Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Friendly people at front desk, lobby very clean. The few times we have been there the rooms are out dated. the bedding and curtains have cigarette burns in them, no clocks, TV and lamps rarely works. Bathroom has no toiletries . Some patrons live there or short stay are old and creepy hanging around the outside.

My friend and I were driving all night and the Wayne inn was the only place that wasn't booked solid. I guess it was graduation time or something. So we called Wayne inn and they said they have some rooms. We got there around 3:30am and the price was around $94ish which I thought was kinda pricey. We walked in the room and 2 of the 5 lights didn't work and the room was dark! (I think it's a good thing the lights didn't work). The bathroom was a out dated 1970's baby blue with mildew and and masking tape holding up the curtain rod and the TV remote literally looked like there was poop on it so we didn't use it. The blankets were covered in cigarette burns and the the bed went in a slope inward so I had to sleep in the center of the bed. When I finally got to sleep around 4:45 I woke up a few times to what I think was a spider crawling on my face which freaked me out. I woke up around 8:30am and the sun was shining so I opened up the curtains and looked at my friend and then looked at the wall and saw Feces, blood, a whiteish substance (above where my head was) and cigarette burns. I was thuroughly surprised. The best part about the room was the A/C. I honestly wouldn't go there again without a hazmat suit. I'm sure they had nice rooms but we definitely didn't get one of those. Room 111 was probably the worst room there. The staff were nice but I didn't bother complaining because what's the point. They probably wouldn't fix it anyways. I have a couple pictures but I have no clue on how to upload them. I wish I read a review before we stayed there.

I'm not going to lie, I was a bit sceptical about staying here after reading the reviews. But, I gave it a try. First, the front desk rep was very nice and pleasant. The motel is very retro but it is cute, if you want to reminisce. If retro is your thing you will enjoy your stay. The Wayne Inn still uses keys to unlock the guest doors and It has been a long time since I have had to use a key. Upon walking in I heard nothing but traffic from route 23, so I immediately called the front desk and asked if I could move to room in the rear of the building since I am light sleeper. The young lady at the front desk was very accommodating and gave me a room in the rear, which was so much better. Now, if you are one who likes all the bells and whistles, drive on. But I was exhausted and all I needed was a bed, a tv and a remote control. Now as far the tv: I must say I was quite surprised when I turned on the tv and hardcore porn was showing. I havent been to hotel where porn is featured since the 90's. So if you have children, please beware. I suggest deleting the channels as I did. You can do this by going to the MENU button, which is found on TV and walk your way through. The room could stand some better cleaning. One of the night stands was stained with food of some sort and there was debris under and behind the night stands as well. The shower and the floor tile grout needs to scrubbed or regrouted and new pillows are needed. There was a cold draft coming from windows so tucked the curtains under. As far as my night, I slept like a rock. It was so very quiet and very peaceful. Lastly, the highlight of my stay................the shower! Wow, what a great shower! The water was hot upon turning it on and the power of the shower head.....amazing! It provided a great back massage and also a great hair detangler! Lol. The shower alone is worth the trip back. All in all, it wasnt bad as I some of the reviews depicted. Then again, to each its own. Hope this helps.

This is a great place to stay if you are looking for a good night sleep. Nothing fancy but the hotel does have great coffee and pastries. I was planning to only stay one night but ended up staying for the entire trip as it was so convenient to NYC by bus or train and why pay NYC price if you can back and forth with no problem. Wayne Transit Train and Bus stop is right next to the hotel which made it so convenient. The staff are very friendly and the rooms were adequate, the best thing about the room was the shower which was a power shower with good running hot water. For the price I paid for the week I was able to do things in NYC with the left over money. Very nice hotel

Wayne Inn, NJ should receive the award for the filthiest motel in the eastern sea board for 100 $ a night after taxes. There was dried up organic stains on the side table, there was dust the likes of hairball on the lamp shades. The pillows covers had grease stains from the previous occupant and were crumpled and they were not changed out. The telephone in the room had dried up cough on the mouth piece. The shower was moldy. the toilet bowl looked like it was stolen from a preschool. the air vents had balls of dust on it. the room was so dusty it was not breathable. If you desperately want to have lifelong fungal skin disease, this is your spot. This motel is straight out of hell. I give it 0 stars!

We were there for The Gathering at Sunnybank and had checked into the La Quinta up the road.... the room THEY gave us had a KNOWN ISSUE of the AC Unit draining INTO the Room so it was musty and damp at La Quinta...... My wife went out to Dinner, came back and the room was WAY worse, so we checked out of La Quinta and found the Wayne Inn and were impressed. it's not a 5 star Hotel but at the AAA Discounted Rate of $70 / night, it was fine. they do charge an extra $2 a night for a Refrigerator but that was fine by us.

We're going to stay there again & again as long as we go to Sunnybank.

Wayne Motor Inn is an impressive public rest room. It is one of Americas largest public restroom that comes with a bed. They rent out large over sized urinal stalls that they like to call rooms, for 90 to 100 dollars a night. This establishment has all the visual appeal and smells of a 24/7 Halloween Horror house.this is the best place to break up with your partner where you can send your soon to be X back home with skin irritations, fleas etc that will last a life time. If you plan to shave all your hair off the next day please rent it today. the rooms rent out so fast here, room service cant keep up so guests get to share the previous guests sheets and towels.

This place is so rude. Im a 118lb 26 year old and i was stranded in NJ for the night. Because my car broke down. Would not let me use my credit card (I'm from out of state) was very rude while waiting for my friends mom to come with a credit card. Wouldn't even let us sit-in the lobby and threatening to call the cops if I didn't pay right at that moment. I would not stay here by any means. Definitely when there are nicer motels and hotels for 85 an night.

"Good hotel, within easy reach of NYC. Why pay NYC price when you can pay fraction for good comfort and clean hotel room. Also the fare to NYC from Wayne is $6.00 each way. A drop in the ocean compared to NYC hotel price. It takes less than 30 mins to the city."
