This is a great boutique hotel. Large comfortable room. Attentive staff, easy parking and perfect location. We have stayed here several times in the past several years in the winter for a quick weekend getaway to see shows at the stone Pony in Asbury Park. A short walk to the beach and multiple shops, restaurants and bars. Great for families and small groups with competitive prices.

Large, clean rooms. nice high ceilings and fireplace. super comfy beds and linens. nice scent. slept great. helpful staff.
a few suggestions though. couch is too low. bathroom could use a few hooks to hang towels and wet suits etc. windows are screwed shut. What a shame. TV is old and no cable channels with movies. the wifi is spotty so an iPad wont help for watching movies unless you download them in advance. Shower could use a handheld spray or at least provide a shower cap. window curtains are great and room is flooded with daylight so the blackouts are welcome. But room lighting is otherwise insufficient at night.
great relaxing vacation though. I would def come back.

Stayed at the Bungalow for one night (Halloween) with three friends, all in our own rooms. I had a room on the fourth floor which was nice because I had an ocean view (from a distance) from one window. The room was really spacious and nice - bed was very comfortable. Since it is autumn, we didn't miss the fact that they have no pool (although during the summer, apparently the pool at the sister hotel Wave (walking distance) can be used. My only suggestion would be an ice machine on each floor (you have to walk to lobby for ice) and perhaps a microwave in the kitchenette. Also, instructions on how to use the lights since there is a master switch in the kitchenette which I had to find in a panic in the middle of the night as I thought I had lost electricity. We got a reasonable rate since it is off-season but like all hotels in the area, I believe the summer rates are really high. All in all, an excellent stay and I would recommend the hotel to others.

We spent four nights at this property and the stay really fell short. I would not recommend staying here. Firstly we were not made aware that the pool was a 2-1/2 block walk at a sister hotel. We had a few issues with our room that were not handled timely or properly. When we had our upstairs neighbor bouncing a basketball, the first front desk person called and asked them to stop. Later, when it happened again, a different front desk person said there was nothing they could do about it. This would have all been acceptable in a low end hotel where I was not being charged top dollar. In general the staff is amateur and it feels that management is lacking. I never like to write a negative review but felt it necessary to warn future guests.

Incredibly badly managed hotel. I was locked out of my room twice in the middle of the night due to a malfunctioning card key system. The first time was at 3:30 am when I went to my car to get something, and then it happened again at 6 am when I went for a morning walk after not being able to return to sleep (the desk clerk eventually let me into the room both times, but it took him three trips because even his global card key would not work and he had to use a physical key).

There is an OBVIOUS safety issue with a guest (particularly a woman traveling alone) being unable to quickly and safely enter her room whenever she needs to. It is OBVIOUSLY unacceptable for a room key to completely malfunction for several hours during the night and early morning. But when the manager, Alicia Guidetti, came to work at 7, I spoke with her about this. She comped my resort fee (a measly $37 - I don’t know what it’s for since there is no pool or even outdoor area on this property) but when I said I expected my room to be comped, she argued at length with me that I had “used the room” and therefore would not be refunded the price of the room. This is outrageous. A hotel has only one real job: to provide safe access to a secure room. Failing this is literally a liability, and arguing with me about it is unacceptable. I literally checked in yesterday afternoon and left at 7 am, did not sleep at all, and did not have access to my own room with a key that worked. Truly terrible hotel management.

Where do I start? First of all the design of the rooms are so strange. Why is there a bathroom open to the bedroom with a chandelier overhead with no lighting? Why are the rods for hanging in the closets so high? No one under 5'8" could possibly hang anything. Where are the luggage racks for placing the luggage so it's not on the floor? Was this hotel perhaps the final project for an architectural or interior design student?
The staff needs to be trained in HOSPTIALITY as that is the business. Telling a client that is playing $900+ a night that there's no decaf k cups because it's not in the budget??? Go down to CVS, buy a box for $10 and I bet they will last you for a month. How about making sure there are napkins out at breakfast in the morning and not giving out paper towels as a substitute. Giving out only two key cards per suite when it's a 2 bedroom?
The one car allowed for parking should be part of the resort fee and not separate.
The two things going for this hotel is the location and the ability to use the amenities at The Wave - the sister hotel down the boardwalk. That was amazing.
If you are going to charge top dollar - train the staff and rethink some of the policies.

