My stay at the hotel was pleasant. The staff working here are very friendly and more than welcome to help with all requests made to them.
The only thing that I believe would make this location better would be the addition of a laundry room onsite.
Also, this location has lots of places to find a meal and entertainment.

Even before I arrived at the hotel, I was treated extremely well. I was looking for assistance on a different room type, and got the help I needed. Thank you so much to Gina for being so friendly and accommodating. Because of her, my parents and I got to enjoy our week at the hotel.
Our room had 2 queen beds plus a sleeper sofa. It is a great alternative to a smaller room, as it had 2 TV's, which my parents loved. It had all the plugs I needed for working. The beds where awesome too!
The hotel was close to restaurants, shopping and fast food. I had never heard of ShopRite and when I went inside I was blown away!
Due to "Covid", the pool was not open and the full hot breakfast was not completely available. We made the best of it, as they still had coffee, juice, bagels, muffins, granola bars and a breakfast sandwich you place in the microwave. I was very satisfied!
The hotel is only 1 exit away from LEGOLAND New York, very convenient!
Overall, we had a great week and again thank you to Gina, Gaby and the entire staff that made us feel very welcome.

I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel because I have had mixed experiences in Holiday Inn Express hotels. The hotel was very clean and seemed modern and recently updated. The room was large and comfortable and AC worked well. Check-in was quick even though there was a line when we arrived, and check out was even faster. The hotel is well located (for Chester NY), close to fast food, a diner, and Walgreens. Wifi and TV options were good.
I appreciated that they were strongly encouraging masks and most guests seemed to be complying. We could hear people moving up and down the hallways but not enough to disturb sleep.
The pool is closed but that was clear on the website before we arrived.

This is what I wrote to the Assistant General manager received no response then I called IHG they apologized and offered me points. I was told that I would need to speak to someone from the property level to receive a monetary refund. I called left a message and sent the following email still nothing!

I checked out of your hotel this morning and wanted to speak to someone about my stay but no one was at the desk or anywhere in the lobby. I had breakfast plans so I waited 5 minutes but had to leave. My family and I were in room 212 and we did not enjoy our stay at all. The heater sounded like an airplane going off. I asked the gentleman at the desk on Friday if someone could look at it while we went to dinner. Upon coming back it wasn’t looked at. We didn’t sleep that night. Next morning I went to the desk and again asked if someone could look at the AC I was then told that no one made them aware of my problem. The guy came to the room put the unit on low fan and said fixed. It was not fixed and again no sleep. The pull out couch had peanuts and other food under it as well as a computer USB port. The window was so dirty you couldnt see out of it. The pool had a light fixture and wire sitting on the edge of the pool. That was a huge safety hazard.
Overall I don’t think your hotel was worth the $200 a night that I paid. I am extremely disappointed.
I would like for yourself or another manager to get back to me please.

Light switches were connected to all electricity in the room. I was told I can either sleep with lights on in order to run my CPAP machine and charge my cell phone, or turn off all electricity to sleep in the dark. They told me they had no more rooms to move me to. They said a manager would give me a siginificant discount. I literally had to sleep with a towel over my head to block light. I was miserable. I have attempted to call 6 times and every time I get a different response when the manager will be in office. My latest call was responded by a very rude employee who yelled at me what do I want him to do. All I asked is what time the manager would arrive. I will be reporting this to Better Business Bureau, as providing electricity is a bare minimum requirement for a hotel room. This Holiday Inn gave me zero sympathy.

Worst customer service. Ceiling leaking water from bathroom above around the light fixture in my room fecal material coming from the ceiling into my bathtub. Clogged toilets backing up into my room with fecal material and paper. Danielle the supposed manager pretended not to know her managers name. Or pronunciation of it. They never offered to switch me into a different room or at least send someone to see what the problem was. Refusing to give me my money back for the room. Pictures of the ceiling show that this must’ve been a problem going on a while because the ceiling has stains on it from being waterlogged.

I was staying at the Holiday inn Express in Chester NY they had guests from a soccer tournament. I spent 3000 on a room I was very respectful, my room was flooded from toilet water,my clothes were destroyed and the Manager is claiming i caused the problem to save her job. Shame on you 😔 I spoke to cooperation serval times.

Our room was clean and comfortable. It had a walk-in shower and very comfortable mattress with nice bed linens and pillows. The front desk clerk was very friendly. Be aware that this hotel is near Lego Land and there are lots of children in the hotel, many of whom have no supervision, run in the hallways, and make lots of noise.

I didn't care for this hotel. The front desk employee seemed tired and overwhelmed from the moment we walked in. We asked for the WI-FI password and he seemed annoyed to have to provide an ( repeat this information for us) The hallways were very dirty, but the rooms were clean. Due to COVID there was no access to the pool which should have been made clear when making the reservation.

The last time I stayed here I rated this place 5 stars. Unfortunately, I did not have the same experience. We had to change rooms because our first room was very dirty. When we got to the second room it was not much cleaner. There was lots of food under the bed. The refrigerator door fell off when I opened it. Our room key had to get programmed several times. The beds were not comfortable at all.
the breakfast was pretty decent. They finally opened up the breakfast area and the pool. There was a good selection of cold cereals and some hot food . Breakfast was served from 630 till 930. There is a Burger King and Taco Bell right in front of the hotel and the kids love that. The Castle fun center is 1 mile away. ShopRite is across the street

I don't think so, but you should call. Becareful staying at this hotel. Did you read my review? The hotel in Middletown is close by and has a wonderful staff,restaurant and room service. Call and ask for the manager.
