The Hyatt Regency New Brunswick garners appreciation from guests for its cleanliness and chic renovations, particularly the modern bathrooms. While many travelers enjoy the central location near dining and transit, some have concerns regarding noise. The hotel's service receives mixed reviews, with some guests encountering issues with responsiveness.
Room experiences vary, with praise for modernity but critiques on temperature and noise. Additional amenities, including safety features, are well-received, although some guests report problems with water flow and Wi-Fi. Parking fees, however, are a common point of contention impacting the perceived value of stays.

Detailed Reviews
Upon arrival, I was very impressed with the service. The valet took care of our vehicle right away and we had no issues checking in. We signed up for the free hotel shuttle service to/from the hotel/Rutgers, which was on time and friendly. The lobby is very spacious and restaurant was adequate. The breakfast buffet in the morning was nicely displayed and tasty, albeit a bit pricey (averaged $50.00 for two people including tip/tax). The only down side really was the room itself. Very boring decor, lots of street noise and dated furnishings. Only one painting on one wall which made our stay a bit cold and stark/boring. The toilet seat was cheap and not sturdy. If they would just update the rooms with cheery and/or warm decor, it would be a huge improvement since the stay was over $580.00 for a 2-night stay (includes parking fees). But overall, very adequate hotel for New Brunswick and will stay again.

This "fancy" hotel provides easy access to NYC and Newark Airport while keeping you a bit on the outskirts. The lobby is impressive and modern. The standard room is unique in that there is a large shower with a rain head plus hand-held wand. However, you will pay extra for a fridge, so request one ahead of time if you will need one. Self-parking will run you an extra $25 in the covered garage. The indoor pool and hot tub are rather large. The fitness room has a good variety of machines. I think this would be a nice hotel in which to hold a conference or wedding.

Hotel used as convenient for work. Check in was quick and pleasant. Room on the top floor faced the road and you could hear road noise at certain times of the day, not massively intrusive but sometimes you just tuned into it. Hotel has its own convention centre and was often busy, that could lead to longer waits in the bar for food, I preferred to eat in room, but the room service charge was steep. The gym was ok, good equipment and quiet, fresh towels available. Can’t say much more about the hotel, it was simply a bedroom for work.

The Hyatt Regency NB was easy to get to, a plus for folks like me who struggle a lot driving to a new place. The building is well kept inside and out. My room was clean and comfy. We stayed for a dance convention, and the ballrooms accommodated the stage and large classes well.
Breakfast buffet at $21 seemed pricey to me, but I did not get to try it out due to the early start of convention programming. Will be back for another event in October and hope to give that a try.
The only thing I remember bugging me during this stay was what sounded like some kind of machinery humming in the wall behind my bed. everyone was exhausted enough that we slept anyway but when I did wake up I found it rather irritating. Since it was a quick stay, I did not bother bringing this to the attention of the front desk.

This property was comfortable and convenient. Its situated along the side of the highway so leaving was a cinch. The lobby is spacious, vaulted, and nicely decorated. My room was pretty big, but I wish the lighting was a bit brighter. The soap and shampoo was Neutrogena which was a real treat compared to the generic bath products many other hotels provide.
The bed was comfortable with 4 pillows. I definitely had a good nights rest.
My only issue with the area is that the parking is extremely limited so finding a place to park besides paid parking was a chore. If I recall correctly the prices were 1hr/$3, 1-3hr/$10, and overnight/$25.

