Detailed Reviews
The area around the hotel are a little sketchy however the place is not bad and literally right off the highway. It is a little dated and not super clean. The bathroom smelled liked cigarettes and the sheets had a smudge of what i am guessing is lipstick on them. The bed however was quite comfortable. The air conditioner worked very well and the shower was great The staff are very nice, other than check-in we really didn't need anyone. For the price it is worth a quick stay. We were only here overnight but would stay again if needed.

Hello JamieLynn S, Thank you so much for sharing your experience with our hotel. It brings us much delight to hear your positive feedback about our staff. On the otherhand, I feel your frustrations about the room and bathroom not being cleaned properly. The circumstances you have mentioned are not what I want you to experience with our property. Your feedback is very important and I will share the details with the hotel staff so we can make necessary changes to improve our facility. I will say the area around this hotel is building up. It use to be a little on the sketchy side but it’s much better.
As for the hotel the lobby does not match the rooms. The rooms and the hallways have had a nice overhaul. The rooms and the halls are not as dark as they use to be. Nice wall paper. The gray color is very modern. Beds are very comfortable. Hot water is very hot so be careful or you can get a nasty burn. Hottest water I have EVER seen in a hotel. Nice white towels. I don’t know if the room was sanitized, but the remote was in a plastic bag. I always bring lysol and Clorox wipes with me to sanitize high tough areas before we touch anything or sit on anything in any hotel room.
The lobby of the hotel is very, very dated. I hope the renovation will be extended to to lobby area and the elevator soon.
Hotel personnel are very nice and accommodating. I did note they were not enforcing the mask policy. With the omicron variant definitely on the rise in the NYC/NJ area, it is imperative these policies are enforced for the safety of their patrons. There were several times I would not get on the elevator as people did not have on masks. I will say there was an abundance of sanitizer available.
This is our hotel of choice in the Edison area and has come a long way from when we first started staying here. If they redo the lobby and elevator and enforce the mask policy they have on the door, maybe my rating will go up.

Hi ConverseConnie94, Thank you for choosing to stay with us and for posting a candid review. I was very concerned to read your comments regarding your shower experience, lobby, safety mask protocol, value, and comfort. I understand your dismay and I am sorry. This is not the way we help our guests recharge and be inspired. I will make sure to share your comments with our team for the necessary improvements needed on our end. I appreciate you as our guest and I still hope you would give us another chance in the future. Orlando A. Case Manager IHGService

Located along a major road in Edison, this CP is charmless and offers little more than basic big rooms with basic bathrooms.
The corridors are unpleasant and the room is worth spending the night inside, nothing more. The gym is tiny and offers little equipment. I cannot recommend this venue, service was sub par, I requested upon check in a room not facing the main road, the receptionist set me directly on the main road...

Hotel's Favourite
I travel to this area for business pretty often and this newly renovated Crowne Plaza is my new favorite in the area. I've stayed here 3 or 4 times in the past few months and staying again next week. Good location, very nice staff, cleanliness is good. I wish the gym was a little larger and better equipped. I highly recommend.

I want to thank Alexandra Cook for such an amazing experience at the Crowne Plaza in Edison, NJ. My son's lacrosse team had a change in location for their tournament and we found ourselves needing a new hotel. After speaking with Alexandra, I held a block of rooms for the team with her help. She went over and above for us! Some of the team decided to drive in the night before and she graciously offered to extend the block and our rate. When the kids showed up, they were happily surprised by signs welcoming our team and gift bags! The hotel was really nice and the outdoor area was so amazing and appreciated! The team and parents were able to sit outside and relax after the morning games. The staff at the hotel couldn't have been any nicer...from check in to special requests. The rooms were beautiful and so nice and quiet! I slept so well and I normally don't in a hotel...but I couldn't hear any noise from attached rooms or the hall, a very big deal to me! Thank you to Alexandra for helping us with such last minute plans, we will be back if we're ever in the area again!

