I stayed here when I was an exhibitor at the New Jersey Expo & Convention Center; it is about 15 mins away. I was pleasantly surprised by the wonderful room and great amenities. I had never stayed at a Home2Suites by Hilton before, but I definitely will again. The room was huge with a great kitchenette, a full refrigerator, large microwave, dishes, cups, coffeemaker, utensils and a dishwasher!! It also has a free laundry room (bring your own detergent or buy there), a fitness room and a nice breakfast included. And I can’t say enough about the staff. They were amazing, 5 star service. I left some clothes there and I sent them a prepaid UPS label and they shipped them back to me. So grateful for that. Love this place!!

This hotel was conveniently located to family during the holidays, and everything was clean and staff were pleasant. It was easy to access on and off 287 and close to Rt 1. It was also very close to a rail trail and park for us to walk our dog, who traveled with us. The pandemic did limit the breakfast options, but no big deal. The pool was also closed during our stay, which we were initially bummed about, but since we were busy all day, our kid didn’t miss it so not a big deal for us. The only strange things we faced were no toilet paper in the room when we arrived, and the mattress cover was on top of the sheets. Ha! It was all clean, and not a big deal, we understand everyone is short staffed everywhere- and we checked in on Christmas Day. The room was spacious and had all the basics for small meal prep, and it was exactly what we needed for 2 adults, young child, and a big dog.

What a surprise! We travelled with a family of 4, including a 3 and 6 year old. The suites were fully equipped with a regular size fridge, dishwasher, cups dishes cutlery and more. Nate checked us in and he got us our room even though we were a bit early. While checking in, Nate was handling front desk calls, questions from house keeping and other customers, all while checking me in. He even offered a pregnant guest with her bags. Nate was pleasant, friendly and social, all while being extremely efficient and multi tasking without making any errors. I’m a small business owner myself and I would love to someone like Nate on our team. Thank you !

So I booked a one night stay at Home2 Edison for a mini vacation as the kids (two 6 year olds) love swimming at the hotel pools. Once we checked in we went up to the room, changed to our swim clothes, and went down to the pool. It was COLD! The kids tried to go in but couldn’t make it past the steps. This has happened to us before at other hotels and when we asked to check out and get a refund it was always allowed. So I asked the front desk if we can do the same. The 2 ladies at the front desk (sorry I didn’t catch their names) were very helpful and sympathetic, noting that the cold pool has often been complained about. They proceeded to call the manager, Aaron, and he first said he couldn’t give a refund because I booked through hotels.com. Then I told him my story and again asking for a refund. He asked me to hand the phone back to the lady and she then said “he said everything’s been taken care of”. I asked if I will get a refund and she said “yes he will handle it all”. Great, I took the kids back up, we changed and checked out. Total time spent there probably around 30 minutes. We booked a room at Fairfield by Marriott Edison directly across the street. Their pool was WARM and also had a hot tub! Wish we had booked there in the first place. So fast forward to the next day, I still didn’t see a refund in my account so I called up hotels.com to see what’s up. They called the hotel and spoke to Aaron, guess what, he refused the refund. Then I went back to talk to him (since I was just across the street anyway) and he then said crap like the kids went in (up to their knees!!), and we changed clothes in the room (yeah we have to change to go to the pool!), so he can’t give a refund. Really any reason to go back on his word. All forgetting the point that he said the day before that “everything’s been taken care of” in the first place! Bold face lie. Because of him I ended up PAYING for 2 hotels for the same night! If I didn’t think I was getting a refund I wouldn’t have checked out in the first place! Not to mention I received no phone call or email from Aaron stating that I would not get a refund. If I didn’t check myself I wouldn’t have found out until I saw my next credit card bill. Shady. Anyway, he was totally unprofessional. It’s a shame because the room was really nice. Long story short, if you want to enjoy a warm pool, go to Fairfield. If you want a hotel manager that is professional and treats customers right, DO NOT go here. Fairfield was cheaper too.

We had to make our own bed because Room Service failed to come even after several requests. We had to make several requests for towels, wash clothes, sheets, etc. Dishwasher did not work. We were told only fix was to change rooms, and after unpacking and being in the room for 24 hours we declined. Reception Desk is rarely manned and can be a 20 min. wait for service. House phone in our room did not work. Repair Order was placed, and Repair Person came late and past our bedtime, so phone was not repaired. We needed to use the House Phone at the Hotel entrance and found that was broken as well. Cleaning crew did not speak English and management always needed to call in a translator. Accommodations were nice but Staffing at this Hotel leaves a lot to be desired.

Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at. We arrived and the first room we got was unclean- floors unswept and mopped, beds unmade, smudge marks on mirrors, no toilet paper, food residue on surfaces. The whole hotel smelled of vape juice and cigarettes. The three next rooms we were given were also just as dirty. One room option had the room next door, with a door that had been kicked in. We settled for the slightly cleaner one as Hilton did not offer a refund even after waiting 15 minutes to speak to a representative. I wish I could give this place less than one star. Save your money and go somewhere else. Do not make the same mistake that we made.

Filling out checkout we were charged with a random $150 fee. I contacted the hotel and was informed it was a deep cleaning fee. Again we were provided no notice or documentation of this prior to being charged. The state of our room when we left would be very typical for a stay that was provided no housekeeping during. We left a large pizza box with uneaten pizza on the counter since it would not fit in any of the trash cans. There were also dirty plates left in the kitchenette area. Again not anything I would think require “deep cleaning” there is literally a dish washer in the room. The pull out couch was already filthy underneath when we used it for our kids. There were Cheetos and food crumbs old playing cards and guitar picks.

I’m very disappointed with cleanliness and services. No hot water for days and elevator stinks in the evening. Staff is very rude, pool is closed but others hotel like Marriott in the area do have pool. Good hotel and location but the staff and services needs to be addressed

Did they learned nothing over the last 15 months? Over emphasis on things that don’t get people sick but poor performance on breakfast and operating in a post crisis mode.

My husband, pets, and myself drove up from Florida to stay at this Hilton in Edison on July 14th, 2021 for one night before we reached our destination in Maine. We have been Hilton members for years and always enjoyed our stays in Hilton hotels around the U.S., until this hotel. The room was dirty - floors had some chocolate or whatever caked on them, microwave had crumbs, toilet had hairs, and worst of all, sheets were soiled!!! So disgusting. I went downstairs to talk to the front desk receptionist. She was very friendly, but couldn't help the situation. I even asked if I could clean the room but all she had was wipes. She even stopped by the room so I could show her how gross it was. I asked her to please pass this on to Housekeeping. What on earth!!! Hilton has always had a great reputation, but I am seriously concerned now after staying at this Hotel in Edison. I hope this issue is addressed with management. Let's see if they respond to this review. As I read other reviews, it seems like others have experienced an unacceptable stay as well. I cannot believe that Hilton would allow guests to check in to rooms that are filthy. Who is monitoring and managing Housekeeping and guest check-in?? I will take this to corporate headquarters.