+1
I had made a reservation 3 weeks in advance for two of the Deluxe Suite rooms, the only rooms that can accomodate 5 people each (their 2 bed rooms accomodate 4). The morning I am due to check in, I check the Hyatt app and to my shock, both rooms have been changed overnight to standard 2 bed rooms. I call World of Hyatt at 7:30 AM to confirm I still have the Deluxe Suites I booked and they confirmed that is also what they are showing. The hotel did not answer their phone or texts (through the app). I called around 9:30 AM and spoke to Terry and was told that "I will get what I paid for" and that all suites including deluxe suites were booked. I got a complimentary downgrade. I thanked her and called World of Hyatt. World of Hyatt contacted the hotel and then told me that the hotel would investigate and get back to me in an hour. After not hearing for them for a few hours, I called them around 12:30. After being on hold for about 20 minutes, Adnan picked up. Adnan had said the rate I paid was a mistake and was able to fix one room back to a Deluxe and was given an executive suite instead of the Deluxe. Adnan tried his best. What was bothersome was that no one contacted me about the downgrade beforehand and also that I was initially told I should just accept it (when I called at 9:30 AM).
When I got there, things were not much better. At check-in on Friday night, the manager didnt give me any information about the hotel, asked if I needed parking or about the water bottles as a World of Hyatt member. I had to drag these out if him. The stay wasnt much better. The room was missing a fridge. Any requests through text (using the app) were mostly ignored until after I called down a few hours later. I'd get updates all of the sudden, I'd get a text response shortly after calling. The exception was that Javier responded a few times, he was very helpful.
When they did bring towels, it was always less than what I had asked for.
The rooms themselves looked worn but were spacious. The smells from neighboring rooms carry through the vents.
What was astonishing to me was that on Saturday night, there were 25 people in the pool/hottub area at 10:30 PM and there were no towels. The manager (with the security earpiece) walked by several times but never refilled them and didn't let anyone know to refill them. If you see a wet floor there at night, its because the pool towels are always empty.
It seems that there are a few bad apples here that are ruining this place. For what they charge, I wouldn't recommend staying here until they improve.

There were no glasses or mugs available in the room to drink tapwater from. There was no complementary water bottle. There was no roomservice and the hotel was not willing to bring up water or cups. The only way to drink water was to go downstairs and pay $4 for a 12oz bottle of water.
I thought i'd save a buck or two and got the "breakfast included" deal for a 35$ upcharge but little did I know I had to pick from an a la carte menu and was allowed one entree from a list of items all well under $20 so this deal lost me money. I had to pick my up the food from the lobby and eat it in my room. It took well over 30 minutes to prepare my food. The "restaurant" didn't allow ordering food until 8 am and I was almost late for my work meeting. The food itself was terrible: it was an omelet with a piece of toast that looked like the food at Fyre festival and tasted worse than breakfast in United economy class. It probably did not help that it was served in styrofoam with plastic utensils. Lastly, they made a mistake in my order. I ordered fresh "grapefruit" juice but instead got two cans of "grape" juice from concentrate. When I asked about this, I was told that this was all that they had.
Under no circumstances can I recommend this hotel. I probably would have been better off at the motel 6.

I'm so sorry to hear about the experience that you had while staying with us, clearly this is not our intention. Unfortunately our hotel restaurant has not opened since our reopening. Several years ago Hyatt Corporation has transitioned to Eco Friendly to go containers, we no longer supply any type of Styrofoam in the hotel in the hopes of decreasing our carbon footprint. We do offer complimentary water to our Elite level World Of Hyatt Guests, so I apologize that perhaps this was not communicated appropriately. Our staff is limiting contact to ensure both their and your safety, and unfortunately this is something that we are dealing with currently.

The room service was bad, limited options for breakfast and delivered in a brown shopping bag. The shower did not work and the shower button actually came off in my hand. The fan was too noisy at night and I had to turn it off. They now charge $25 for overnight parking. This fee was always waived in the past when I stayed overnight for a business seminar.

Beds were hard and pillows were rocks. Restaurants around town had seated dining but restaurant in hotel was closed. Empty parking lot next to hotel was roped off and we were forced to pay expensive fees to park overnight in the parking structure. Just didn't make sense and truly reflect the city they were in. If the city is open then they should be too. And f they're not busy then help customers save money and allow them to park in parking lot. And if the hotel isn't busy then split the m up in the hotel so you don't have to hear them through the walls.

Was expecting much better service and addressing of issues that arose during our stay. Had temp control issues and no one came when asked for help. Had 3 cold nights and Days when trying to get ready for multiple wedding functions. Staff appeared stressed out and slightly short tempered when asking questions or for something as simple as extra towels.

Yes, they have in room coffee maker and also tea.
If you are driving, there is a really nice liquor store on Easton Ave in Somerset with a terrific selection of wines -- Bottle Republic, just south of 287. If not, you might want to treat yourself to drinks are Steakhouse 85 on Church Street. They have a$99 prix fixe menu on Fridays which includes dinner for 2 and a bottle of wine.
