It’s a good thing this place was cheap. We got a king no smoking room and the wall were literally yellow like it had been smoked in for years. First night there we found a centipede in the bathroom and other dead bugs. The bathroom was gross, there was hair in the tub, none of the floors were swept and there were stains on the shower curtains and walls. You could tell they were doing renovations because our room smelled like paint. Not to mention the people staring out their window as we came inside and later that night shined their car lights in our window. Would not recommend staying here, my friend said the hotels in India were better.

Still the lodge was adequate and we would stay there again if need be. Maybe renovations will bring it up to a better level. Just remember you are getting a good rate. Breakfast could use an upgrade too.

When reserving the rooms, I had asked for rooms on first floor or with an elevator and together. When we arrived we were given rooms on second floor that you could only get to by stairs. One of the people had knee surgery and couldn't climb stairs. I explained the problem and we were switched to two other rooms, this time in different buildings which diffinately wasn't together. She said that was all they had. The room I was placed in smelled musty but we decided to not complain, that is until after the water came out the bathroom during a shower and wet the floor. That was mopped up but when my room mate sat down on the bed the floor between the beds was wet. That wasn't from the bathroom unless the pipes were leaking somewhere. I again explained the problem and they now moved us to another room. Much better smelling but not in the same building.
The elderly person staying in the other building by herself had a nice room but the maids didn't clean the room, make the beds or change the towels. She had to call and complain about that.

I worked in the hotel industry for about 15 years and have stayed in numerous places. This was by far, the worst.
To start with, in booking the room online, the rate went up three times, from what was supposed to be available. When complaining about this, one staff member admitted the system was dishonest.
Upon checking in, I realized there was no telephone in the room. I was told they would try to change my room, but apparently all the available rooms did not have working phones.
The room was filthy. The patio door was so dirty, I could not see the overgrown unkempt lawn outside. I cleaned the patio door glass myself, as well as much of the room, since it was so dirty. The furniture was in dis-repair, There were no baseboards on the walls, which emphasized the very shoddy workmanship of the place overall. Half the light bulbs were blown. There were electrical fire hazards. (I am a licensed electrician.) There were brown spots on the wall behind the toilet. The toilet leaked out the bottom. I found a mystery pill on the floor. There were various other defects (missing towel rack, unstable mini-fridge, VERY noisy A/C and more.
The exterior of the building is littered with thousands of cigarette butts. The ice machine is about the size of a small microwave oven, located in the office, and empty.
Staff offered no compensation, and the live-in manager was completely apathetic.
See pictures, don't go there in person.

Booked a room here this weekend on a last minute decision. Made the mistake of booking the best deal pricing-wise. I stay in many hotels & motels throughout the year and this was by far the worst one I have seen. The room was so bad I had to leave and got to another hotel. Details below. Being late night the office was closed by the time I could check the room and take the below pictures.

1) Walking into the room, it had the moldy/musty smell of an unfinished basement. Made my way to the bathroom to a large spider on the ceiling.

2) Coming back out was a nice hole in the wall and wallpaper coming off the wall. Along with no base trim near the door and then all around the room

3) multiple holes at the bases of the walls, two of them had large spiders that scurried back in.

4) Mold like spots on the ceiling and base of walls

5) Checking for bed bugs I saw none, but then found spider webs under the night stand and some sort of plastic container at the headboard

6) Lifting the mattress up exposed a giant cockroach type bug which I removed with a tissue and photographed. Then once I saw another small bug crawling along the bed I decided it's time to head out.

The whole thing felt like and old unfinished room or basement. As previously stated the office was closed so I contacted them the following morning. When asking about a refund, I was told they have a 45 minute refund policy window that was passed. But once I described the situation they said they would make an adjustment and go take a close look at the room. So the only good part of the motel is the service.

I've been staying with econolodge off and on for couple months now! I've had the pleasure of dealing with management and house keeping. Both are excellent, they work with you and are attentive to your needs. My grandchildren like it here as well as my husband and myself! Couldn't ask for better hosts!

The bad reviews don’t lie, although they may understate how poor this place is.
From the space between the door and frame, the sticky floor, the hole in the bathroom wall, smelly water, strange smell of the entire room, horrible bed, and broken furniture do not stay here.
Stay on the road. If heading west-make it to Olean. If heading east-try Corning.

No price or discount will be worth it.

We were there in the fall and the view was spectacular. The rooms were very clean, but we were originally given a smoking room that reaked of cigarettes. Once I was moved to non-smoking it was perfect. Very quiet, nice location. Nice staff.

This is an excellent place to stay. We have stayed here several times in the past 2 years. It is much better than most Econo Lodges. The rooms are spacious and clean in both the new and old sections. The rooms have large TV's. We have had a refridgerator and microwave everytime. The rates are very reasonable. A much better value than the Comfort Inn downtown. the resturant on premisies (Rupert's) is excellent.
