Welcome to the Spring Lake Inn, where European-style hospitality, history and contemporary amenities blend together for an unforgettable vacation experience. We’ve been told that our inn is unpretentious, yet elegant, inviting, yet private for those guests who need time and space to unwind. Built in 1888 as the Grand Central Stables of Spring Lake NJ, the inn is only a block from the ocean and the 2-mile boardwalk. We serve sumptuous breakfasts at your own table in the grand dining room as well as afternoon snack. Our 80 ft. Victorian porch is irresistible. Each of the 17 spacious guestrooms and suites offer all or a combination of the following luxury features: fireplace, ocean view, Jacuzzi, 4-poster bed, sleigh bed, refrigerator and digital cable TV. Fine dining, boutique shopping and spa pampering are only blocks away. Spring Lake New Jersey is one of America’s most genteel seashore towns where time can stand still at our “European Mansion by the Sea.”

Charming, warm, clean. These are some initial descriptors that come to mind during our two-night, enjoyable stay at The Spring Lake Inn at the end of April. This bed and breakfast has a "good soul," as Innkeeper Andy said, and we felt that in its solid presence and endearing vibe. The Inn is only two blocks' walking distance to the south end pavilion at Spring Lake beach. The Innkeepers had thought of all the necessities: from extra hand towels and wash cloths on each floor to recycling bins to the available tray of wine glasses in the front foyer should you need a glass for an evening sip of wine before visiting one of the lovely oceanfront restaurants nearby. We stayed in the Moonbeam on the top floor and had a triangle window view of the ocean facing out to the Salem Avenue. The bed was especially comfortable. The home was quiet and inviting. Parking was plentiful. Breakfast was tasty with a selection of breads, fruit, yogurt, cereal and the most delicious coffee. We highly recommend The Spring Lake Inn for any short or long term getaway.

We returned to the Spring Lake Inn for the 17th year in a row! This historic Inn has everything you could possibly want in a B&B. FIRST, the hospitality is TOP NOTCH. Inn Keepers Andy and Barbara always go above and beyond to make you feel so welcome. Their staff treats you with the utmost respect and cater to all of your needs. The Inn is beautiful, the rooms are spacious and always very clean and the daily hot breakfasts are delicious!! There are plenty of breakfast choices to go along with a daily hot special including baked goods, cereals, fresh fruit and non stop coffee. In the afternoon, there is fresh baked goods and fruit for the guests along with iced tea or lemonade. Can't say enough great things about the Inn and the family that owns it. It is always such a special time away at the Jersey Shore when we stay at The Spring Lake Inn!

I had never stayed at a B&B and wanted to be able to cross it off my bucket list, while surprising my husband with an early Christmas gift as we hadn’t been away together alone in 10 years. I came across this location in my search and after reading the reviews I booked The Seraphim Room because I am a bit of an HGTV junkie! I didn’t want to travel out of our home state with Covid. This hidden gem by the sea provided a much needed respite from the day to day craziness and allowed us to forget for a little bit that we were not only in NJ, but we are still dealing with a global pandemic. Mr. Seaman was a polite gentleman who greeted us with a socially distant smile every time we saw him. We will definitely return for another stay in the future!

The Inn IS our bucket list. We appreciate choosing us and enjoyed our great conversations. Please don't wait another 10 years, life is short. We look forward to seeing you here again. Always great quiet season rates, especially for returning nice people. Be well.

We checked in and went to our room, and immediately smelled mold. From the lumpy bed, worn out sheets, dirty and stained furniture we knew this was a big mistake. Went to the bathroom to take a shower,no air conditioning , mold in the shower, faucets loose and smelling of bleach. Some cheap costco pump soaps that every guest would use.We have stayed in many inns in Spring Lake but this was beyond. Left within the hour, went to lock the door and it wouldn’t work. Went downstairs to try and find a assistant and finally after knocking someone came out. The snacks were pitiful in the dining room, watered down ice tea and some cheap brownie. Nothing was COVID protocol. Will be calling charge company this morning to put in dispute. DO NOT STAY HERE!

This is the second time we stayed at the inn, and we were a little disappointed. Our room was so stark, and unattractive, and we were surprised by it. It also needed painting and repair. The room was large enough for a comfortable chair, but there was only a bed and a small chair.
Also, the inn is in need of updating. Many of the common areas need painting, and the beach chairs and towels are very outdated. We also thought it was an adults only inn, but there were many small children there. On the upside, it was clean and the breakfast under these conditions was good, The location is also excellent, and the prices are not bad for the shore.
I would have been more confortable if there were hand sanitizers in various places like by the doors.

Thank you for staying with us again. We greatly appreciate it especially during these unusual times. We would appreciate knowing which room you are referencing as all our rooms are different. Many decorative items have been removed due to coronavirus and cleaning protocol. Our dining room has just been renovated with shiplap which is our largest common space.,so I'm unsure of which many areas you mentioned. Beach chairs and towels are new each year and used daily for an entire season. We have always been know to be a pristine Inn and have additional cleaning protocols done throughout the day and evening. Hand sanitizer is located on the front desk and dining room. These are very challenging times and we are thankful for all our guests who have chosen us.

