I’ve been staying at Marriott properties for over 22 years, having stayed nearly 900 nights in all, but this was my first time staying at an Element. I was very impressed with the property and it’s amenities/offerings. Some of what they offer here, for free: • 2 drink tickets per night to use in their bar (for beer or wine) • Full breakfast, with a live cooking station where they’ll make an amazing openface egg sandwich similar to an avocado toast • Nightly tea with three herbal teas to choose from, made fresh from leaves, not bags The food offered wasn’t the typical watered down scrambled eggs, like in the lower end joints either!
My check-in was ok, not the best it could have been. Some of these amenities above weren’t explained to me, I asked about the breakfast later. The person checking me in said there would be an hour wait for my room, but I had gotten a text in about an hour prior advising to stop by the desk and get my key, as the room was ready.
The room was nice when I got to it. Comfy and plenty of space. Desk was useable, as I used it a lot for work and conference calls. There’s a kitchenette in the room too, with a full size fridge. HVAC wasn’t too loud and actually worked well. Toilet flushed like it should and shower drained like it should. I mention those things because the majority of Marriott properties I’ve stayed in over the past couple of years are going down in quality and those things aren’t always working properly.
Bed was comfy and the bed linens were clean and nicely pressed. They refreshed my room after the first night, but that was it… they didn’t come back after the second night – that’s confusing.
Parking is easy in the garage directly behind the hotel. The only inconvenience is having to get a prox card from the desk to open the gate to park and leave. You are responsible for this card and have to pay $50 if you don’t return it (according to the sign at the desk). Thus, after leaving, I couldn’t simply drive away, I had to find a place to park along that narrow road to go back in and turn in the card.
If you have business to attend to at the office, this place is attached to the Harrison PATH station, so you literally walk outside, up the steps in the garage and you’re at the train platform. It’s a quick, single stop ride to the Newark Penn Station. I could get to Riverfront Plaza from here in less than 10 minutes from leaving my room.
Overall – Excellent property! Great stay! Service was OK…. If it was better, I would definitely give this place the 5 stars it truly deserves! I’ll definitely return!

We had an amazing stay at the Element! Stayed here for two night to do some quick New York sight seeing. Check in was quick and easy. We were assigned room 606 it was nestled in the corner near the elevators but very quiet. Our room had two queen beds, a sofa, and a small kitchenette. It was perfect size for four of us. The bathroom had a nice walk-in shower and was very spacious. They have a nice complimentary breakfast each morning as well. If you’re planning to do some sightseeing in New York and don’t want to stay in New York this is the perfect place. I researched and researched hotels and places to stay and so glad I chose this place. It is close to the PATH station and was perfect transportation to get into the city without driving ourselves. I also want to give a big shout out to the staff, they were extremely nice and kind every single one of them we met. And a big thank you to Una who works the front desk in the evenings. When I ask her about the PATH station, she walked us outside pointed out exactly how to get where we needed to go and told us how to use the system and how easy it was. Greatly relieved some of my anxiety about it. She definitely went out of her way to answer my questions and guide us. Great stay and if we go back to this area we will stay here again.

Hotel offers all the amenities and benefits of a larger hotel, yet still is small enough to feel more like boutique hotel at a great price!
Staff are friendly and highly effective. Rooms are clean and spacious. Breakfast and restaurant are top notch. Want to go into Manhattan? You’re 20 minutes from World Trade Center by the PATH train (station a two minute walk away). Well-run hotel! Management A+!
Suggestion: add multiple electric vehicle charging stations as well as a few Tesla destination chargers. It’s a small investment, but you will see an almost immediate return. EV owners definitely take this into consideration when booking a hotel and not many in the NYC area actually have them.

We stayed for two nights with our two children (3.5 years old and 8 month old) in the two bedroom.
Pros: Really good blackout shades for during the day naps for our daughter. Kitchen with full fridge, stove, microwave, dishwasher, cutlery, cookware and plates/cups. Nespresso coffee machine and pods There were complimentary snacks in the evening with a glass of wine/beer in the lobby.
Cons: The breakfast was not good at all. There is a yogurt bar (strawberries were moldy). The egg bites were the same for two days, and then toast with condiments. For a Marriot standard, it was low.
Our room was not clean at all. For a renovated property, the room we were in was not maintained at all. The bathroom was not clean and again, for a Marriot standard, it wasn’t good.
Onsite parking garage for a daily fee of $20. Staff were polite.

It was one night stay and not for leisure. It is an ok hotel, good for business people, very close to train station that makes it easier for people working or traveling to NYC on business. Rooms are ok but the concept one bedroom suite is not suitable; Getting out of the elevator, a strong smell of dog, carpet dirty, if you have to stay there, ask for a room away from the train station to be able to sleep. Congested area during rush hours.

Pros - Good location in terms of being easily accessible to the PATH train with direct connections to NYC. There also a nice handful of restaurants and convenient shops (i.e. drugstore, liquor store) within walking distance.
Cons - 1) Showing it's wear and tear. For example the corridors could definitely use a fresh coat of paint and new carpets. 2) The housekeeping service was subpar. Their were stains on the walls in our suite which were ignored day after day and I just felt there was a lack of conistency in terms of schedule and level of service. I never felt clean staying here. 3) The customer service was inconsistent. Some were friendly, some definitely were not. This definitely fell short of my expectations where I think everyone in hospitality should be consistently friendly.
Finally the most heartbreaking aspect of my stay was the sheer amount of trash this hotel generates daily. Other than what is provided in your suite's kitchenette, all of the dishes and cutlery are disposable; paper plates, paper cups, plastic cutlery, EVERYTHING! Even when ordering food from the restaurant, meals are servied with paper plates. It's extremely disheartening when there's so much awareness being created about the environment and it also seems completely at odds with the Westin's whole wellness mantra. Shame on them.

They do not offer a room cleaning service, make your bed, change the linen towels etc. if you stay more than 1 night. Chris Moron ( I kid you not that’s his name ) is a moron what hotel doesn’t offer a cleaning service.
Rude and obnoxious i won’t stay in Any Marriott gain because of this Moron. Avoid unless you like paying to clean and make up your own room.
What a shame

Very convenient to the PATH Station. It is only a 22 minute ride to the World Trade Center or you can get off at Hoboken and catch the train to 32nd street. That only takes about 5-7 minutes. The hotel is nice but the hallways are a bit outdated. They definitely need to upgrade. It had complimentary breakfast and shuttle.

We stayed for 3 nights as we had some business to attend in NY city. The hotel is right next to the PATH station which takes you directly to the WTC station. We booked the Studio which had a fully equipped kitchen that we used to cook our own meals. The passage on the floor could use some upgrades, other than the rooms were perfect. Also, its a pet friendly hotel.

From the moment we stepped in the lobby doors at Element Harrison , we were greeted with helpful, smiling faces! Upon entering our room, we were pleasantly surprised with how spacious, clean, and well appointed it was. It really felt like a home away from home, complete with a kitchen, and all you would need to enjoy a relaxing stay. There was tons of room for our son to spread out, and a sitting area for us to enjoy. The staff was so helpful in answering all of our questions about directions, parking, and dining. We would most definitely stay here again, and recommend to anyone visiting the Newark area! We even opted to cancel our dinner reservations, and order room service! Fabulous service all around!

Hi,
Yes they do provide pick-up and drop-off. My flight hours were during the day.
I had sent them the request through email and called them the day before flying to make sure the request was taken care off.
The driver was extremely nice! So I would just contact them to have them put it on the planning.
Krgds and great trip!
