The hotel is undergoing refurbishment in which the rooms are being remodeled as well as the hallways. The upper floors of 7 and 8 have been remodeled but the lower floors have not. The newer rooms have new furniture and a fresh look. The older rooms are clean and the beds are comfy but the rooms are dated and the carpet is old and peeling up in the hallways in certain areas.

The staff was very kind and knowledgeable about the area for restaurants and transportation!

The hotel has one of the best fitness rooms I’ve seen in most hotels. Plenty of cardio machines with cable machines, a smith machine, and free weights. It also has a very large indoor swimming pool that is staff attended.

The hotel has a restaurant on the lobby level. There are some local restaurants within walking distance to include
Mexican, Colombian, and Dominican Food options. There is a small grocery store about 10 minutes walk.

It’s the closest hotel to the US Open being less than a 10 minute walk. Be sure to book early. The rooms book quickly. Citi Field is also a 10 minute walk as well. So close you can see it from the hotel.

A pick up from the airport usually is around a 20 minute wait for the shuttle. The shuttle runs to the airport every half hour to the airport upon return. The ride there is 10 minutes but can be longer during heavy traffic times.

If you choose to drive there is a parking lot and $22 a night.

The best part about this location is the service. From housekeeping to the front desk. The restaurant staff were especially helpful with breakfast each morning. We will definitely return.

We were not in the renovated rooms but everything was still clean and well organized. The parking lot is small but it was nice to have a place to park. Most hotels in Manhattan don't even offer parking.

The hotel is a short walk to subway. Also extremely close to Citi Field so we may have to return during baseball season.

I stayed here when my flight was cancelled. The room was clean, the staff friendly. It met my needs for the night. My room didn’t have a hair dryer but I didn’t call down to say anything. I’m sure they would have resolved the issue. There is no airport shuttle anymore. The hotel is a little run down but they seem to be working on sprucing it up.

Dear JacquiM4, I appreciate you for sharing your review about your recent stay. Thank you for choosing our hotel for your visit in LaGuardia. I am very sorry that you did not experience an exemplary stay due to the maintenance of our hotel. This is certainly below our usual high standard of service. Please be assured that I have noted and forwarded your comments for the management to improve. In the midst of the inconvenience, I am glad to know that the cleanliness of our room and the service of our staff was still appreciated. I very much hope that you will grant us the opportunity to prove ourselves again. Best Regards, Ben W. Case Manager IHGService

Booked this hotel after flight was canceled. Had confirmation and upon arrival there was a long line of people at desk. Many were trying to check in while others were complaining about rooms not having been cleaned or that the room they were just given was occupied. Front desk personnel were trying to give out sheets and towels to those whose room had not been cleaned. I watched 5 other guests come back to say room was occupied and 3 of them came back multiple times. I finally got a room and found it occupied as well. Waited another 30 mins only for them to say they had no rooms. This was at almost midnight so we had to find a hotel 45 mins away and pay much more plus an additional Uber ride of $60. Also, there was a”security” person who was completely frustrated by having to help guests with room keys that werent working or occupied rooms. Place was a total nightmare. Do yourself a favor and NEVER STAY HERE!!! A complete sham of a hotel who were trying to work off a sheet of paper to see which rooms were clean or available. Staff was complaining about housekeeping not doing their job. Again, the absolute worst experience at a hotel in my life and I travel all the time for business as well as personal.

First of all, we couldn’t find the hotel because of the new name. We booked the Holiday Inn La Guardia but it was this address. Then even though the website said that there was a free airport shuttle (the main reason we booked), we were told it “wasn’t running currently” with no apology. The receptionist was extremely inhospitable (even though she works in the HOSPITALITY) industry and did nothing to help us or apologize for the renovations, lack of shuttle, lack of amenities etc. The decor was obviously a conglomeration of stuff from other hotels, and we could hear the person next door coughing/throwing up at 4am through the walls. Never again!

I stayed here 12/30/2019, Erica at the front desk was so nice and took the time to help plan my trip in New York. I don't know if she is the manager but she surely presents herself like one. The rooms were newly renovated. There is a supermarket, and restaurants near the nearby metro subway 7 line. I enjoy being there and will return sometime.

