My daughter and I came for the opening rounds of the US Open and chose this hotel because it’s in the area. It was clean, modern, and very quiet.

The shower and toilet are separate with semi see through frosted glass walls. There is a curtain to separate the bathroom area from the sleeping area. The room has a small fridge and small coffee pot with little Starbucks coffee packets provided.

When we arrived we went in the wrong door and ended up in the attached shopping center. We called and got directions to the right spot. The lobby is on the 12th floor. It took us a few tries to figure out the elevators between the room floor and ground floor; sometimes we had to go up to the 12th floor then take a different elevator to our room floor.

There’s a coffee shop on the ground level open until 7pm daily and places to eat in the attached shopping center.

We didn’t have much interaction with staff until we were leaving. The young woman, Jeannette, who opened the door and called a taxi for us was the nicest and friendliest person, and visiting her while we waited for the taxi was the best way to end our stay.

The Renaissance New York Flushing at Tangram is has been my home away from home when in NYC. I tried this hotel with my free night voucher as it had just opened a few months before and I needed a place to stay. All I can say is I’ve been mostly staying at this hotel ever since. Ron the salesperson was able to work a special rate with me and that’s why I’ve been a regular. The front desk & concierge staff have been amazing since day one and it’s always nice to see them when I arrive. I always feel welcome when I see Addisalem, Aleah, Florance, Jessica, & Victoria, and get to catch up with them. They have had some new agents and they also have been very kind I just don’t know them as much yet. They lounge serves food in the evening Monday to Thursday and Ada who works in the lounge always remembers me and makes sure I’m set for the next morning with honey for my tea. It’s the little things like this that makes me want to keep coming back. When I leave very early in the morning there is the night auditors Johnathan and Elvis who it’s always a pleasure to see. If you need the shuttle to/from the airport they have 2 great van drivers Alberto and Wajeeh. The only thing is with the distance it’s only once an hour for pickup and/or drop off. Now is this this hotel perfect, No but I live about 75% of my life in hotels and have yet to find a perfect one with my keen eye and hospitality background. Even staying at a St. Regis I’ll find problems. What this hotel has that I find amazing and why I keep coming back here is the ability to solve the problem and exceed my expectations. They know customer service! Things happen and it’s all about how the hotel tries to fix it. That seems to be a skill a lot of hotels have lost over the years but not this one. I highly recommend this hotel as it’s also in the heart of Flushing. You have LOTS of food choices around and in the mall including the restaurant inside the hotel. So much better than staying at an airport hotel that you have nothing around to do or eat. It’s also walking distance to the MTA 7 station and the LIRR station so you can get to Manhattan if you want from this location. If you enjoy watching planes take off and land the king rooms are facing LaGuardia airport.

It was my first time of staying at the hotel with family. Its location is truly unbeatable within walking distance to shopping malls and so many dining options besides the restaurant on site, hotel shuttle is available to/from the airport.
From the moment I stepped into the hotel, I was greeted by the staff with a smile. The check-in process was swift and seamless, the attentive staff made sure every detail was taken care of. Florence and Brigitte are the only two names I remember. In fact, every staff member I encountered went above and beyond to ensure my stay was nothing short of perfect. The level of hospitality exceeded my expectations.
My stay at this hotel was nothing short of exceptional. Its prime location, unmatched convenience, and outstanding service make it the perfect choice for travelers looking to experience the best, whether you're visiting for business or leisure, I recommend Renaissance New York-Flushing.

Location and accommodation… check.

For Marriott we usually have a club floor of treats and eats and I’m not sure if this new hotel offers this. But beginning with what I DO know . The room (double twin) was perfect with a separated commode and medium sized shower. There was a really cool modern layout complete with a place to house and open my luggage. We didn’t spend a lot of time in the room as we visited family and ate at nearby restaurants.

The TV was app ready (not sure what the official name is- lol) and I watched Netflix!!! We loved the mall right next door. I have been to a few places in Asia and the format reminded me of this where the mall provided a lot! There was also a swim school/theater in the mall that’s attached to the mall!

Sleep: fourth floor was Gr8. No noise though we do play a ocean sound while we sleep.

Hopefully the pool will be available (inspectors HURRY)!! And maybe visit the rooftop when it’s not 1000 degrees outside. :).

