Stayed last weekend while doing a training. Place is spotless, rooms are roomy, nice, with all the amenities you need. Unfortunately, due to COVID, there's no buffet breakfast, but the coffee/tea, etc. is plentiful and very good. Staff is cleaning constantly. they are very pleasant and polite. I would suggest staying in one of the rooms towards the back, where I was. Even though its on a busy road, it was very quiet. It is central to stores, etc and has a gas station, convenience deli right next door. I was so happy with my stay that I booked this current weekend for the second week of training, but unfortunately had to cancel as the training was postponed due to COVID. I called, my cancellation was processed immediately and I received an email confirmation shortly thereafter. I would highly recommend this hotel!

This is an extremely nice hotel with large rooms. There no amenities, but you get what you pay for. The breakfast was good and never crowded. There is a convenience store adjacent to the property, so you can get bottled water or whatever you need close by. The rooms are very clean. I would suggest you get a room on the top floor. We had kids in the room above us and they sounded like Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom. I don't mind some noise, but not for HOURS on end. I complained to the front desk to no avail. Also check your doors, the doors do not latch closed when you leave. You have to PULL them closed. Housekeeping left our room open twice, who needs a key?? This was also reported to the front desk. Everytime I left or returned, there was a different individual at the front desk, so I know nothing was conveyed to the next person.

My family and I were on vacation in August 2018 and we picked this hotel for its close proximity to New York City! The hotel was about 1 hour and 10 minutes away from NYC. When we arrived on a Saturday night, we were greeted by Josh, who gave us excellent service. We had a room on the 3rd floor and everything was great. In the room, the bathroom was spotless, and the beds were comfortable. There was a nice arrangement of foods offered during breakfast, such as eggs, bacon, sausage, yogurts, bagels, and muffins. There was coffee, water, and different varieties of juice to drink. And, it was enjoyable to read the FREE USA Today newspaper, which was there everyday! We had a great stay!

P.S. If you need gas before you leave, there is a Pilot Travel Center right next door! It is literally within walking distance!

Oct 29 Saturday we got the freak snow storm in Bergen County NJ no power and then big tree brought down power, phone and cable lines to my house. It's time to go to the hotel and Comfort Suites was the only one available at this time. First night in - we were asking to book the only available room for 2 nights with the option to cancel second night but we were told by the gentleman on the front desk we will not get a refund. This why we were booking one night at at time. All the time when we were extending our stay we were asking for either AARP or AAA rate which is proudly displayed on corporate website but again we were told that manager is not allowed to use these rates. On the morning of 10/31 I asked gentleman on the front desk to give us discount he said no and quoted the same rate as on prior night $139.99 + tax, but out shear surprise next morning during check out we discovered that the rate was changed to $159.99 + tax. As far as parking goes - on the second night lady on the frontdesk told us "she doesn't care" - park at any place (nothing about having the guest park in the next door lot???). One of the worst experiences was on the night of 10/31 at 7:00 PM being told "by the way you have to check out tomorrow your room is already booked"?!!!!!). We have to scramble to look for the room all over Mahwah, Ramsey and Paramus. What a way to treat the customers and senior citizens. The Hotel is on Route 17 you can hear the noise from it also getting in and out is not for the faint of heart. In the mornig one person is handling check out and breakfast which was nothing special.

Think Embassy Suites- brand new- under $100.

You can go to NYC back and forth- and stay here!

This is the NICEST hotel I have ever stayed in. It is QUIET, CLEAN and the staff are wonderful.

They are within walking distance of the Mahwah train stop- just .25 mile directly to the east.

They are also going to be getting a free shuttle to and from the Mahwah train station. Just call them when you arrive at the train station. (201) 512-3800

So, for $10, you can get to and from the Penn Station NYC, (transfer in Secoucus) on the LIRR and stay HERE- and here is what you get:

1.) LARGE rooms, with down comforters.
2.) Plasma screen TV's.
3.) FREE wifi
4.) FREE large, brekaftast. hot waffles. . . donuts- and you can eat in the living room area, with its own warm fireplace!
5.) FREE parking
6.) Each room has a living room area, with a pull out sofa bed.
7.) Work out room, with plasma, weights, exercise bikes.
8.) Conference room
9.) In room desk, table, lamps.
10.) Fluffy, clean white towels.
11.) Endless hot water.
12.) In room large fridge, and Microwave
12.) Family friendly- and SO CLEAN.

TIP: There is a lovely high school track right in back of the hotel. Walk out the back door, go to the right side. and hop around the white fence, and you can walk up the small rise to the track.

HOW TO WALK THERE FROM MAHWAH TRAIN STATION:

When walking from the train station- from NYC, you'll arrive on eastern tracks. Exit in the town commons, (Nice deli there BTW) and hang a right, UNDER the tracks. Then walk straight, towards the school. At the corner of the Montessori school, cross the road, and stay left. Come over the freeway bridge, on the sidewalk, (STAY ON LEFT SIDE) then go to the back of the hotel. There is a small white fence- walk up to the fence, facing the hotel, and walk to the left- at the end corner, you can walk around, and you are in the hotel parking area, and can walk to the main entrance on your right. (See my Google Earth photo attched)

Enjoy this hotel- and treat it like home. . . it sure feels like it.

Good hotel - comfy beds, clean rooms, minimal yet adequate breakfast, big rooms. But if you’re coming from the south, Google takes you to a back (service) entrance that is locked. You have to circle around and get on 17 southbound for literally 50 feet to get to the actual and only entrance.

The restaurant next door has live cover bands (not particularly good ones) apparently every Friday and Saturday night doing live concerts outdoors mere feet away in the adjacent parking lot. If there is a chance that you’ll be in the room from 8pm to midnight, avoid at all costs.

Pilot Travel Centre next door very convenient for snacks. Breakfast basic but included yogurt & waffle maker which was nice. The fried eggs were a little odd (perfectly round pre-pared?). Ample seating and not crowded. Good value for the price. As mentioned by other reviewer, Google maps will direct you to rear entrance which is not accessible. If travelling northbound you do need to follow those directions somewhat to get yourself turned around as entrance is on Route 17 and you must be travelling south to make your right turn into the hotel. As with the whole strip in this area, it is a busy highway so use caution when turning off and getting back on.

We booked this hotel for a Saturday night a couple of weeks ago. Check in about 10pm was quick and easy
A problem with the tv was quickly settled by the desk clerk making a quick trip to our room to take care of it.
The room was roomy and comfortable. I like the nightlight on the tv.
Our room was one of just a few that faced busy route 17, whose traffic could be plainly heard from the room when the air conditioning was not on. Not a problem for me, background noises put me to sleep.
Bathroom ok, but not having a tub mat made it difficult for me to shower, since I do have a balance problem. Was very surprised there was not one there.
Buffet breakfast the usual hotel fare, I can always find enough to eat as long as there is coffee, juice and some kind of roll. Love the waffle maker, but it is always taken over by kids in the room. Was disappointed that the tables were not being wiped down. I had to discard someone's empties and wipe the table myself.
Price for me was high, but I suppose what these places get this time of year and on a Saturday.
I would stay again, and would recommend it to friends.

We stayed here one night, and we were satisfied with the accommodations. The room was clean and well appointed. The beds were fairly comfortable. The breakfast was decent with eggs and sausage offered. We would stay here again if in the area.
