Our experience here was one of the best we've had while traveling. It's obvious that management here guides with a professional, even hand. Every experience with the associates at the desk was handled not only quickly and efficiently, but with a polite friendliness and good humor. Any interaction with anyone working here was friendly. As we were leaving, there was a gentleman cleaning and shining the elevator! Just one of the ways all the details were seen to at this location. Our one bedroom suite was impeccable in cleanliness and provided with all we would need for a great stay - comfortable bed and bedding, fluffy towels, full kitchen, two TV's and comfortable living space. This hotel seemed very full, yet we barely heard doors closing in the hallways - something that often bothers us in other hotels. I am terribly picky with cleanliness and I could not find any fault in our suite! Nothing. The grounds were beautifully landscaped. The lobby bright and inviting. The breakfast area was large and frequently bused. Breakfast consisted of hot entrees (eggs, bacon, waffles, sausage), cereals, oatmeal with toppings, breads, fruit, juices - enough for anyone's tastes. When we are in this area again, we will certainly stay here again! Bravo to everyone at the Residence Inn in Wayne, NJ!

We recently spent 2 nights at this lovely hotel in northern NJ. This was a family visit with young children and the ability to eat outdoors in the patio area was so helpful. We were able to order food locally, bring it back to the hotel and the children could run off their excess energy. The front desk staff was very welcoming and accommodating. Our room was spotless. The breakfast was the usual fare, but had “real” oatmeal which was a treat. There were also “real” dishes that were much appreciated. The setting of the hotel is quite pleasant, it’s tucked away from the busyness of the area, hard to believe it was northern NJ. They had a small pantry area where you could purchase drinks (beer, cider, soda, etc) and other snack type foods. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again!

Stayed last evening for and event in the area. Room keys don't properly operate either the interior or exterior doors locking mechanisms. In addition to that door handles stick and latch mechanisms don't release and open doors once they're electronically unlocked. This represents a fire hazard since a child or older person would not be able to open these doors to get out of the rooms.
Rented two rooms, both had the problem, and it's apparently rampant since people were struggling getting in and out of rooms our entire visit. Hallway noise throughout the night was excessive.... people fighting with sticking doors and each other! I was woken about four times during the course of the night, the last time for forty minutes around 3:30 Multiple people screaming at some out of control drunk.
When I went down in the elevator this morning to get coffee, a used condom greeted me on the floor of elevator as it opened. Hotel clerk seemed annoyed that I'd bother mentioning it when I reported it.... Yep , a really classy joint !
There's more, but it all pales by comparison.... Silly things like bathroom door wouldn't close, there was no soap, about half the towels and pillows that should be provided.

Stayed here years ago and at that time the place was fairly descent. But recently was displaced by a claim at my home and stayed there for 9 weeks. This place has gone down. They do not follow CDC or COVID protocol. No hand sanitizer, no face coverings not even the staff, garbage in hallways and elevators. Now there is hand sanitizer machines but was empty!
When I first arrived, I had a problem with my room key not once but twice. That seemed to be a problem for my entire duration of our stay. Also asked If I could be placed far away from any animals since my daughter is highly allergic. I was told that they had no idea what rooms the animals were in? Now if you are charging an extra fee for pets, don't you think you would keep better track of that. There was at least an animal on every floor and wing. If they will accommodate pets, please keep them on one wing or dedicate a floor. One evening as we returned from dinner someone let their cat roam the hallway. I freaked out. Take that damn cat outside. Or let it roam inside your room.
Finally, the garbage and cigarette buds that's outside the property was an eye sore. The smokers, smoke right outside the doors. No distance from them and the entrance. The smell of smoke was more common than actually seeing someone clean up inside or outside of the hotel.
If you love pets, then by all means. I think management should do a better job with making sure the hotel is clean and up to date with curtain situation.

Dear Guide744259, Thank you for your review about your recent stay with us. I must however say that I am disappointed to hear you were not satisfied with your visit. If you would like to discuss the pet issue further I am available anytime, however all Residence Inn hotels are pet friendly. So many of our guests are displaced from their homes for long periods of time, like you were, and we want to make sure the entire family can be relocated, even the little fury ones. I am also very disturbed about your claim that we do not follow CDC guidelines. We have a very strict policy about masks that was put in place when the resurgence of Covid 19 hit in mid December. Despite there being no requirements by the state or CDC we still enforce a mask policy for all employees. We also have eight hand sanitizer stations throughout the public areas of the hotel just in case one of them may be empty. Hopefully if you decide to return to stay with us we can resolve some of these issues. Thank you again for your review and for spending such an extended time with us.

Stay away! For mainly two reasons I am warning people to not stay here. First, the pool is disgusting. You can't see the bottom and there were lots of things in it. Second, we stayed in room 117 and little did we know we were next to a 24 hour gym that had people in it until 1am and it sounded like people were running on a treadmill and throwing down weights in our bed. When we complained the front desk simple said "it's a 24 hour gym". And my question is not why do you have a gym but how do you decide who gets a terrible nights sleep? No sympathy or offer of anything was given. For this reason I will never stay again. The next day when checking out no one asked how our stay was.
The free breakfast is sub-par and our room was run down. It was decently clean and roomy if I had to give it a positive.

I've stayed here about a half dozen times over the last couple of years while visiting family in Bergen County. This hotel is actually 20 miles from my destination but I find it worth the extra driving to stay here.
One of the best attributes is the location which is on a wooded hill with no through streets or traffic noise (rare in NJ). Despite the relative seclusion, it is near multiple restaurants, stores etc.
Lots of attention to detail. The rooms have always been clean. The property is well maintained and landscaped. The staff friendly and accomodating.
I'm a veteran traveller with about 3,000 hotel stays under my belt. These guys do it right.

I have stayed here before for work I like usually do but was put on the second floor the second time I stayed here nothing but music blasting and people on the basketball court later then 10 pm do not stay here if you plan on being up early the next day. Also tried calling hotel lobby both of my phones in my room did not work. They said, "oh that's weird."

Overall, there were no issues with the hotel. It is a bit off the beaten path, but close to restaurants. The issue that I encountered was one of indifference on the part of the hotel staff. Upon checking in I specifically requested that my room be cleaned on the morning of the third day. The Assistant Manager assured my that my request would be taken care of.
Before leaving the hotel for my meetings, I checked at the Front Desk that the room would be cleaned. For some interesting reason, they found no record of the request, but assured me that the room would be cleaned. Upon arriving back at the end of the day, I discovered that room was not cleaned. Returned to the front desk where I encountered the Assistant Manager with whom I had made arrangements on the 1st night.
Total indifference. Her attitude was simply "oh well", "Nothing that I can", "What is the issue" When asked how it could be the two requests were ignored, she had nothing to say.
One can do better. With all of the choices for hotels, one can do much better. I for one will not return.

This is a wonderful hotel. It’s clean and modern. The free breakfast is plentiful and the eat in area is large and clean. Rooms are comfortable. It’s located near many shops and restaurants. Staff is friendly. We used the laundry room which was very convenient. Thanks for a great stay.