Worst hotel experience I have ever had. First, the room smelled moldy; climate control equipment was so noisy and leaked water all over the room, and fans in the bathroom and toilet were just too loud that it caused a nuisance to our stay for a family of 3. The Heater did not work as you would think; we had to use the fireplace to heat the room, which would turn off every 30 minutes.

Secondly, fees, fees & fees that ultimately look like extortion. Resort fees and parking fees on top of what we paid for our stays. Let me not forget to mention that you technically do not receive anything unique or exciting for these fees. Trust me, I did my research and comparison. They say they serve breakfast, but it's downright mediocre. At breakfast time, there was no comfortable sitting to have the trashy breakfast offered, and they had us waiting for plates to dish the bagels, muffins, and juice they served.

Thirdly, why the hell is there a non-functional wine cooler/ beverage center in the room? Just put in a damn refrigerator. Not every guest needs these wine coolers, but a fridge could make a guest's stay outstanding. On top of that, the wine cooler/ beverage center made this loud, obnoxious sound when we tried to turn it on to cool our leftovers and water. You can't even stay in the room with the wine cooler/ beverage center on; talk more of sleeping in the room with it on.

Honestly, I can go on and on about my bad experience at this hotel, but I will hold back on other frustrating experiences. For example, weird loud elevator noises, charging my card before checking in, when my booking said to pay at check-in. The owners of this establishment should get some pros to renovate these buildings, facilities, and rooms. I guarantee if these continue, you will take up one day with no guests in sight. This location is one of the best; make great use of it.

Dear Pete, We appreciate you reaching out to share your thoughts regarding your family's recent stay at our property. While we're glad that you enjoyed our great location, we're very sorry to hear we were unable to meet your expectations and that you were disappointed with your experience. Please accept our apologies for any issues you encountered with the heating and cooling of the room, as well as noise disturbance from the extraction fan; we will address the concerns you raised with our maintenance team to ensure these are working efficiently. We are also actively using your and other guest feedback to educate our upcoming property-wide renovation this Winter, and have recently significantly expanded the offerings included in our property Resort Fee that we feel will be of great value to our guests. Your feedback is important and allows us to continually review guest satisfaction and where we could be doing better. Thank you for your valuable input. Overall it is a good boutique hotel. Clean, close to pier village and board walk, yet away from the hustle bustle. The housekeeping staff is exceptional, keeping the place and rooms very tidy. The front office staff could do better, slightly more helpful and smiling would help. Although everything at the Wave is complimentary, I found the Wave staff patronizing when you came from the Bungalow. That needs to change, on the day we booked I paid more for the Bungalow than the Wave. Anyway the one star less is for the breakfast. Rather remove breakfast ( bagels and coffee at best ) from the offering and charge a little lesser for the room, might have more people interested and wanting to return.

Great location. Huge room, wished I could open a window to feel that fresh ocean air. Weirdly they have "not got the budget to include decaf coffee". For $900 per night you would think they could afford decaf Keurig cups in the coffee maker in the room. I had to walk 2 blocks to Starbucks for a cup of decaf! The closet hanging rods are so high up I couldn't reach them. (I'm 5'2" ). There were no racks for the luggage. I found a spot in the living room to put my suitcase but I kept banging my head on the TV suspended on the wall so I finally put it on the sofa. The breakfast room was hardly that. It was 2 Victorian sofas and a bunch of stools. They told us there was yogurt but I had to ask for it to be put out. There were bagels and sweet rolls. The staff were very helpful. We really enjoyed being able to use the beach and pool facilities at the Wave hotel down the street about 3 blocks.

My wife and I were looking for a local not so local overnight getaway. We found the Bungalow online, read the reviews and decided to take a chance. We called the property before booking and they were extremely helpful. Checkin was quick and easy. The Lil Pipeline Room was extremely spacious Clean, well appointed, up to date and very impressive. The bed was very comfortable, the towels and Robes, yes , They supplied 2 Robes , were soft. The toiletries were top notch. The room featured two bathrooms, two large flat screen TV’s, a kitchenette, a private balcony, a large sunken soaking tub, a gas powered fireplace, and large living room areas with two sofas and large shower with great water pressure. Zero complaints ! Plenty of outlets to charge your electronics. Stay here in season or off season, you won’t be disappointed !
