Nestled in a prime location with easy access to Manhattan and stunning views, the Hyatt Regency Jersey City on the Hudson is a focal point for many travelers. While some guests commend the hotel for its friendly staff and impressive vistas, others feel the atmosphere could benefit from a refresh, citing outdated decor and worn furnishings. Service experiences vary, with both accolades for staff helpfulness and criticism for slow responses. Although the amenities and cleanliness receive mixed reviews, the general consensus suggests room for improvement, especially regarding value, with dissatisfaction over additional costs for parking and breakfast.

I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived at the Hyatt Regency Jersey City and saw the amazing views of the New York City skyline across the Hudson. Spectacular views from the f&b outlets as well as 9th floor ballroom where you can see Manhattan as well as the Statue of Liberty in the distance. Same view from a large majority of the guest rooms. PATH station literally adjacent to the hotel makes it very convenient to get from the Hyatt over to the city. Rooms were clean (seems like it might be time for a refresh), beds were very comfortable, iPod docking stations are a bit outdated. Food & beverage at the hotel in restaurant as well as banquets was excellent. Service was very good as well. Cost is a fraction of the price of what you'd pay in NYC and you don't have the sirens and other distractions which made it quite peaceful.

I thought this hotel was very nice, and reasonably priced for such an upscale atmosphere, It was incredibly clean, and all the staff were enforcing masks which I really appreciated. The hotel is in a very good location near train station and a parking garage. There is a nice bagel place steps outside the main door where you can grab coffee and a quick bite in the morning. The best thing is probably the view of Manhattan. It’s relaxing to sit on a bench and just enjoy the view of the boats and the skyline.

We were pleasantly surprised at the roominess of our room and the cleanliness. We really appreciated that there was water in the fridge and cucumber infused water in the lobby, and complimentary coffee and tea in the morning. It was so nice not to have to pay a fortune for these little extras.

While checking in, I specifically mentioned that my daughter has an early morning flight and requested a wake up call. The daylight saving time was about to start at 2 am, so in order to be on the safe side I needed something else besides my regular alarm clock. I was assured that we will get a wake up call at 6 30 am and then a follow up call at 6:35 am. There was none. Luckily, my husband called me, so my daughter made it to the airport on time. I travel a lot and stay in various hotels on both sides of the Atlantic, and I never had any problems with wake up calls. I strongly hope that the Hyatt Regency staff will treat simple requests of its guests with more attention and respect.

Hotel has amazing views of the Hudson River and Manhattan. The hotel rooms could use a refresh, and the service varies. Our room had a long hair, and then before checking out we received multiple knocks asking if we had checked out (can they not see we have not?). The fitness center is very minimal.

Stayed in the Hudson River Suite for one night. Really enjoyed the views and the room. Sadly the bathroom was quite disgusting, not feeling clean after showering under the vent (see picture).
The location is superb with easy transit to Manhatten, and still fantastic views.
Sadly the rooms are also quite loud, could hear people banging with doors and talking in the halls eventhough our room first had a living room then a bedroom.
Also avoid the restaurant. We ate dinner in the bar where we hardly got any service, the waiter stopped by us a total 6 times, taking order (got our own menus), delivering water, delivering food, cleaning food, delivering bill, then complaining over a bad tip.
The breakfast was good, but our table was overflowing with plates while the waiter clearly did not want to clean it. (We ate everything up). Also slow beverage service for breakfast.

Disappointed in this beautiful water front hotel.
Bring your own mirror, Slipper and more...
Convenient and good location.
Just bring your own Gears. Food is great with high price and misleading voucher so after you finish, they would show your the font 6 print that you should come back after 2pm for lunch - what a wonderful service.

The hotel is very nice and updated. Staff is pleasant and helpful.
The room was a bit noisy, we could hear people in neighboring rooms. Valet parking costs are relatively high.
Check-in and Check-out are done efficiently and the process took less than anticipated.

If you're visiting the NYC area and you don't want the hustle and bustle, congestion and expensive rates of Manhattan, I highly recommend staying at the Hyatt Regency Jersey City. It's a very convenient location as it is right next to the NJ Path Transit System. It is only one stop away from the World Trade Center, where you can also transfer to many of the trains heading into downtown and uptown Manhattan. Additionally, the hotel rooms are fairly spacious and the views of the city skyline are breathtaking (especially at night). The hotel is clean and the staff is very friendly. I will certainly stay at this hotel again!

Stayed for 2 nights purely to secure a view of the NYC skyline. It's really a very boring place otherwise - very standardized north American Hyatt applies here. My sole purpose was to do some photography, so location and the preferred room choice was very important.

One thing I must add is that I arrived about 7am for early check-in (after a flight from Vancouver) so the room was not available. However, I was eventually accommodated around noon time, thanks to Mr. Shah at front desk.

Yes to both questions. I’ve stayed here many times and felt safe. Staff are friendly and helpful. The fellow travellers usually keep themselves to themselves. The surrounding area felt safe to me walking around during daylight hours on my own. There were plenty of other people, runners, tourists, dog walkers and families.
