Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I stayed at the El Mouradi in Douz for one night as part of a group Grand Tour of Tunisia. Rooms are comfortable with all mod cons provided but you need to pay a deposit to obtain a key for the in-room safety deposit box. Room was clean and there was excellent free WiFi throughout the hotel. Friendly staff. The restaurant served average quality buffet meals but these were not great. No obvious issues.

the structure is quite old and would need some renovation
and also greater attention to cleanliness
the restaurant was mediocre for both dinner and breakfast
especially if compared to the Touzer structure of the same chain
but the worst part was the staff who treated us with obvious detachment and sufficiency until they allowed themselves to fool us on the subject of indoor pool.
Since the presence of this service was known on the hotel's website, we asked the receptionist who was very annoyed but indicated where the pool was.
Arrived in front of the entrance we found it closed with a deadbolt despite being fully functional.
We asked for clarification and we were not given any answer except that of an orderly who tried to call the attendants to activate the service but received no answer.
The receptionist didn't give a damn and let us know not to insist.
If you like indoor pools don't go.

Been there for the Phoenix round trip 1 night, the house is already a bit old, but completely sufficient for a round trip hotel. The rooms are old fashioned but clean, it all works and the food was quite good. With 10 people for dinner the whole buffet built up, that is already luxury or waste, a la card would really be a reasonable alternative here. The pool was very nice and the water seemed very clean. Value for money fits.

This was yet another sad El Mouradi hotel – the chain favoured by Voyages Jules Verne for the tour of Tunisia we were on. They really are nasty hotels. Judging by photos, the hotel prides itself on its swimming pool. Hmmm… The sunbeds were old and the cushions falling to pieces. There were no pool towels – you had to bring them from your room and then exchange them at reception for fresh towels for use in the bathroom. The so-called pool attendant did nothing at all. The buffet food was as drab and unappetising as in all their other hotels. The crowning glory is the sugary orange squash they serve at breakfast insead of fresh orange juice – in a country abundant in oranges. Oh yes, and the sugary breakfast cereals – and even moorway service stations sell bags of sugar-free muesli/granola. All in all, these Mouradi hotels clouded all the positive things about the tour and simply serve to make a return visit to Tunisia out of the question. Sad, but true. We will never go back.

I strongly advise against it, dirty room, very noisy air conditioning, dirty bathrooms, stained sheets, luckily I had sleeping bags with me, in the late evening we had to deal with a colony of ants running around on the bed, used to military camps I I adapted given the late hour. We wanted to use the restaurant, but at first glance looking at the buffet, we gave up, the smell and sight of the dishes were from scratch. Upon waking up, breakfast was a photocopy of dinner, juices in a jug at room temperature 33 degrees, for the rest no comment.
Great outdoor parking and beautiful date palms.
It's a four star only on paper I give a 100'ants 😂🤣 these were real.

We did the grand tour of Tunisia, and all the hotels we stayed in were from this same chain: El Mouradi. We stayed in Douz for only one night.
In general it is a shabby hotel, old, ugly and with furniture from the 50s, like the rest of the hotels we stayed in in Tunisia, all from the same chain. And like in all these hotels, both we and the rest of our traveling companions suffered from lack of cleanliness, lack of amenities, lack of towels, etc. A war with a pitiful service to be able to get these basic elements, and in many cases it causes loss, since no matter how much you demand the towels, amenities, etc. They never appeared.
Here the great anecdote for us (and many other couples who were staying in adjoining rooms) is that when we arrived at the room we found that it was not made up. After complaining, the only thing they can think of is to put sheets on the beds, without even cleaning the bathroom. After continuing to complain, they changed our room. But come on, cleanliness was also conspicuous by its absence, but at least it seems that they had devoted their usual little attention to cleanliness.
By the way, in this hotel the room was especially shabby since it didn't even have a balcony, but rather a window with bars that overlooked a kind of landfill.

This hotel is really bad, rundown not clean the Mattress is at least 20 years old (no joke) The furniture going under "for cottage or camp"
Food is not so bad, but in a dirty room with the charm of a railwaystation restaurant in eastern Germany in 1975 no food taste good.
But now the best, the booking confirmation say non alcoholic drinks inclusive, the receptions insist 2 times on NO not inclusive even after we show him the printout.
I mean its not a big deal, but only the way how the make a customer po for the price of 2 water and 2 coffee tells you a lot.
It is your job to bring the luggage out of your car and up to the room, that's ok, what i don't like is that 3 times someone stay in your way (you have your luggage in your hand) and try to sell you overpriced tours. This guys stay in the lobby day and night and approach every guest numerous times.

The rooms and the entire complex are clean, but are very old and in need of renovation. There is no internet connection in the room, this is only available in the reception hall. The buffet was boring and not very appealing, instead of proper crockery/cutlery there is a lot of plastic. The staff, especially in the restaurant, are very unmotivated and rather unfriendly. We will definitely choose a different hotel on our next visit to Douz.

Ww did not like this hotel. The beds were very hard and difficult to sleep in the mattresses. The shower was either very cold or scolding hot. The buffet breakfast was not very good. The screen in the window had a very large hole, so we could not open the window because of the fear of mosquitos and insects flying into the room. The dinner we ate was just average.

The hotel is very correct, the people are very attentive, it has free parking, and they advise you very well about the activities.
The spa has been incredible, I recommend it 100%, they are very professional and it is ideal after a quad excursion. We have acquired the experience of the hamman and we are as good as new. I want to emphasize that the girl who gave me the massage has been very careful with an injury I have in my shoulder without me telling her, I found it incredible.