We stayed at the Spring Lake Inn the weekend of June 18. We were "greeted" by a very grumpy elderly man who was not happy to see us. The room was clean but the comforter and pillows looked old and dingy. Not sure why they can't replace these every season to make it more appealing. The biggest disappointment was the breakfast. They put out a cold grab and go assortment of cheap, unappealing items including hard boiled eggs, sliced melon, store bought muffins and breads and what looked like Lenders bagels. The coffee was weak and tasteless. For a $300 a night bed and breakfast, we got a lumpy bed with old linens and a terrible breakfast. If you want to use the COVID excuse for not serving a hot breakfast, at least put out a better selection of real bagels, bakery items and a better selection of fresh fruit. Also, the rooms were not cleaned every day. If mask wearing isn't required and everything is open, then stop using COVID as a reason for the lacking service or reduce your prices until you can provide the quality of service your guests deserve. We have stayed in many B&B's, but this isn't one that I will be returning to.

Covid has not been kind to American small businesses and we are no exception. Sad to say that the Normandy Inn and Beacon House have now closed. All of our guests that come through the door are so happy to be here after being held captive for over a year. We are very excited to welcome our many regulars and positive energy new guests. There is substantial inaccurate information in this review. May has always been in season at the shore. The rate for the Tower View is $399 plus $50 for each additional guest, plus taxes of 14.625%. Your total was $776.02 and Not the over $800 listed. As many people know there is a premium to stay in this unique multi million dollar town. Unlike other area B & B's we do have some rooms for additional guests. Yes, We do have a bathroom on the first floor contrary to your complaint about having to climb stairs. We stated that it was a 3rd floor room when we took your reservation and gave you the discount. Contractors like everyone were required to stay home so we are waiting our turn. It's good to be understanding and empathetic of another workers situation. We explain everything at check in including our European breakfast table hours 830 to 10. And No, the reviews are not 5 years old. We have adjusted our operation for pristine cleanliness and social distancing. We do make the perfect hard boiled egg here according to our guests. We are The Only area place that has cereal, milk, yogurt, OJ, Baskets of oranges, apples & bananas, Italian Rainbow cookies, chocolate stuffed imported french croissants( what was listed as danish), hot coffee, 20 different tea selection, etc......left out all day. Always something available to eat or drink. Hersheys chocolates at our front desk each day as well. We engage with our guests that seem to want conversation. Perhaps I was the only one involved in the conversation that I had with your family at the coffee area. We are 1 block to the beach even when the entrance is closed off. We do not have photos of breakfast items on our website. Perhaps you were on an outdated 3rd party site. They still have operations listed that have been closed for years in Spring Lake. We always welcome fair and truthful criticism.

My family and I have been coming to the Spring Lake Inn for many years, and I promise that you will absolutely LOVE your stay! The rooms are beautiful, the beds are comfortable, and the hospitality is exceptional. Innkeepers Andy, Barbara, and the entire staff do their very best to meet your expectations and make you feel at home. In addition, the location of the Inn couldn't be more convenient. If you like the beach, it's only a block away, and if you don't, you can still enjoy some time outside on the Inn's beautiful front porch. It is also a short 10 minute walk to town. Every morning, they offer a delicious homemade hot breakfast which always includes a variety of fruits, pastries, cereals, and jams. The fresh-baked afternoon cookies, watermelon, and iced tea are also a perfect treat after a day at the beach. My family and I absolutely love our stays at the Spring Lake Inn, and can't wait to return for another great trip!

Spring Lake Inn fit our need for a quick get-away perfectly. It's a lovely Victorian building and our room was charming. The Inn is just a block from the boardwalk and beach which allowed us to take walks at various times of the day including in the evening since the boardwalk has lights. Breakfast was delicious and the hostess was very welcoming and friendly. This was the perfect get-away for us catch our breath after the hectic holidays.

My wife and I came into town to visit family. We wanted to stay at the Spring Lake Inn because we heard through family that the owners were great folks and very involved in the Point Beach/Spring Lake/ Manasquan community.

Our stay was perfect for us. We felt like the Inn was our own house. The owner worked with us on our arrival time and checked in with us to make sure all was good. We spent a nice night in Spring Lake and felt the room was perfect for our visit. The owner greeted us at breakfast and made sure all was good with our stay.

There are plenty of options regarding rooms. We will definitely come back to the Inn and strongly recommend this location for one or two night visits off season as well as summer visits.

We have been coming to this B&B for years and have noticed a decline in service and hospitality of late. Not only have the breakfasts been scaled down and the afternoon baked treats gone, but the owner didn’t even try to engage in conversation with his guests to make them feel welcome. It’s a pity as we like Spring Lake and enjoy staying at B&Bs for the cozy, homey atmosphere they provide but this establishment felt more like a cold hotel.

We apologize for falling short of your expectations. It is important to let a business know when you're there so they have a chance to make corrections or adjustments. During this unprecedented time in our history, we have adjusted our service to allow for safe distancing for all. Our guests appreciate this effort and prefer this accommodation. We now offer a breakfast table where guests can select from a variety of items at their leisure to maintain distancing. We honor special requests if possible when asked. Our morning coverage staff is in and out of the dining room during breakfast hours. We appreciate the feedback which is shared with our staff for improvements. Please call Andy for a special Thank You.
