Mana Pools Safari Lodge is one of the best wildlife resorts in Mana Pools National Park. This lodge offers prime interaction with wild animals. Majestic elephants, secretive kudu, buffalo, painted dogs, as well as lions, all pass by this river lodge. The thatched chalets enjoy commanding views of the sweeping flood plains and the mighty Zambezi River. This resort offers real safari comfort. The tastefully built lodge also has many wild and ancient trees. For instance, the giant African Mango takes centre stage in the main dining and lounge area. Many choose Mana Pools for photo safaris because the beauty of Mana is unmatched anywhere on the African continent Other Mana Pools activities available include game drives and game walks.

We arrived at the lodge by boat transfer - a two-hour ride along the banks of the Zambezi River, and a game cruise in itself! After having spent time observing a colony of bee-eaters along the way, we glided up to the lodge to a herd of elephants in front of the chalets. Such a wonderful welcoming party!

Hideaways Mana Pools Safari Lodge is located right on the banks of the river and has animals coming down daily to drink. We sat on our chalet decks and watched a range of species pass by, a couch safari in real time!

Even though we had incredible game in camp, we loved our morning and evening drives into the park with our guide, Shepherd. Mana Pools has beautiful and diverse landscapes, and we enjoyed exploring the different pans and albida forests. It seems that elephants also love the forest, eating all the pods which have fallen from the trees, like biscuits!

Our time at the lodge was very peaceful and we felt at one with nature. The rooms, main area as well as campfire area are very spacious as well as built to blend in to the surroundings. We can't wait to go again! Food for the soul.

Mana Pools Safari Lodge is an exceptional accommodation in the Mana Pools National Park.
The location on the sandy wooded banks of the Zambezi is marvelous. The common area and restaurant are decorated with a lot of taste and succeeds in giving both a homy and safari bush feeling. The rooms are simply fantastic, very luxury and at the same time authentic, with decoration chosen with a lot of taste, and the breeze going through despite the heat of the day. Finally the chefs are offering very delicate and refreshing food, adapted to all diets.
Discussing with the camp Manager, we realized that a new team was in place since the beginning of 2023 from top to bottom, with a lot of experience, energy, enthusiasm and professionalism, which explains why some comments in the past do not longer apply.
We would absolutely recommend to stay there for any one wishing to visit Mana, enjoy the beauty of nature and rest in a little luxury nest in the bush.

We had a wonderful stay at this lodge as Janice and her team made us all feel very much at home and made sure we had everything to make us comfortable.

We had amazing game viewing with Dean and Beanie. We were very fortunate to see the wild dog pack 3 times as well as the lions which Dean especially came to fetch us to go and see. Our game walks were also enjoyed by all and we definitely needed the exercise after all the yummy meals we consumed thanks to their wonderful chef :)

I was lucky enough to celebrate my birthday there and they made me feel extra special by making me a "special" cake which was enjoyed with sundowners on their breath taking "beach front".

We can highly recommend this lodge if you want luxury and homeliness all in one.

If you go to Africa, go to Zimbabwe. And if you go to Zimbabwe, go to Mana Pools National Park and stay at Mana Pools Safari Lodge. It is very well managed, extremely welcoming and the rooms/ lodges are very comfortable. The staff and managers made us feel the most welcome I have ever felt. And our guide Dean had encyclopaedic knowledge of the wildlife and birds. The whole service from beginning to end was excellent and a special mention goes to the barman (Panashe) if you’re into cocktails. And to Last and the wonderful waiters.

The lodge was luxurious, beautiful, simple and a dream. The staff were so friendly and helpful that we were able to laugh and joke with them all weekend, making for a more vibrant experience. I love wildlife photography, and the game drives were so in depth and perfect for me. We saw much game, even right next to the lodge that it was an unforgettable experience.
I would definitely come to stay again and recommend Mana Pools Safari lodge to anyone that wants a magical weekend in the bush!

Having visited Mana Pools before, I had a good sense of what to expect, but I'd never arrived by boat, or had such wonderful wildlife encounters. Taking a boat transfer from Chirundu is a must. The wildlife viewing begins as you leave the shore, and after an hour of great elephants sightings, hippos galore and wonderful birdlife, you already feel immersed in the wild. Then Mana Pools Safari Lodge takes the experience even further. On our three nights there, we encountered elephants grazing just outside our chalet (looking over the river) every night, so close we could touch them (of course we didn't) . They were followed hippos, water buck, zebras and more. One night, returning after a wonderful game drive (sighting leopard and all manner of creatures), we followed a pride of lions hunting in the camp itself, until they chased their quarry into dense bush nearby. We could hear them that night, as they called to the rest of the pride to join in their feast. Speaking of feasts, our food was wonderful, especially when we dined fireside in the boma under the stars. The staff, like most Zimbabweans, were incredibly friendly, kind and full of fun. And the comfort was outstanding.

This was heaven on earth. The accommodation was first class. Food stunning. Safaris breathtaking. Guides so knowledgeable and accommodating.
When an unexpected wildlife experience happens they let you know and get you there so you don't miss a thing. We were blessed to see a rare sighting of the beautiful wild dogs and buffalo 🐃
The Safaris vans were so comfortable and perfect for photos etc.
Our hosts were just so warm and welcoming. Thank you Tony aka beanie. You are amazing.

If you have never been on an african safari you will not be disappointed in this gem Zimbabwe has to offer.

We were lucky enough to spend 3 nights at Mana Pools Safari Lodge. Everything about our stay was unique and special. Mana Pools certainly lived up to my dreams and more. This was due to the amazing staff and guide at the lodge. Everyone was so warm and friendly and they all went over and above to make you feel like family.
The animal encounters exceeded my expectations and we were lucky enough to do a number of walking safaris and see some very special sights.
The lodge was unique and amazing and you felt like you were staying in a luxury treehouse.
The food during our stay was amazing and enjoying breakfast by the river was just perfect.
A very special to all the staff and we hope to return again.

My family and I visited mana pools over the Easter weekend. We had a lovely stay at the lodge, the staff were friendly and the food was well prepared by chef Werenksky. We also had the pleasure of some animals visit us during the day and night by our tents, it was an absolute delight ☺️. My only suggestion would be that we have game drive with a tour guide as an option instead of the self drive only.

Had an absolutely wonderful time at Mana. The staff were fantastic and a special thanks to Dean, Talmage and Panache for the wonderful game drives, walking and fishing. Janice also, thank you for your hospitality and professional, yet friendly management. You really do run a tight ship which makes for an honest, relaxing time. Honestly, I loved every second and every detail of the lodge, the rooms, the people and the conservation. Will definitely be back and am in the process of rounding up mates to come with. You are all doing a fabulous job, thank you. See you in April all being well.