A nice new hotel. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Consistently asking if we need help or directions etc. I liked the rooms, very clean, new, well stocked.
It is a new hotel so one thing to be aware of, pool is not open yet. That was a bit of a disappointment and wasn’t clear to us before we got there. Beautiful new gym. We typically like to book a location with club access or an M room for snacks and coffee. This has one but minimally stocked.
Great rooftop deck, comfortable atmosphere. Definitely has a feeling of still working out the kinks but I think once this hotel gets really up and running for a little while this hotel will be a great location.
One tip, do not count on “ Continental breakfast voucher“ for more than a serving of toast, or a bagel or oatmeal and coffee. Not the typical cold buffet that you see at some hotels-this is sit down and they will bring to your table one of those items…

Friendly and professional airport shuttle driver and valet team. New hotel in area of Flushing with many small Asian restaurants. Room was extremely small but the worst part of it was the sink and shower were INSIDE the room with only a curtain separating the bed from the “bathroom”. Frosted toilet door and shower door with no way to shield light at nighttime so be prepared to awaken everyone each time someone uses the bathroom at night. Whiskey bar had ONE whiskey drink on the menu…. The rooftop lounge while a nice space with a great view of the city and direct overhead planes taking off, was so dirty. Trash and empty used glassware everywhere. On two separate occasions. No cushions on the chairs/couches. The breakfast/steakhouse was horribly slow for breakfast. It took over an hour to get coffee and a bagel. Seriously. No acknowledgment from the 4 people working there that morning. Really a shame for such a new hotel to have no apparent manager on duty to stay on top of keeping common areas in tip top shape. Would rather stay at a Fairfield Inn and that’s not saying much!

The entrance to the hotel is not understandable when you first arrive.

You have to understand that the doors on the left is the entrance to the hotel with or without the presence of security employees who open the door for you and the doors on the left go to the shopping center.

If you see the Starbucks store, you have arrived at the Renaissance Hotel in Tangram.

You will have to take the elevator to find the hotel reception on the 12th floor. Be careful, there is no display to tell you to go upstairs.

The rooms are of correct size and very spacious, better than in Manhattan where there is no interest in staying: take the metro (300 meters away) or a taxi, you will be there in 30 minutes.

Then, once the check in is complete, you take an elevator from the 12th floor to reach your floor, you will have to take the elevators on the right! Unfortunately there are no clear indications, you take about 20 minutes to understand the system and that's a lot when you arrive at the hotel already tired from your trip especially if you have just arrived by plane from the 'Foreigner.

The staff is welcoming, the rooms are clean (for the moment, the hotel has been new since August 2022, we will see from 2023 if it is still as well maintained by the staff).

The street outside is dirty especially by the restaurants around and throwing food on the ground or the garbage cans are ripped open by animals looking for food.

The easiest way is to arrive by car at the hotel : taxi, car, etc.

A few hundred meters away, you will find authentic Cantonese restaurants (cuisine just like in Hong Kong), the city center is populated by continental Chinese, you will have the feeling of being in China and no longer in the USA.

You will also find the largest Chinese community in the world outside of Asia on the American continent (USA and Canada).

I recommend this hotel for its ease and novelty of amenities.

Went for a concert tried to check in at 4:30 pm after an 7 hour drive and our room as NOT ready. The clerk at front desk said 20 minute wait, ok no big deal. Well that turned into 2 hours so we were forced to get ready for our concert in a bathroom! We got an Apology and a free drink. I remained quiet to not embarrass my friend as our reservations were under her name. The location is only 15 min walk on foot from Citi Field. The area is very run down and dirty. I was sad that after the concert we couldn’t find any restaurants open not even in the hotel we were staying in! We found one Hot Pot place open our only choice. This hotel was not cheap very pricey and we only stayed in it from 1am - 9 am ! I would not recommend at all! The valet staff was great I loved them but that was it.

Sonjam953, we're sorry to hear that your experience didn't meet your expectations, particularly regarding your room's readiness upon your arrival and the limited availability of nearby dining options during late hours. We take all feedback to heart as we strive to improve. It's relieving to hear positive comments about our valet team members; they're committed to providing exceptional service. We hope for a chance to deliver a more satisfactory experience in the future.

Nice spot! The rooms were designed like an upscaled studio apartment in Manhattan, the staff were very welcoming, Especially Lisandra! She helped me find the exit when i got on the wrong elevator, and then later on she was such an engaging host up in the lounge! Always smiling and made sure we were taken care of, made us feel so welcomed.

Every time I stay at this hotel, I discover another amenity. The gym is spectacular (one of the best hotel gyms I’ve ever seen, and the club lounge is the best! The staff is always so friendly and welcoming. Stephen at the front desk is the man!

The rooms are always so clean, and it’s conveniently located to some of the best dumplings/Chinese food you can get anywhere in the city.
