Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Horrible motel, and even worse management. The rooms are extremely outdated with broken items in the room... and watch out, because they will charge you for those broken items that were already defective. Cockroaches are present. Ironically, the rooms are entirely overpriced as well. It is very unclean and very uncomfortable - Sea Isle is a great beach town but I would NOT recommend staying here because it will put a damper on your trip.

La Costa is just a basic hotel with the necessities. The location is what makes it. Walking distance of everything you need. Beach is a block away,Wawa is across the street, many restaurants and pizza shops and of course Welshie's, a must see Irish eatery!! And the outdoor deck attached to the hotel has great music and great people!

A group of friends and I rented two rooms here for the weekend. When booking the room we were told we had a room that could accomidate 6 people. We were supposed to have two double beds and a pull out couch. We get to the room and there are two beds and no couch. We went downstairs to tell management and they said the room we had does not come with a couch. How do you tell someone the room accomidates 6 with only two beds? The manager then offered us a smaller room that included a couch but it did not include a kitchenette or balcony that we paid more for. He then offered to bring an air mattress but that we would not be able to get it until the second night because he had to get it from his home and he did not want to drive it back that night. What the heck were we expected to do for night one??! Luckily the part of our group who reserved the second room did not need two beds and allowed us to use their empty bed.

The next morning my friends wristlet that had her cards, Id and cash was stolen from her room while she went to the beach. Maid service had come in while they were gone and it mysteriously disappeared. After confronting management who would not even walk upstairs to check the maids cart we called the police filed a report .

We have been coming to the jersey shore for weekend getaways for years and have never had such a horrific experience. We will definitely not be coming back here ever again.

Save your time, money, and belongings and just drive a bit further down to wildwood to stay.

Broke air conditioner, damp floor and bedding, weird smell in room. Add in the rudeness of the staff... real downer to my vacation. Left after first night. Was told I would receive refund for additional two nights, still haven't heard back from owner. Save your money.

If I could rate this a negative 10 I would. This is by far the most disgusting place I have ever had the misfortune of sleeping. We, thankfully, were only staying here one night until a beach rental we were getting opened up. Normally I wouldn't write a review on someplace I was only staying for one night, but it was so bad I want to warn others away from it. First of all the linens on the bed were dirty, the room was damp and mildewy and the room was dusty. There was mold growing in the shower, I have a severe mold allergy so this caused me problems. We were put in a room with a window right next to the neighboring bar, which is open and full of partiers until 2am. I understand that people party at the beach and don't begrudge the bar for that, but the motel should have made us aware of that, as we got in at midnight and were exhausted. It is close to the beach, but pay a little more and stay in a better place. My husband had respiratory issues for the rest of our vacation and we blame in on the five hours of sleep we got at this motel. The only good thing about it was leaving it.

I found the accommodations to be clean, but that was about it. It's dated and tired.

The best thing about it is that you can crawl up the stairs from one of the reunion parties it holds on the plaza outside on Saturday nights. It wasn't cheap...however, the staff was friendly and helpful, even though they looked tired too. Got the wrong room and they quickly switched it. But, for the money, there must be some nicer places

We headed for the LaCosta to join the Jerry Blavat Sunday afternoon Jam Session (4-7pm) in the Lounge - a Shore tradition during the summer for people from Philly and South Jersey, Geatorville. We arrived early to check out the scene in Sea Isle City. There’s a small parking lot at LaCosta - one of our friends joining us actually was able to find a space. On the street, there’s parking at electronic meters charging $1 an hour which we thought was reasonable.

We walked up to LaCosta about a half hour before start time and were told, “If you want to go in early, you can.” That was nice. We staked out a place at the bar. If you want that, come early. The LaCosta complex appears to include not only the Lounge, but a deck bar, a motel and a liquor store as well. The lounge has a huge oval bar ruled over by fast and experienced bartenders. Those guys are so good they could be part of the show - all smiles and all business. Before the 4pm start time, several age-appropriate Geator fans wandered in and took their regular positions. Jerry himself came around 430 and the fun began.- Jerry’s loud signature music as well as a few new ones thrown in. The crowd was mostly respectful with only a couple exceptions during the time we were there. It was a mix of Geator-generation and young Sea Isle types looking for an afternoon of fun. Figuring out the bill at the end, it looks as if the drinks were about $5 each.

We are fans of Jerry Blavat, the Geator with the Heater, so this was a fun afternoon all around.

This place was dirty and needs much updating. Matresses are dirty and stained. Bathroom is from the 70's. WE found condom wrappers and a used coke bag on the dresser. When we got out of the shower and walked around our feet were black. SO gross. Yes it is a great location but I would have rather walked.

Dear La Costa, You have been home to many friends of mine that play in Sea Isle but I beg of you if you are going to charge more than you are worth put on a smile at the desk do not make a paying customer beg for a place to park and do not call this a hotel if you are not going to put forth the effort. If there is a bar outside the window the curtain should work so there are not drunken creepers at your window. To the bartenders and staff at the Lounge and the pack in go. Thank you for always being top rate bartenders and keeping us all coming back for more. (Ps I self medicated to sleep cause the room and bed were that bad)
