Detailed Reviews
This hotel's main attributes are that it's cheap and a good location on one of North Jersey's main roads and only a few minutes off the NYS Thruway, though this does make for constant traffic noise. Rooms are clean. Service has been solid when I needed it. The main issue is that the beds are terrible. I've stayed here several times and sometimes the beds have no springs left and others are rock hard. This is a major downside when sleeping is the main amenity it offers.

This hotel is generally as you’d expect for a mid-range chain. The rooms were clean and generally nicely appointed.
The big drawback was the WiFi. I stayed two nights and on the second , a Sunday , streaming a movie was almost useless. I wish I’d brought my T-Mobile hotspot.
Please fix this issue for the future. It’s no longer a luxury.

Pillows are hard, bed isn't very comfy, hallways smell strongly of cigarettes, had a roach in the bathroom, no microwave or fridge in the room. Was mentioned king bedrooms do have those amenities though, but I don't remember seeing if that was listed online, my bad if it was. Internet seems slow enough to the point that I somewhat regret choosing this hotel just because it will probably impact my ability to work which I was not anticipating, that with the lack of fridge and microwave makes it difficult for someone trying to get work done for the week.
Shower was great, outlets are fine, plenty of parking, has been quiet. Good location, < 20 minute walk to the mahwah train station.
I honestly think there is a lot of potential to improve this place and make it more worthy of guests. As it is though, it was the cheapest option I found in the area for a week's stay and I'm expecting the rest of my stay will be fine. Normally I'd give 1 star the second I see a roach, but at least it was a little one...
House keeping does a good job and the place was clean, despite the roach sighting. 3 star rating is based off of it being a place I didn't expect much from. It was easily a 2 star rating, but bumped up a bit for nice staff and good location for me.

I have never taken the time to review anything before, but since they asked for honesty...
There is no building security, since the back door of the building is never locked. Both side doors are inoperable from the outside; the keycard doesn't unlock them.
The rooms smell bad, most likely due to a lack of cleanliness or sanitation. When I requested that my bed be made and bathroom tidied up, I was told, "They'll change out your towels and straighten up the bathroom, but they won't make the bed. The best I can do is have them leave a set of clean sheets and you can make the bed." This is what you call maid service?
The wifi is so weak, even the television cuts out and loses the show you're watching repeatedly. It's almost impossible to use the internet on any type of personal device.
I can say, without hesitation, that I will NEVER stay at any Wyndham hotels in the future; this was my first and last experience with this hotel chain.
Next time, Holiday Inn Express even if it is a few dollars more.

We arrived to a dirty room. I moved the night stand to get to the plug to charge my phone. There was garbage and dust balls behind the night stand. The dresser had a broken hanging drawer. The floors were fake worn out wood and sticky. Our feet stuck to the floor. The hallway had foam peanut packing shells on the rug, someone spilled a sticky drink in the elevator. Initially we were standing in the liquid, then it was cleaned up and we just stuck to the elevator floor. Complimentary breakfast is a big fat joke. The food is directly across from a coin operated washer and dryer. Choices were your basic convenient store bagged muffins, coffee ran out and wasn't replenished. You get charged for a safe and told you will be reimbursed, but of course you aren't. Front counter clerks could use a lesson in manners and cutomer service, but don't blame them.... seems like no one ever introduced the concept to them. You get exactly what you paid for..... cheap room to sleep in on your journey.

The front desk lady (an African American) who was on duty during Friday night (9/9/22) was terrible in every way. First she charged me twice even though I repeatedly warned her to avoid doing so and then was reluctant to give me a receipt so please be careful next time when you see her. And also she was unfriendly and had very bad attitude towards customers. Felt like not only was she unwilling to help but also tended to make troubles for customers. Arrived at the hotel near midnight on 9/9 I felt starving and needed a spoon for my takeout and I noticed a container in the breakfast area marked as “spoon” so I asked her if she had any spoon/ fork and she simply said no and nothing in the premise but next early morning I saw the same container was filled up with white plastic spoons ! My room # is 325 and I promise everything said here is absolutely true!

First I get there and find out there is a fee for our dogs and we weren't told that in the beginning. The room had a horrible smell the entire time. The furniture was very old and stained and disgusting. The floors were peeling up, walls had gouges in them, the curtains were nasty, and the most disgusting part was black mold all over the wall in the bathroom behind the toilet. The breakfast was coffee or tea and juice, muffins and nature valley bars. I almost left the second day but is more work packing up everything and unpacking for only 3 days. Also when I checked in I was told they are the only hotel in Mahwah that accepts dogs which isn't true. The Hampton Inn by Hilton takes dogs and is just down the road. Also I called to see if they found my pillow I forgot and the lady that answered said they wont ship and I would have to send label. I told her that the place was not nice and she got very defensive and said "That's not true" and I told her to go look at the mold and she hung up on me. I told the staff when we were there too. Not good business!

Have stayed here multiple times because it’s the away team hotel for the team that is playing against New York Boulders (baseball) it seems to be getting worse every time , the room is a non smoking room but it smelt like weed and cigarettes mixed with moldy carpet .The flooring is gross just looking at it will make you wear shower sandals around your room , the wifi is terrible barely reached my room so if you’re travelling for business that’s a no go , used up a ton of data . There is a very good chance you will wake up with a sore throat and a stuffy nose , probably because of the mold and mildew everywhere , one of my colleagues who stayed on the first floor had ants in his room , and one also had bed bug bites , if you have to stay here like we do check your bed before you sleep

Not sure id ever stay there again. For such high rates to provide nothing other than a moldy smelling room with a shower that looks like it was hooked up in the 60's. Honestly i felt dirty just using the shower.

The room service workers are rude, unprofessional and lazy! They never changed my sheets or blankets and when I asked why it wasn’t changed her response was “I didn’t know you wanted it to be changed” totally disgusting! They never took the garbage out or gave me new garbage bags or even gave me new towels. I still had the dirty towels I used. They were going through my stuff when I wasn’t there and left a mess in the room. And they have roaches. Breakfast is not that great. The rooms were dirty when I first went and I’m thinking if they left the same sheets and blankets from the people that were there before me since they never changed my sheets or blankets while I was there.
