Motel Savane is a nice local hotel, built in a typical and traditional style. Rooms are clean, but rather basic in decoration, bathrooms are quite run down. In general, some refurbishment and modernisation works would considerably improve overall impression. Nevertheless, it is a good place to stay in Ségou, the garden is nice, as is the restaurant. Food is simple but decent, wifi connection is rather bad.
This was a lovely little gem of a hotel that we stayed in during the Sur le Niger Festival in Segou, the rooms were small, clean, secure private bungalows with good AC/Hot Water and all the basics. The food was also quite good and there's a nice little lounge and garden. It's a pleasant, hidden gem in a town where you can't always assume that all the amenities are available...
Very nice and charming Hotel, close to the Niger River. The Hotel is nice and clean, and the staff is very kind and helpfull. The bungalow are very comfortable, and the whole hotel area is charming. The food is nice too.
The Hotel is out of the center but it's worth walking once through the colonialy district to get there. We didn't use taxies (we had a Minivan) but the cost of the ride by taxi shouldn't be more of a couple of USD. The staff was really knowledge and helpfull. Bungalows decor and equipment are really basic but acceptable. Some have air conditioning, other (cheaper) have only ceiling fan. We picked one with AC and that made our stay really comfortable! The Garden was really nice and cool. Breakfast wasn't great.
Bungalows are air-conditioned and clean and the one I stayed in was very spacious. Beds come with a mosquito net. Staff are friendly. The breakfast is nicely done. It is within walking distance of the river although not in the center of town. The wifi connection did not work well.
