Oh, how clean and spacious room! Everything was just as it should be. Breakfast would have been a great bonus but they didn't served that. Lots of free parking and many grocery stores nearby. The stuff was friendly.

The main items that I look for in a hotel are comfort and cleanliness. This hotel met and exceeded both of those requirements.
We only stayed overnight, arriving late and leaving early in the morning. We did not use any amenities including the TV or internet, so I cannot comment on those aspects of the facility.
The carpet is the room was stained in a couple of spots, but overall looked clean and recently vacuumed. A piece of molding along the wall near a corner was held with Duck tape.
The room itself was very clean, even in places like the metal framing on the light shades where dust would accumulate. The cleaning staff appears to do a great job.
The staff that I interacted with during check-in & Check out were professional and courteous.
There is a club / bar in the complex and an entertainment / arcade right next to the hotel. It is minutes away from Long Beach Island.
If you are looking for Comfort and cleanliness, you cannot go wrong staying here.

Nice staff, nice hotel, very nice facilities and quality of room, lobby, entertainment, location.

A few downsides - our room was not cleaned super well-- found crumbs and food stains on desk. Hair in shower.

Also no cleaning staff were wearing masks and some of the reception staff were not wearing masks either....

We were in Manahawkin for a wedding and the Holiday Inn was on the recommended places to stay. Happy we did. When I made the reservation I indicated that I had allergies and would prefer a room without carpeting. On the morning of my arrival that front desk called to apologize that they did not have any room without carpets but were going to pay extra attention to vacuuming and cleaning the room.
At check in we were greeted warmly and the room, hallway, all common areas were spotless. I’m a clean freak so please believe me when I say this is one of the cleanest properties I have ever stayed in. I usually stay in five star Leading Hotels of the World and I can honestly say the level of clean here is on par with or even better than those properties.
The amenities are three star but that’s reflected in the price you pay. I wish the table service restaurant on the property was open for breakfast and/or room service but that would be my only suggestion for improvement.

Been staying at this hotel at least 10 times a year for the past 15 years even before it became a resort. The hotel is beautiful but this year they have some serious management issues. Specifically, Heather the front desk manager is so difficult that I have to spend a lot of my time working around her.
She never asks your room preference at check in. She assigns the room and if you ask for a higher floor or a room facing the lake she says there are none available even though she doesn't bother to look. So I have to wait until she is off duty and ask front desk for a room change. Low and behold the room location I requested is available and the change is made. This happened at least twice and one other time when I needed adjoining rooms.
Also they stopped giving out the Holiday Inn kids eat free coupons because of covid. Not sure what that has to do with covid but that's the excuse I was given.
Can't wait for the return of Charlie at the front desk; he is desperately needed!!!

Hello 213johnd! We're all about making our guests happy with our accommodations and assistance. Thank you so much for bringing your concerns to our attention and for your stay in our hotel. I'm sorry to hear that our staff service fell short of your gauge. We're all about meeting our guests' expectations. I'm concerned that you were disappointed with the unavailability of the kids eat free coupons. I admire you taking the time to let your thoughts be known, so I relayed your feedback to the management team. Please trust that your comments will continuously inspire us to enhance all service levels and amenities. Thank you for the high score you gave for our rooms. Though we missed the chance to make your stay perfect, I'm still hoping that you'd reconsider us so we can tie the ropes and give you the joy of travel. Stay safe, Leni C. Case Manager IHGService

We traveled to Manahawkin for a family memorial in April of 2023 and could not believe the facilities here!! There is an extensive ropes course on property as well as free standing arcade with an amazing selection of games. The onsite bar and restaurant are popular with locals and packed on the weekend. Two fire pits outside make for an enjoyable outdoor lounge experience and plenty of room for kids to run around and play outside. That said, the pool is quite small and has only two chairs by it but it is indoors and has a hot tub alongside. The rooms (we stayed in two different ones) are comfortable and clean although the curtains in both rooms were broken to the point they would not close completely. The beds were variable; our two Queen bed room had softer and more comfortable than the much firmer King bed in our second room.

