Detailed Reviews
First time staying here. It's a nice large hotel that has some great common areas that would be terrific to use when they're open. The lounge was closed and the restaurant was doing room service. Staff was terrific. Just note that there's only two floors so if you're on the first floor, you should make sure the curtain is closed before showering, etc.
I look forward to returning when I can enjoy more of their amenities.

Held a safe, socially distant outside wedding reception on the Grattela Terrace and it was AWESOME. The staff could not have been nicer or more helpful. Lori, the caterering manager was very helpful with decorations, flowers and making the smaller and restricted event wonderful. Everyone raved about the food especially the seared scallops and "passed hors d'oeurves" that needed to be set up stationary and served. "Canned cocktails" turned out to be a great assortment of cocktails (that actually came in glass bottles, but were served over ice!) Good mix of wine and beer and even a space for the bride and groom to have a dance.

Have been to this location for a decade or so. Many years at N.J. dental conventions in the building and for quite a number of years just to get away with my wife for a retreat like vacation. After being away due to covid, we returned mid-December. First shock was that a number of workers especially at the food and bar area remembered us. The place was extremely clean. Most things were running very well, and the M room is starting to return back to itself with a decent breakfast arrangement and extra pickups like water, juice, yogurt, breakfast bars. The grounds are so relaxing inside and out. We had dinner at a real nice Italian restaurant in Kingston, very close to the Marriot. The front desk was top of the line in performance. The housekeeping was excellent. The bar and restaurant included workers like Emma, Ciana, and all the rest who remembered us. The big treat was seeing the doorman, ex-boxer, Larry "Brooklyn"" Ciccone. He has always been very helpful in the past and still is the same. A true Champion. When I stay here, I never make it to downtown Princeton on an overnight stay. There is so much to do in the complex. I save Downtown Princeton for separate day trips, living an hour away. Highly recommend.

As a Marriott ex-associate, in the front desk department, I’m truly shocked. Our jobs is to provide the best service. Every single day we are constantly dealing with guests needs and wants. As they should, because that it what they expect and are essentially paying for. They’re not solely paying for the rooms, it is the first impression, the feeling they receive at this particular location, the amenities, everything.
My boyfriend, who also works for a Marriott property, and needed a break. We took some time to be on the opposite side of the spectrum.
Checking in was lovely, and so was the stay. However, I will not act like everything was peachy. There was hair on the wall in the bathroom & a used coffee cup underneath the sitting chair (which I found upon checking out).
It’s tough when you’re in that situation!
You immediately go back into “work mode” and think to yourself, “Do you really want to be that person?” & I chose not to. I chose not to be difficult over something like that & took it. I didn’t want to ruin my one night there.
However, the coffee cup was an absolute joke.
As a Marriott employee, and as an Elite Member you are aware that you are able to check in online. Which I happened to do so without even realizing. Regardless, none of it mattered due to the fact that my boyfriend had to submit an Employee discount form. Meaning I had to stop by the front desk, anyway. Matthew Fontana
was a great help. From start to finish. Upon checking out, I decided to bring the mystery coffee cup to the desk. Jennifer Eickel was the agent that I was explaining my story to. Her facial expression behind the mask appeared puzzled & her obvious response was “I apologize about........if you had saw it sooner and said something we would’ve offered a room change.” Am I not supposed to be expecting a clean room?
She then went to say, “It appears that you checked in online at 9AM” Insinuating that it was my cup! It boggled me solely because yes, although that may be true, she can also see when I physically got to the property, swiped my card, and checked in. So the statement was invalid and pretty much pointless.
I left to my car, retuned to the desk to ask for a receipt because I just didn’t trust the hotel anymore at this point. When I returned she asked which department I work for at Marriott & once I said front desk it appeared that it all clicked in her head.
Do I ever leave long, detailed reviews like this? No, because I know how important it can be to the hotel itself. I just felt the need to explain this in detail to see how frustrating it can be to deal with both sides of the spectrum. All in all, simply choose people who WANT to work for this industry, housekeeping included.

Spent two days here and witnessed nearly every hospitality atrocity possible. When I checked in I was initially told they had been very busy and only had twin bed rooms left. When I said this was unacceptable I was eventually given a king bed handicapped accessible room. When I was leaving my room later and wanted to lock up several valuables there was no in-room safe. I had to go to the front desk and store them in a flimsy lockbox.
Overall the staff is uninspired. They were helpful at times, but it seems a majority of the staff is on cruise control. Most disturbing was a staff member that was repeatedly mocking a crying baby that was in the lobby. There were snickers from some of the staff before he was told by one of them to stop.
The restaurant food is flat out not good. Both lunch and breakfast I had were tasteless and Sysco rejects. The service was meh. The bartender was attentive, but overwhelmed and I was able to get one cocktail only before I left.
For a hotel that is smack-dab in pharma country it seems clear they don't care about quality. I'd look for other options.

