Hotel's Favourite
Ignore every negative review that was posted before March 2024. This hotel has redeemed itself. I never stayed here before and with all the negative feedback I was very skeptical.
However I thought I would give it a try being I was going to be in the area. I am glad to say I was gently and elegantly surprised. The decor is first class with a modern twist and a touch of quality furniture. I could tell a lot of thought went into the design. It is spectacular!
Very impressive. If you are in the area and you need a place to stay this is the place. It is very comfortable, the rooms are spacious and clean. The carpet in the hallways is very colourful. The elevators appear to be new as well. The lobby is just delightful and the staff is very friendly and obliging. Even the breakfast was good. Every negative review that was written has been addressed and improved upon.
I was traveling solo. I spent some quality me time and thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere there. I traveled near the beginning of March. There are Restuarant’s a Target a 24 hour grocery store Applebees, an AMC theater and plenty of other restaurants and shopping within walking distance. I will definitely stay there again.
Very satisfied guest.

Jacuzzi room was nice - tub was clean. Wifi hard to access and only stays on for a while (if you are an honors member its free). Breakfast has gone downhill for Hampton - the 'egg omelet' or whatever is like rubber. No fresh fruit salad like before. Flavored coffee creamers not available. No stevia. Disappointed with breakfast. Bed comfy. Front desk was not present when I arrived had to wait 15+ minutes for someone to check me in. Food places close early in the area (everything was closed upon arrival).

My family of four stayed here on our way home from a road trip to New England. The location is conveniently off the highway and close to the Linden train station (for trips into NYC). You can walk to the shopping center nearby where you can buy anything you forgot to pack. There are plenty of restaurants in the area (especially in Rahway, about a 10-minute drive away), though none are "on-site" as the website indicates.
The rooms were generally clean and well-appointed, but everything about the hotel seemed a bit broken. To be fair, it's undergoing some renovations (e.g., the pool was closed for maintenance). However, one of our bathtubs had a dark stain. (I think it was rust, but at first I thought it was something worse.) The electronic door lock for one of the rooms was broken, so anyone could've just sauntered in. One of the toilets would often get stuck such that it would be constantly flushing.
The hotel offers free breakfast, but you need to arrive early (like 8am). We were down at 9, and all the hot food items (eggs, potatoes, sausages) were gone. The kitchen staff said they had run out and could not bring out more. The yogurts were nearly all gone as well along with the bread and bagels. (Reading the reviews, this appears to be a common problem at this hotel.)
The staff were friendly enough, but they couldn't really fix much of what was wrong with the hotel.

I arrived at 9pm on a Friday and there was only one receptionist at the desk. The receptionist was handling a customer and it looked like she could have used some help because the line was getting long. Ten to fifteen minutes later another receptionist came to check us in and the process took forever because she needed to use a computer that was already being used. The check in process took forever and I wasn’t pleased. The room was very nice overall however, the sheets smelled like they weren’t washed. It literally smelled like it hasn’t been washed from the previous stay. The next day housekeeping came and I asked them could they come back at a later time because I did need wash cloths and the sheets needed to be changed. The housekeeper said that she will come back. I left my room, told the front desk my room number and expressed again that I needed housekeeping to change the sheets. The front desk jotted it down on a note and I left. Hours later I came back to my room and no one came to clean it, and no one bothered to leave me washcloths. That alone will be the reason I would not be coming back. As a Hilton Honors member I am disappointed.

Prior to COVID I frequently stayed at Hampton Inns across the U.S. and this four night stay was the worse by far. I understand that there are COVID protocols, and the rooms are not cleaned during your stay, and I get it, but there are some things that are unacceptable! Firstly, there should not be dust on the carpet under the desk and along the walls, the desk chair shouldn’t keep sinking to the floor (broken hydraulic), chair was replaced with another broken one; and the microwave and mirrors should be clean. Secondly, I should not ask for fresh towels and be told that they in the laundry and not dry yet, then not be brought any, and I shouldn’t have to come down to the desk to pick up them up. Thirdly, trash from the room and dirty linens shouldn’t sit outside room door most of the day, and the trash in the trash cans in front of the lobby should be emptied. Lastly, since the hotel was no where near filled, there was no reason to run out of napkins and coffee cream, not to mention the coffee was horrible, and that’s unusual for Hamptons.