If you wonder why we stayed in two different rooms for a two night stay well, so did we. There was a bit of a concern in that we had two separate reservations, one made with points and one made with cash. When we checked in our first night was changed to a two Queen bed instead of a King and pullout couch. We had our five year old and a real bed sounded nicer for her. Unfortunately the second night of the stay was not changed so we were surprised to learn as we left for a funeral that we had to move rooms, which made us an hour late for same. This took some effort to actually locate a manager to discuss with, and no one south of a. manager would do so much as tell me when a manager would be available ("Maybe Monday" was the most specific I got). Once I located said manager the problem was resolved in less than five minutes.

Would have been five stars for the facility. Some more experienced staff on the weekends and/or a manager available would have kept it at five.

I'd return on another stay but after the conversations I had in pursuit of satisfaction they might not have me.

This was our 3rd or 4th family visit - I do notice that the property continues to do improvements. Room was clean & quiet & had no issues other than the breakfast vouchers that came thru booking at Hotels.com had to be used at the small gift/snack shop. What we really like about this property is that it is convenient to food, shops and trekking onto LBI. It seems to be gradually positioning itself as a young people's resort - with the restaurant turning into a bar and an adjacent zipline/car track. Sadly, I might be 'aging out' of this resort going forward...but the kids and I have had a number of great stays!

We just stayed here the weekend of 1/18-19. This hotel is nice and clean. It has a restaurant/bar which is a very hip night club at night called the MainLand. I did have some drinks here on Saturday night another was a guy playing guitar and was getting the crowd into it. The hotel also has a very extensive activity list from a rope walk trail, go carts, indoor pool, etc... We stayed in a king room which was very nice and comfy. The front desk staff was very nice. This hotel does also do weddings and other events. It is about 2 miles from LBI. the only downside we had was that the hallway got noisy due to kids running around.

A friend of mine and I stayed for 1 night as we were meeting up with some friends on the island for a reunion. The room was clean and the hotel has very nice amenities.. My only gripe is with customer service. I asked to have my final bill emailed to me following check- out. 24 hours later I had still not received my final bill, so I called the hotel. Its obvious that these calls are sent to a customer service call center outside of the US. I spent a good 20-30 minutes on the phone trying to explain that I hadn't received my bill and needed it emailed to me. After several transfers and being placed on hold several times, the bill was finally emailed. I admit that it's not the fault of this specific location but more of a problem with their corporate office..companies try to outsource the work to cheaper labor but frustrate their customers in the meantime. During the call, I was also asked several times if they could help me with another reservation or talk to me about a vacation club. My answer was a resounding NO!!! Leadership apparently doesn't care to understand their company's customers and what's important to them. It doesnt take a rocket scientist to figure out that its not the time to sell something to the customer when they're already frustrated.

We booked a wedding here at Mainland for our daughter for Jan 11th 2020 and from the minute we 1st started working with their sales team (Donna & Jessica), everything went better than we could've expected! We arrived a day prior to the wedding date and the staff had already made sure that our rooms (9 of them) were ready earlier than check-in! The front desk personnel, Heather & Jill made our 2 1/2 day stay as comfortable as if we were at home. Rooms were extremely clean, beds were more than comfortable and the whole stay was more than impressive! Big shout out to Kim, our event manager who kept the wedding flowing and on time, as well as made my daughter's event more than memorable for all of us. I have to hand it to the staff, there wasn't 1 that didn't greet us, from the front desk to the room attendants. This is in my eyes all because of their GM and assistant GM, Melissa. They have made their staff into a well oiled and friendly team; there were no individuals here - all team work which made OUR dream work!!!
If you have an event, do not hesitate to really consider this wonderful location. It will be more than you can ever expect from a Holiday Inn!
