Its a very nice place!
Worth the money!
Kitchen has utensils to do basic things like a coffee.
Grill area is pretty nice & includes utensils & bending machines.
The 4th floor has a nice balcony for everyone to enjoy.
I really liked it & the price.
The only bad thing was we had an issue were I asked if they had any bed bugs in which they said absolutely not & I actually slept like a princess no bites. Even though some sheets were a bit stained. But I thought it wouldn’t hurt to ask, I was wrong.
Next morning, my daughter went in pool & owner kicked her out like an animal,m. So sad. But its good God bless everyone.

Our combined family of 2 grandparents, 2 parents and 2 girls just spent a week at the Matador Resort. It was an excellent visit with Matador from the preplanning to our exit. The stay itself was a total pleasure. We stayed in unit 416 sleeping 6 with 2 bathrooms. Everything was updated and clean with plenty of room for all of us. The front office was very friendly, professional and helpful. Every request was taken care of very well. The location is perfect -right at the beach and boardwalk. Even at approximately $400/night, we learned it was a good value. We will stay at the Matador again on our next visit and recommend it highly.

If you have any concerns regarding Covid, we wouldn’t advise a stay here. They took no precautions as promised on the website. A used mask floated in the pool so we couldn’t use the pool at all during the stay. Housekeeping dropped all the clean towels off the cart on the dirty concrete and put them right back on the cart and into rooms. Disgusting. I said please don’t put them in our room. But they did. She didn’t speak English and didn’t seem to care about germs or dirt from the ground. Pool was way overcrowded at times. The woman in the office had no mask on when I walked in. And several of the women working there were so unfriendly. Robert, however, was a pleasure. If he ran the place, it would have a different atmosphere. He was friendly and helpful. But the women in the office were so unfriendly that none of us will return and the issue with bath towels is beyond disgusting any time but during a pandemic, it’s just beyond unacceptable. I tried going to the office for new towels but nobody was at the desk. Beach was absolutely packed like sardines in that area also. Zero concerns for Covid. We regret going there. During non-Covid times, its probably fine but they shouldn’t promise to take proper precautions if they aren’t following through with them.

Dear Guest, We apologize if your experience wasn't acceptable to your standards. Please note that only used linens are put on the ground for our housekeeping to disregard. All new linens are given to customers in a plastic bag. The property chairs, elevators and all necessary touch points are disinfected each day with a CDC compliant chemical twice per day. All rooms are sprayed after check out with a CDC compliant chemical as well. You failed to mention that our front office has a huge piece of clear plexi glass to separate my staff and the customers. Our front desk is staffed from 8 am to 3 am 7 days per week.

The room was clean. However, when I booked I paid quite a bit extra for an ocean view room, as we were only going away for one night due to Covid. When our room was ready I was surprised and thought they must have given us the incorrect room. We went down to the desk to ask and the woman behind the desk was incredibly rude and told us that we were in an ocean view room. We could see the ocean.. if we walked out and used someone else’s balcony. I’ve attached a photo of right outside on our balcony for reference. We won’t be staying here again.

Becky, first and foremost, I want to apologize if you weren't greeted with our signature warmth and hospitality. Confusion aside, this is something we strive to keep consistent for our guests. We do label all ocean-facing rooms as "ocean view," and I'm truly sorry this wasn't made more clear to you. I wish we'd been able to better accommodate your preference. If you find yourself out our way again in the future, we'd love to the opportunity to welcome you back and make up for this lackluster experience. All the best, Rob D., General Manager

I chose this hotel because they had a 2 page list of things they were doing for covid precautions which miraculously disappeared from their site after my complaints.
I got there and the lady at the desk didn't have on a mask but did have a barrier at the desk. None of the guest were either, except for myself. I walked in and wiped everything down with wipes but it was gross. Floor has stuff all over it, blood on the sheet, hair on the clean towel, hair in the tub and ants everywhere. Now ants, it happens. They're awful to get rid of but it was quite a few. I called down and I asked for a refund. They said they would move me and I said ok but I still may want a refund because this was not covid clean in my opinion! This was room 415.
The second room was 401. It was a much upgraded room which was nice of them. But upon inspection, there was hair at the pillow line of the bed which, come on! Then looked in the bathroom and there was hair on the wall and on the floor of the shower. People who are trying to be really cautious of covid cannot take chances like this. Some have cancer, lung problems, immune issues and I am one of them. I left because I couldn't take the chances. I emailed them the next day with photos and said because it was such an egregious error on their part, I would like a refund of some sort. Even partial. They ignored the email. The site I booked through tried to get me a refund and they refused. Now I am dealing with the credit card company helping me. With all of the reviews saying how clean it was, maybe I just got them on a bad day. But ignoring me is not the way to handle their error. And refusing any sort of refund is unreal. Yes, they have a no refund policy but they falsely advertised and I lost $350 because of their error. I drove 3 hours each way to get there and then back home that day. Just really disappointed and was really sad I lost out on my little trip.

Dear Anonymous person, Our entire property is sprayed daily with a CDC complaint chemical and after each check out we use a fogging machine that completely sanitizes the entire unit. Our front office has a huge sneeze guard and only two people are allowed in our office. We understand that you were not satisfied with the first unit and you moved to a second unit. However, you failed to mention that you check out early without any explanation to our staff. Pictures were then sent to our attention after the fact. If there was a problem we need to know immediately. The pictures were not taken from our unit and we look at this as an attempt to extort money from our family business.

I haven’t stayed at the Matador for a few years. We always stay in room type 7 which are the efficiency units facing the.beach. The beds are not comfortable and the room is old and needs updating but that is what I expect and the small price to pay for the incredible location. My complaint this time was a broken cooktop burner, clogged bathroom sink, near zero shower water pressure. My last day the A/C started leaking and shutoff completely.

It's right off the beach and the boardwalk. You can sit on the deck with great view of the beach and ocean. You get to see a great sun rise. Our room and the whole place is very clean. The staff is very friendly helpful.

Stayed last year in a double suite and we loved it so much we couldn't wait to come back this year!
Upon booking for this year we were told there were no double suites available but the suite with just a king bed would be the same exact size with only one bed, so we thought wed suck it up and give it a shot. Unfortunately upon arrival we showed up to a room that was less than 1/2 the size as last year, horribly outdated, and with incredibly thin walls. Our 4 year old son couldn't even fall asleep for 2 nights due to the fact that we could hear everything from the adjoining room. Tried three times switching, upgrading, canceling rooms but to no avail due to there being no vacancy. We felt like we were tricked into staying in such a small room and now my family and I are paying the consequences for 4 nights. The room was so small and outdated that my family and I would rather end our vacation early than stay another night in a dirty cubbyhole that hasn’t been updated since the 80s.

Yes, you can control the AC in your unit.
There is a jitney than runs on the boardwalk. Nothing I know runs to different attractions except the jitney.
We stayed over Father's Day weekend when it was completely full and really didn't hear anyone but I do not believe it is specifically sounds proof. As Denice E wrote, you are not near the attractions on the boardwalk so you don't hear that. At night on the 4th floor deck we would hear the surf.
Yes there’s an elevator. I suggest the third floor for a better view. The beach is wide and the ocean is actually a distance from the hotel.
The arcades 4 blocks away.