Stayed here for an event hosted here for 2 nights, was very quiet (really felt like I was the only person in the hotel) both nights I did not hear anybody and was able to sleep good throughout the night, rooms are very big and clean. The food is good too especially the breakfast. Good place for business travel or even a staycation spot. Overall this hotel exceeded my expectations, and I was glad that the event was hosted here.

Pretty hotel undergoing reservations. Clean rooms with comfy beds, fridges, good breakfast. People who stayed above the conference room area complained about loud music from Christmas parties, but we were on the other side and didn’t hear it. Staff was friendly overall. There was one rude young female desk clerk; when we asked if the small area on the side was the temporary bar while the main lobby bar was being renovated she said “No, it’s closed.” We said “We see it’s closed right now, but is that the temporary bar area during renovations?” She said “No! It’s closed! That’s what I’m trying to tell you!” (Yes, the area on the left of check-in is the temporary bar and it’s open in the evenings.) It may have been a language comprehension issue, but someone should teach her how to say “Yes, that’s the temporary bar, it’s open in the evening.” Great hotel! About 30-45 minutes to NYC.

We stayed four nights at this hotel while on a motor coach tour to New York City. It is a bit of a ways from the city, but over the Labor Day Weekend traffic was light so didn't take long to get to where we were going. The hotel rooms were renovated in 2019 and are quite nice. The beds are comfortable and our room was very quiet. The bath amenities are nice quality and the towels are thick and fluffy. They give you water bottles in the room (free) and there is a Keurig machine. You get four coffees and two tea k-cups. They refill as needed. Coffee is also available in the lobby in the morning. Currently the public areas of the hotel are being renovated. There is a nice courtyard in the back and places you can walk around the hotel. The staff is friendly and helpful.

I stayed here because it was the group hotel for a reunion, and had both disappointing and favorable experiences.
Most Noteworthy: 1) Reservation process from hell-- Long hold times, contradictory representations and room rates, and lack of written confirmation of booking; and 2) standing, dirty water in bathtub at check-in.
Reservations required three calls, routed through call center in India, totaling 30-45 minutes. The first reservation rep answered phone quickly, needed to contact hotel manager regarding giving me the group rate for room, and then relayed that the group rate was approved, but failed to email me a confirmation. Second call (to hotel) produced a confirmation email with a different rate than the one previously given. On third call (reservation center) , I relayed to agent what the first agent told me, the reason for my call and that I was the same guest for whom the hotel manager had approved giving the group rate 15 minutes earlier.
The Agent repeated the same approval process of calling the hotel manager ( same manger??) like the first agent did but this time relayed that the manager declined to give me the group rate. Reponses from management to the same guest for a single issue (room rate) should have been uniform,
Dirty water in tub--a first for me. Poor housekeeping. Rest of room was clean.
Room was spacious and satisfactory. Bed was comfortable.

Dear mads212, Thank you for selecting our Crowne Plaza Edison and for providing feedback about your experience. It's a pleasure having you as our guest. I am truly sorry you did not experience an exemplary stay due to our room's cleanliness and our housekeeping. This is certainly below our usual high standard of service. Please be certain that I have noted and forwarded your feedback for the management to improve. In the middle of your experience, I am glad our room's sleeping quality and the hotel's location were still appreciated. Please grant us the opportunity to prove ourselves again. Best Regards, Ben W. The amount I paid for this hotel was simply a waste of money. I highly recommend that everyone avoid booking this hotel, especially if you are traveling for work. They turn off the AC at 10 PM and turn it back on at 6 AM, making it difficult to sleep and focus on your work. I suggest choosing a different hotel. I couldn't sleep because it was humid and the AC was turned off.

Hi JerseygirlOhio!
I think that I already answered this question but just to be sure the Crowne Plaza is a 100% Smoke Free Hotel but there are plenty of outdoor areas including our courtyard that smoking is permitted.