Having stayed at this property many times in the past and written several positive reviews, this review is basically for business customers. It is meant to show what full service hotels should not do to their best customers. Under the guise of the pandemic this full service Marriott now offers the same service and benefits of a Motel 6-nothing is available at this place. Checking in I was provided an extensive list of what was not available: No newspaper, no welcome gift, no morning coffee in the lobby, no drink coupon, which was in the website, as a perk for all the other discontinued services, no grab and go breakfast unless it is purchased, etc. And the general staff attitude was " What can we do less for a paying customer? "
I guarantee that business customers will remember when the pandemic is over how penny wise and pound foolish this place is. Give me a good Fairfield Inn any day- better value and nicer attitude.

We have shared your experience and concerns with the affiliated management teams. We highly value our guests and strive to make every stay exceptional and memorable. Thank you again for choosing to stay with us and we do hope you will join us again.

Upon arrival the room had a strong musty/mildewy odor. The receptionist was nice and we changed rooms which smelled better but the AC never really cooled the room well. We were all too tired to complain or move our things again especially as our kids already fell asleep.
My real issue was with the amenities the hotel advertises as. My brother in law picked this because of the resort like amenities. But they were very lacking
Tennis was separate indoor courts that charge $25/hour for use and need to be reserved in advance (and have very limited hours)
The basketball court is an overrun piece of asphalt and a small hoop that wasn’t maintained well. When i asked if that was the court referenced, I was given a sheepish yes and a shrug. Like they knew it was an issuw.
The indoor pool was freezing cold. When we said something to management they replied it was 89 degrees. (We we’re all too cold to stay in it). No vouchers for breakfast or any apologies were offered etc.
The game room was cute with a small room that had foosball, pool and shuffleboard (probably one group can use the room at a time).
We tried to make the best of it. But it was disappointing that we spent a lot of money to make a weekend at the hotel and really didn’t feel like the amenities were as advertised.

We've begun to visit this hotel whenever we want a weekend away. It is so relaxing. As a Titanium Elite member, we get the free breakfast, and they always upgrade us to a junior suite (there are no large suites in the hotel.) The grounds are pretty, and you can walk in the woods adjacent to the hotel. The gym has some brand new equipment, and the pool is nice. The spa looks good too, although we haven't tried it yet. It's an easy ride into the town of Princeton. The M Club is open during the week, so that's a nice plus too. The service in the restaurant wasn't as friendly as what we usually experience, but that was a minor detail.
The only reason I gave my trip four stars this time, instead of five, is that after I left I realized I left something in my room. When I called to report it two hours later, they said that there was already somebody in the room and they wouldn't ask him if he found it because "that would imply that they didn't clean the room well." And then, the guy I spoke to was rude and frankly wasn't truthful in all that he said. When I called him on it (because he was clearly making things up), he was speechless. In the end, housekeeping contacted me the next day when they found my item. They were lovely, and they shipped it to me immediately. So it all turned out well, but I was really aggravated with the way the manager handled the situation.
We will still return because we overall enjoy our stays there. I will just be very careful not to leave anything behind and to avoid the one person who was so unhelpful.

Unfortunately, the rooms, which are nicely updated, have an overpowering smell of mildew and the air conditioning doesn’t seem to cool very well. It is a very dark hotel with a country club vibe. We switched rooms one time, however, it still smelled. Not a great night of sleep! Being Titanium Elite members we were offered $3 off breakfast...didn’t seem right. The night staff wasn’t very friendly at check-in, a little friendlier once we needed to move rooms. The morning check out guy wasn’t friendly either. The rooms and hotel seemed very clean and tidy. Never tried the food. Could be much better...please fix the ventilation system.

I travel monthly to Princeton for work. I figured it would be a good idea to get to know the more convenient “recommended” hotels and this one is by far my favorite. Sure the Hyatt in Carnegie Center has a beautiful lobby, it also overbooks their rooms, has uncomfortable beds and pillows, horrible views and staff who could care less. Princeton Marriott at Forrestal is known of those things. Rooms are cozy and comfortable and you get what you book. The views are lovely and have a secluded vibe. Could not recommend this one more. At this point I’ve tried all at least once and this one is my favorite!!

Hello Viatorem2020, thank you for your question. During normal times, we had a complimentary shuttle service that could take you to the local train station, Downtown Princeton, or anywhere within a 5-mile radius of the hotel. However, in response to the current unusual times, we have halted our shuttle service. There is no definitive date for when shuttle service will be restored.
Hello Susan T, thank you for your question. During normal times, we have offered valet service to our guests. Unfortunately, during these unusual times, valet service has been halted. Parking in our guest lot is free of charge. Should you need any special accommodations, please feel free to contact the hotel at 609-452-7800.
Hi PsyDGrl, thank you for your question. Our MClub is currently still closed. We hope to have it open within the coming months. Please feel free to check with us again soon.
Dear Hellowhereiscoffee,
Thank you for asking a question about the bug that was found in the room by a traveler in March of 2019. Although it was a stink bug we did have the room inspected by a professional company and the room was found to be clear of all bugs. We appreciate your concern and we are happy to help clarify this question for you.
