rustic-styled furnishings, a cozy fireplace with a stuffed moose over its mantle and all that promotes a warm comfy surrounding. There are plenty of guest room categories at the Mirror, from luxurious Placid suites to family enclaves. I opted for a spacious 430 sq. ft. lakeside suite; which, like the lobby, was furnished in classic Adirondack style with a sumptuous fireplace. The suite featured a porch with a sliding French door and floor-to-ceiling glass for unsurpassed views of the wilderness. The bath was roomy with an oversized whirlpool tub and luxe accoutrements. The mirror boasts 3 eating venues. The View Restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner based on a casual dining format with on the farm-to-table seasonal concept. The Cottage Cafe serves light fare of the pub-style variety in a cozy lakeside setting. With 6 million acres of Adirondack Park hanging out, the Mirror provides unparalleled opportunities to enjoy nature. Seasonal activities range from guided hikes, fly fishing and rock climbing in the summer to downhill skiing. skating, backwoods shoes-hoeing in the winter, and more. At the resort itself, guests can enjoy a fitness centre, indoor and outdoor pools, skating rink and a private beach with complementary canoes and rowboats. Another popular activity is exploring the antique shops in the village of Lake Place or one can just breathe in the fresh air and savour the quietness of the environment. The jewel of the Mirror is the Spa. This is an award winning, full service spa and salon that pampers the body and refreshes the mind with its comprehensive menu of services including signature treatments. The Spa has literally everything you could imagine to transform your mood into one of complete relaxation with the likes of massages , facials, scrubs and other rejuvenating treatments. So if you are yearning for a spoiling in a Lake Placid award-winning resort with cozy accommodations, ultra attentive staff, luxurious spa and delicious dining options.... ....then try the ......Mirror Lake Inn Resort & Spa.....One of the Fairest of them all.…
Stayed in the main building on the 2nd floor, overlooking Mirror Lake and we were soooo lucky to have weekend of wonderfully beautiful weather to wake up to - the lake was truly a mirror! The inn has exceptional service, the overall facility is so very well maintained (thank you to the care given, team!) and the room was spacious, so clean and the bathroom was amazing with double vanities and a great clawfoot tub that I enjoyed a nice soak in.
I stayed at Mirror Lake Inn for a Vogue Knitting Destinations retreat with Joji Locatelli and Veera Valimake. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The inn is an older resort that has been well taken care of in my opinion. The surrounding are beautiful, and the inn grounds are beautifully landscaped and well cared for. The lobby area is very nice. There is a really nice pool area and a private beach. It is only a short walk to the "main street" area of Lake Placid so if you want to try one of the shops or restaurants there you don't even have to move your vehicle. In fact, one could EASILY stay here and have plenty to do without moving your vehicle at all! I had a room on the second floor in the main building. I had a great view of the lake (and the pool area!). The room had a sun porch, not just a balcony, a true sun porch!!!!! I was able to sleep with the sliding doors open at night and get a refreshing breeze. I really enjoyed that!! (The porch had sliding screen doors as well as glass so you don't get any bugs.) The room is fully air conditioned, but it was cool and pleasant at night and I enjoyed the opportunity to get fresh air. Also, there are black out curtains that you can close to keep out all the light from this area, but I found the light that came in to be only a small amount and also there was a full moon one night I was there and I was able to see it over the lake from my bed! But if you need total darkness. there are curtains!! There was plenty of storage space with two dressers and a night stand. The closet was also a little larger than other places I have stayed and had PLENTY of hangers. It contained a small safe. The bathroom was older but very nice. Nice tub and shower. The staff is SUPER friendly and helpful. They offered help with my bags. I didn't need any but it was a nice touch! They also have coffee, tea and cookies out for you all day and evening. They will give you a refillable water bottle at the front desk if you ask and they have filtered water for you in the lobby. I did not eat in the restaurant per se because our meals were provided by the retreat but they were prepared by the staff of The View restaurant and served buffet style either in that area or our retreat location. The food was OUTSTANDING. I found Mirror Lake Inn to be a beautiful and inviting location.…
We love Mirror Lake Inn so much. This was our second stay here and will absolutely return in the future. As a part of a family business myself, it was very appreciated to see Andrew Weibrecht himself assisting with breakfast in The View. We again found everyone on staff to be super friendly and accommodating. Dinners at both The View and The Cottage were wonderful. I only wish I could order their granola to have shipped home. Thank you again for a great stay!
The Mirror Lake Inn is a beautiful place to stay in the Adirondacks. The grounds are incredible, the room was gorgeous and the staff was friendly and helpful! The cleanliness was top notch! I can’t wait to come back!
A Fantastic stay made even better by the hospitality team at the Mirror Lake Inn. We met a gentleman by happenstance named Jamey while exiting the elevator and struck up a great conversation. After helping us with a great red wine choice, I continued to run into him over the course of the afternoon and evening. He was the epitome of friendliness and hospitality every time and a big part of the reason we will return. The spa was wonderful. The food amazing. I mean, how do you make pancakes crunchy like that? Magic. Also I slept like a baby. The beds were perfect for me. I think it’s safe to say that the visit was 5 stars.
My Girlfirend and I stayed at the Inn for just a perfect two day stay. The Inn was inviting from the moment we walked inside and you can really tell that it is a family run business. Between the hospitality and the views of the lake and Adirondacks we really couldn’t have asked for a better stay. We will be back.
My company just had a meeting here and we couldn’t be happier with the whole experience. The place is so beautiful and very clean. Fires are always going in the numerous fireplaces, which really adds to the whole feel of the place. The sleeping rooms are very spacious, clean, and very comfortable. Our meeting space in the Wikoff room was so nice. Very large room where we had a private dinner with a bar and breakfast and a meeting there the next day. The staff couldn’t be nicer to work with and the meeting planner, Stephanie, went above and beyond to assure that everything went perfectly. Can’t say enough about this place. Really looking forward to coming back, hopefully for vacation next time.
I surprised my husband with a trip to Lake Placed for his 60th birthday. This Inn made it a truly exceptional trip. The staff is very professional and pleasant and had made notes about my husbands birthday and activities we were interested in experiencing while in Lake Placid. They provided us with lots of information about the surrounding area and available activities. The Inn itself was beautiful. While it is an older establishment, it is well maintained and has a lot of beautiful features. The first floor area has lots of little nooks to sit and enjoy a book and a drink, as well as a cozy fireplace. There is a never ending supply of fresh chocolate chip cookies to enjoy as well as morning coffee and tea. Our room had 2 queen beds and a sitting area looking over the lake; just gorgeous. The staff clearly goes out of their way to ensure that the room is sanitized between bookings, The last night we had dinner at The View which was also exceptional. Again the staff noted my husband's birthday and even provided a complimentary birthday dessert and a framed photograph of us. Little touches that meant so much. We would definitely return to Mirror Lake Inn and certainly would highly recommend it…