Linden has always been a nice town so I thought this place would be nice. It shares a parking lot with a lot of stores which is wonderful and convenient but that’s all!!! The hallways smelled like weed and the place is dirty. The carpets in the hallway look like they haven’t been vacuumed in a while, the walls were dirty, bathroom floors had hair and other dirt. I came up for a friend’s wedding and only needed the room for a night or else I probably would’ve left. I was happy I wasn’t alone because the hallways didn’t feel safe! I left at approximately 3am to head to the airport and there was a homeless man sleeping in the lobby ( he had his shopping cart loaded with stuff). The boxed breakfast was horrible but the front desk lady mentioned they were resuming hot breakfast a few days later. I will never stay here again...motel material!

Reception staff was so rude, she did not even give milk for my toddler at night. Breakfast was okay. They don’t clean rooms until the 4th day of your stay, so if you are staying beyond a day, you get clean room, towels, trash etc on the fourth day.

In March, I reluctantly chose to stay at the Hampton Inn due to its proximity to transportation into the city. As a frequent business traveler who also likes to visit family, convenience was a key factor. My flight arrived late, and I was utterly exhausted—I just wanted a quick shower and a comfortable bed.
My usual routine involves inspecting the room and spraying the bed before unpacking. Imagine my shock when I turned back the sheets and discovered unmistakable body fluid stains. It was truly DISGUSTING!!! I immediately called the front desk to address the issue. The front desk agent at the time assured me that someone would come to change the bed, but the wait was excruciatingly long—over 30 minutes.
The front desk agent promptly contacted the housekeeping supervisor, who unfortunately wasn’t on-site. The supervisor instructed him to personally verify the situation in my room. The whole exchange left me feeling as though my honesty was being questioned. But here’s the bottom line: if stains cannot be removed, they should be replaced. Who wants to sleep on someone else’s bodily fluids? The sheets should have been discarded without hesitation.
This wasn’t my first encounter with cleanliness issues at this hotel. Foolishly, I had stayed here before and faced a similar situation. I should have learned my lesson then. Consider this a warning: BEWARE of this hotel. The cleaning staff lacks pride and diligence in ensuring clean rooms. If you value a good night’s sleep, without stained bedding......look elsewhere.

Why have seal safe stickers on the staying cleaned, sanitized & inspected, if they are not. Besides finding paper garbage around the bed frame and we won the Covid Lottery when we found a baby pacifier on the floor between the two beds. God only knows what else was in there. They also had no wash cloths over the weekend for request.

Checking in the staff has attitude like you're bothering them check in.
Stayed for 3 days the breakfast is cold. They are not replenishing the food. There are a lot of customers walking away because the tables aren't being wiped down, there's no coffee, no sugar no cream, all the amenities with the oatmeal or all gone and nothing is being managed. The man serving the breakfast told me I should come in earlier. I explained that breakfast was supposed to be till 10:00. He was rude and again told me to come to breakfast earlier and more rudeness
I went to the front desk was told that was not her Department. Ask for a manager there is none, they will be in tomorrow. Told I should come down to breakfast earlier. But breakfast is served till 10:00 and I was down there at 9:00
Met a man on the elevator who explained he was told the same thing that we should be to breakfast earlier. He explained that the staff is rude to him too.
This just makes for an unpleasant experience there's got to be other places to say that treat you better

Not sure, I know hotel is very close to the train station.
Good Afternoon AviMom,
We did some re[fresh]ing to our guest rooms by removing wallpaper with some fresh paint, lay down new carpet on the first floor, elevator landings and paint the exterior. We also recently updated some wallpaper on a section of the first floor removing the old covering that was there. We look forward to your visit.
Yours in Hospitality,
Management
I would say yes because the hotel is in the service industry. It’s probably a very busy time of year.
Best bet would be to call the hotel.l if you have doubts.
