While planning a brief outing to connect with family amidst this COVID state our family booked at this location. I must say it was well worth it! The staff Mike and Jason in Particular were outstanding!! The rooms were clean and the front desk provided hand sanitizing cloths that showed how they too were concerned for our safety. The limited staff that we encountered were pleasant as well... This made our brief time together worth while!! This was apparently our 2nd stay within a Year! Applauds to you! Thanks

The hotel was easily accessible from the Highway and there were multiple plazas nearby for food and errands. The gentleman checking me in was great. He was welcoming, personable and helpful. My room, a studio, was clean and comfortable. It was also quiet leading to a great night's sleep. Water pressure and hot water were fine. The breakfast was good with multiple options and the person working it was friendly. I’d definitely stay here again.

Have been a big fan of this hotel having spent lots of time here Pre-pandemic. This is my third trip since business travel returned for me and the first time I’ve been disappointed. Front desk person was unable to explain why my preferences couldn’t be accommodated as a platinum elite member. (Preference to be off first floor) so I switched with a colleague. My room’s air conditioner didn’t work but fortunately there was a room air conditioner. This should have been mentioned. Also the towels in my room seemed worn. This was a first for me and hoping the only as I stay here with some frequency.

Albany is a town of pretty run down hotels and restaurants, but business forces us to go there several times per year. We were hugely and pleasantly happy to find it about 5 years ago, and enjoyed staying in such a clean , upscale place and they had a food truck and nice bar and entertainment some evenings. Yesterday we looked forward to our planned stay, but John at the front desk was totally overwhelmed by an overweight lady whose credit card was out of money, and we had to wait for 15 minutes to start check in, then we found our room and it smelled so strongly of some kind of chemical that was to cover pet odor I think, and my wife’s nose reacted to pet dander I think, and the room was just awful from a shoddy cleaning. He had no rooms that were clean and so we left and went to another location. Of course we will never go back; what a disappointment. We count on Marriotts to be first class.

My current stay is just not going well…it’s one issue after the next. We checked in at about 5pm (not late) and were told the only room they had left was a handicapped room. I get that someone has to get that one if they are sold out, but this is one time where I feel my lifetime titanium status should have at least pulled me from the bottom of the room assignment list up to get a regular room. We get into the room and the mini lotion bottles on the sink were empty (????) and the tv was plugged in such a way that it wouldn’t rotate and the manager had to come up so we could move furniture to fix the wiring. Then on an off-housekeeping day we give a ring down to the front desk to ask if housekeeping could just bring some new towels and strip the bed because the sheets needed a change and she politely said it wouldn’t be an issue and would send someone right up….low and behold we arrive back that evening and find no one had showed up so we had to get everything from the front deck and strip the bed ourselves.
Facility-wise the place is fine but these service issues just add up to the point where we will just have to look elsewhere when in the area.

A complete dump. While they will claim they doing renovations so "please pardon our appearance" the mismanagement is well beyond renovations. They called 2 days before check-in to say there are renovations and things like pool, gym etc would be closed. Thanks for doing this at last minute after it too late to cancel. The room had an electrical issue with stove (very comforting), tv's, previous guests dishes still dirty in dishwasher, and cold items were hot at breakfast and hot items were cold. Also was nice as i found hair scrunchies and pills in the carpet in the room from previous guests.
Almost impossible to get an elevator as each time it had constriction works and equipment. Yet emergency exits were taped off saying do not use.
Staff told me they were getting complaints all day about the last minute renovation call, things not working in room, the breakfast and the dirt from construction. Construction is on second floor yet floors 1 and 3 dirty also.
Absolutely worst managed hotel I've been in and I travel weekly for work.

We stayed at this hotel last year and it was fine, but the rooms have gone downhill and they seem short staffed. Our 2 bedroom room on the first floor in the back smelled damp and moldy. We were only there for one night so did not ask to be moved. The breakfast was supposed to start at 7 am but was delayed and there were no lights on. Luckily the coffee was ready and that was really what we needed. I think this hotel needs a refresh as everything in the room seemed tired.

Tattletale time. DO NOT stay at the hotel. Lifetime titanium member and this place by far was the worse stay ever, pretty much a prison stay for 6 nights. I swear section 8 folks were living here. Huge dogs off leash Husky, mix pitbull, cigarette smokers dumping stuff all over. Had to pay 75.00 for pet fee, the hall carpets and room were one huge wee wee pad. Stains everywhere. Noisy people slamming doors partying on a Sunday night till 1-2 in the am front desk did zero. We put sheets on the floor in our room because the rug was so dirty.”Make the extra track mileage wise and stay on wolf road in Albany or anywhere even a cardboard box but at all cost, avoid this dump and yes I did say dump!!!

This is another review about how disappointed I was during my stay at a hotel that at one time was my Cheers, staff knew mine and my colleagues names and greeted us each time we came. Since returning to travel after the pandemic things have drastically changed. The staff at the front desk are void of personality responding to questions in monotone. Last night when I got to my room neither of the TVs weee working so I tried to call the front desk. Phones were down as well. I went down to talk to someone and was told that the TVs and phones were down all day and being worked on. This is something that should have been communicated at the time if check in. Sorry to say that I will likely be staying at other properties when I come to town for work. There are other Marriott options and I try to stay true to Marriott.

Unfortunately, there’s one employee that does not belong at this hotel, or any customer facing job for that matter. This hotel has some of the best front desk people, but this one is the worst. I can identify this employee only by her big size and insufferable attitude. She goes out of her way to ruin the clientele’s experience. May be that is how she is. From being rude right off the bat with anybody needing help to pushing back on them instead of offering any solutions this employee has earned her “WORST WORKER” award.
Management should make a change as quickly as possible to keep customers coming back to their hotel by removing this employee or assigning her work inside the hotel, so she does not have to interact with customers. This ruins everybody’s time. Please investigate this and do the right thing for your paying customers.
