You have to pay attention to exiting the freeway due to the odd New Jersey traffic flow patterns, but this hotel is definitely worth the effort. Our room preference was honored and we were provided with very friendly service during our multi-night stay. Our King room was large, modern and spotlessly clean, The breakfast area was also quite clean although its menu offerings could be improved. Its security is also very good - access to the parking lot is not directly off of NJ-17, you turn at the Dunkin Donuts on to Airmont to get to it. Also a short, convenient drive to the Route 17 Ramsey train station with a multilevel parking garage for commuting to NYC Penn Station as a sightseeing base. Will definitely stay here again when back in the NYC area!

This has been one of the best hotels we have been to, the gentleman at the front desk was extremely helpful had bottled water in the breakfast area and banana's and told us to help ourselves. Was able to give us an extra towel when we used the wrong one on the floor to step onto. The breakfast was hot with alot of variety. I love the wrapped food for sanitary reasons and the milk cartons.Loved the bottled water container that allowed us to fill up our bottle. Only thing I didn't like is we put some water in the fridge and then went to dinner, didn't realize that it wasn't plugged in until we got back, my husband had to find a way to plug it in so our food wouldn't go bad.

We spent one night at this hotel on a trip. The reception staff was very welcoming and answered our questions easily and pleasantly. We were in room 214 which is on the back of the hotel. We did not hear any noise from busy Route 17. There are two restaurant choices within safe walking distance and access to and from Route 287 was easy. The entire hotel was clean. It is either a new hotel or newly renovated as everything was up to date and aesthetically pleasing.The breakfast includes hot options. I cannot think of ANYTHING to say that is negative about this hotel!

Our check-in was fast and the lady was very nice. The beds were very comfortable and allowed me to have a good nights sleep. The fridge and climate control was quite. The bathroom was extremely small (with no room for a sink) so the sink was part of the bedroom (never something we look forward to). The towels had long threads hanging from them which could have easily been cut off to make them look much better. The water pressure in the tub/shower was very low and made it hard to get soap out of your hair.
Breakfast was a complete disappointment. We choose HIE mainly because we love their cinnabons. Since they are known for them you would think they would put them out soon enough so they would be warm when they opened for breakfast. Their cinnabons had not been put out under the heat lamp soon enough and were still hard and cold. They didn't even have a microwave in the dining area to warm them in. I'll forgive them for the bad bathroom design but never for not having warm buns.

This hotel is very clean; the desk staff is professional and courteous; and the breakfast area is well maintained with capable staff. We requested a room that faced the back of the building to avoid the highway noise, which was gladly granted. Parking in front of the building is well lit. We have used this hotel many times on trips from Virginia to New Jersey to visit friends and family. It has been consistently excellent. It's because of Holiday Inns like this that we continue to use this chain as our go-to hotel.

Very good accommodations, clean well-maintained room, friendly staff, and a good breakfast. The hotel is on a busy highway, so we requested a room in the back. The hotel was reasonably priced for the area. The shower didn’t have much water pressure, otherwise we were very satisfied.

Usually I stay in Hiltons or Marriotts, but I was out of luck for the NY Renaissance Faire. I'm used to the security measures the other 2 hotel chains have. This hotel didn't have locked doors at a specific time. We asked for a room away from the elevator....we were 2 doors from the elevator. We were also on the floor of a bunch of blocked rooms for a wedding and they were up all night and again at 6 in the morning with doors slamming, kids running up and down hall and just general congregating in the halls. Poor sleep that night. I was also uncomfortable with breakfast. They did provide gloves, but no one wore them. Some of the people seemed like vagrants who slept in their cars and came in for breakfast. Maybe they help the homeless, but if I'm a paying customer....Our second day we didn't go to breakfast because I was that uncomfortable.

This is a good option, whether passing through or needing to stay in the area. The hotel public space and rooms were very clean. Although the room itself was quite small, the beds were comfortable and everything felt clean and updated. The location is weird right on Rt 17, but we had a room facing the back so the noise wasn't a problem. The breakfast was pretty decent for a hotel breakfast and the coffee was out the whole time we were there.

Super friendly and wildly efficient receptionist, Heina (sp?). I was given a quiet room tucked at the top back corner of the building without even having to ask, which was very lovely! Nice relaxing view of a little green park out back.
Quite clean throughout the building. Comfortable and friendly faces in the hallways.
Excellent breakfast for those without any allergies (a gluten-free bread or non-dairy milk/creamer would be great so I could enjoy some cereal or anything besides scrambled eggs).
Convenient to tons of shops and places to eat.
Good value. I would definitely stay here again.

Do not, under any circumstance stay at this flea bag hotel…. This franchised hotel is not only dingy dirty but the hotel is run by people who don’t understand the business. Or even simple customer service. If there were zero stars I’d give a zero to this disgusting excuse for a hotel.

Hello,
We not have a shuttle, however we can arrange for a taxi to drop you to the train station.
We do not have coin operated laundry machines for guest use, but we have a same day service that picks laundry from Mon-Fri.
We live in town - it is not 70 miles to time square - more like 30. There r many options to get to nyc as many people commute there each morning. As noted you can take a train or there is an express bus that runs down franklin turnpike Mahwah each morning. Both train and bus are very close to hotel-a minimum fare Uber ride about 5 dollars
There are more places to choose from in the Ramsey area.