I received very poor treatment from the Ramada Plaza Hotel at La Guardia Airport when attempting to check-in to the hotel. The hotel failed to honor a fully pre-paid reservation, denied me to check-in to the hotel despite that I provided a written confirmation, and left me stranded for the night.I had a pre-paid reservation with the hotel through a well-known third-party booking service and was provided a Ramada confirmation number. At approximately 10:30 p.m. when checking-in, I was informed by the assistant manager on duty that my reservation for that evening could not be located in their system and that the hotel was completely sold out. I informed the assistant manager that I had a pre-paid reservation for the hotel, and showed him a copy of my printed confirmation with the Ramada confirmation number printed thereon. He instantaneously dismissed the confirmation and said that the hotel did not have anything in their system regarding my reservation and placed the blame on the third-party booking service for allegedly not making a reservation at the hotel. I do not find this convincing, however, as I confirmed the reservation through Ramada s 800-reservation line approximately one-week prior and they had no difficulty locating the reservation through the Ramada confirmation number I provided. Accordingly, Ramada did have the reservation in their system prior to my check-in.Due to the assistant manager s unwillingness to cooperate after producing sufficient evidence of my pre-paid confirmation, I immediately called the third-party booking service and informed them that the hotel alleged they could not locate my reservation and had refused to check me in. The booking service called the hotel directly and faxed additional documentation as evidence of my pre-paid reservation. The hotel still refused to accept the fact that I had a pre-paid reservation even after the third party booking service provided the hotel with the additional documentation. I find it very interesting how the Ramada confirmation number that did in fact exist previously now mysteriously disappeared when the hotel became sold out for the evening.Despite having a written pre-paid confirmation, the hotel did not offer me any assistance whatsoever to help me find alternative accommodations. I was not able to secure a hotel for the evening as the major hotel chains I contacted in the area were already sold out for that evening. I stayed in the hotel lobby awake the entire night because I had no where else to go. I had been traveling from California until my arrival in New York at 10 p.m. that evening. After remaining in the hotel lobby the entire night with no opportunity to shower, I took the hotel shuttle to La Guardia Airport at 6:30 a.m. to return to California. A miserable experience indeed.

Warning: Beware of thieves that work for Holiday Inn! My husband and I were asleep at 2:30PM in the afternoon after checking into the Holiday Inn LaGuardia at 3:30AM that morning. We suddenly heard someone quietly trying to break into our room! He had a homemade device that he had slipped under the door, guiding it to unlock both the latch and the door itself. My husband grabbed the device and told me to call the police and the front desk! The man started yelling “give it back, give it back!” When told the front desk had been called (for some strange reason I couldn’t get through the switchboard to call the police) the man took off. Seven minutes later two people appeared. The only reason we knew they worked for HI was that they were wearing uniforms with NO NAMETAGS. They told us first that the person breaking into our room with a homemade device was one of their maintenance men; then they told us that he was trying to check our room since the maid had not cleaned it. “You should have put the ‘Do not Disturb’ sign out” the Head of Housekeeping stated. Now it was our fault the man was breaking in! They never once questioned the maintenance man about where he was trying to break in, why he didn’t call the room first, why he didn’t knock, or why he didn’t check with the front desk before trying to break into our room. This could very well have been an inside job, with the Head of Housekeeping, the Front Desk, and maybe even the manager, who refused to talk to us as we were leaving the hotel, not feeling safe enough to stay there. This is very true! They won’t respond to my e-mails or telephone calls. This is the only way I can warn potential guests. Stay someplace else if you don’t want your vacation ruined by thieves!

My husband daughter and I stayed at this hotel June 17-19/05. Our first problem was that the room type that we had reserved (2 beds nonsmoking) was not available when we arrived. Our second problem was that we asked for a room on a specific floor and despite having called in advance to confirm, this was not available either.

The room we ended up in, was nice, the bed was clean and comfortable. The washroom was clean. Our room overlooked all the airconditioning vents and was directly beside the ice machine, etc. we would have preferred a quieter location.

The location is excellent, only minutes from a subway station. Directly across from the stadium. Close to the science center. All in all. The location was excellent.

A point to note is that if the lifeguard does not come to work then the pool will be closed and the hotel management has no back-up plan. This was very disappointing for our daughter.

Also note that highspeed internet is pricey here, I think it was $4.95 for an hour, but don't quote me. Once you are accustomed to free business internet, you become too cheap to pay : ).

Overall, I would stay here again despite the trivial issues. The car was safe, the service was fine, the room was clean and comfortable, what else really matters?

I had a friend come in from TX for a few days. We stayed here. The staff was courteous, friendly and helpful. Free shuttle to the airport was great. Rooms were clean and the Pine Restaurant made some of the most delicious Italian food I ever tasted. Very convenient to the #7 train which made getting into Manhattan really easy. Definitely would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to NY and I would stay here again.

I would feel safe, but I’m used to walking in the city. After the game let out it seemed like there was a cop at every corner keeping the crowds moving.
