Reviews summary
This summary was created by AI, based on recent reviews.
Powered by AI

The Hilton Meadowlands garners mixed reviews, with guests appreciating its proximity to major attractions and the convenience of shuttle services. However, the atmosphere is viewed as lackluster, with dated rooms and service lapses dampening the experience. Many visitors find the value wanting due to unexpected charges and pricey extras. Room conditions, particularly malfunctioning air conditioning and outdated decor, draw criticism, while the state of cleanliness receives both praise and censure, indicating inconsistency. Amenities and service quality are similarly hit-or-miss, leaving room for improvement.

We stayed in rm 1216 and it wasn’t bad. No WOW 🤩 factor just a standard room. This room wasn’t one of the ones that was upgraded so it was like the room other people mentioned, old and outdated. But the beds were fine. Definitely small bathroom 🚽 I read the reviews and allowed the water 🚿 for the shower to run a few mins before going in and it was good. But definitely not one you can hop in immediately. The sink water was definitely good hot water and cold. Our toilet was a little slow flushing.

If you’re just looking for a quick place to stay while visiting American Dream/Nickelodeon or a game at the stadium highly recommend. Our digital key worked fine and we asked for more towels and they came up within 15 mins or so. Parking also wasn’t bad and check in/out was a smooth process.

I’ve stayed at this property at least 100 times mostly when it was a Sheraton but more recently as a Hilton. I’ve always thought it was a good value for the money with a competent staff anxious to please. One of the features I’ve always liked was the breakfast which as a diamond member was complementary.

With the pandemic, many hotels have been cutting back on the perks for frequent travelers but I’ve noticed that many owners are using it as an excuse to save every penny they can. This management is one of those.

While this facility has its restaurant open for dinner it’s closed for breakfast “due to the pandemic” more likely due to the owner not wanting to provide breakfast to their most faithful customers. They also have a Starbucks open for breakfast but wouldn’t think of honoring their promise to diamond members there.

This all will be over eventually and we should all remember which properties treated us well and which ones did not.

Room had an amazing view of Manhattan skyline and was very close to MetLife Stadium. Bartender in the bar was great. Cleaning crew came into room unannounced at 8am while we were still asleep and again at 9:10am while I was changing and had no clothes on! Walked right in without any knock or anything. Totally unacceptable.

We've now stayed here more than once and will stay again! This full service hotel has a very good restaurant and bar, reasonable breakfast buffet, views of NYC from many rooms, comfortable rooms and a great location. You can see MetLife Stadium across the highway, Rt 3, leading to the Lincoln Tunnel, only about 5 miles away. The hotel will shuttle to the Secaucus train station where round trip to New York Penn station is $13.00 (seniors $4...!) or to the new monster mall/entertainment complex, American Dream, owned by the Mall of America folks and also across the highway in view of the hotel. Getting there is easy, once you navigate the service roads around the stadium, being just a few minutes away from Garden State Pkwy, Route 17 and I-95 is literally next to the hotel. The staff has been attentive, helpful and friendly. This is our go-to hotel for visits to NYC and northern NJ......far more convenient , and a better deal, than staying in the city.

I really don't like leaving negative reviews but I feel like people should know what they're buying. Easily the loudest hotel I've stayed in. Paper thin walls and doors that bang shut. On our floor several families traveling together were letting their kids run yelling through the halls and slamming room doors repeatedly from 8 until midnight. Called the front desk and they had security come up but it didn't stop them. I understand that this isn't the hotel's fault but the infrastructure is: you can hear the conversations in other rooms and everyone that passes by in the hall. Overall this hotel is shabby and run down. The fitness center is anemic and can't be entered until you sign a waiver and make an effort to ask for access - the room key won't work until you do. There were holes in the bedspread, cracks in the shower wall, damage to the room floor that had been filled in with a marker, and the rotating entrance door to the hotel was broken and didn't work. To be fair, here is the good: pleasant front desk staff; easy parking; Starbucks in the lobby; nice sized rooms; and the room itself was clean and well equipped with coffee, a good sized fridge, and a high tech safe. You'll be fine if you just use this hotel as a one night stopover but it does not do credit to the Hilton name. This was our first outing in two years and and after Covid and it was disappointing.

I stayed at the Hilton Meadowlands on Wednesday January 29, 2020 and again on Saturday and Sunday the 1st and 2nd of February 2020. The desk staff was very helpful and accomodating. The room was large, clean and comfortable. And overall the hotel was super convenient to Manhattan without actually being IN Manhattan.
I ended up paying around $140.00 a night when I booked through the Hilton app. I then used the hotel as a central ground to pick up my guests at Newark airport, go into Manhattan and go to the American Dream mall. (Which for all intent and purposes was not really open. Wait until March before going to the mall).
Located across the street from the American Dream Mall and the Football stadium the hotel is nice and close to a Walmart and a Costco, had numerous dining options nearby and was totally perfect for what I wanted.

Strong recommend on this one.

As an added bonus, when we were leaving at 3am on Monday morning to go to the Newark airport there was a group of deer running around on the property. Very Cool!

I was with a group of 10 for dinner at the restaurant on property last night and had a great experience. The food was very good, the wine list was high quality and, most notably, the service received by Jean Pierre was fantastic. Jean Pierre was very attentive but not "hovering" and was tuned in to the needs of the guests. He was appropriately engaging, asked questions then made recommendations that were all perfect. I will seek him out for future visits to the restaurant

I came into town for a funeral. I called ahead of time to speak with the front desk and spoke to a woman that was pretty unhelpful. I was asking to add names to one of my reservations because my grandmother was meeting me there and arriving earlier than me. She said she couldn't do that. Before I even came in I was already let down with the lack of service. I was checked in by I believe his name was Mr. Wooley I think he was a manager. Very friendly and gave completely different service then what I had experienced on the phone. I appreciated him. The safe in the room did not have batteries in it. The maintenance man told us they must've never been used before. I understand it is a full service property and its common to not have microwaves but for there not to be one anywhere in the entire hotel for guests to use is absurd. The rooms were really clean and the decor is super nice. Furniture is clean and new. The sounds in the room were terrible. I am a heavy sleeper and I was woken up all night by sounds from rooms all around me and the ice machine. Doors slamming all night. There is no type of sound barrier at all. Like I said I am a SUPER HEAVY SLEEPER, I was woken up so many times. It was so frustrating. Probably wouldn't return for the pure fact that I could not sleep with all the sounds and that is usually the reason a person books a hotel. Again Mr. Wooley was great and the rooms were really nice with a good view but something needs to be done about the attitude/helpfulness of other front desk staff and the sound pollution coming from the halls and other rooms.

Thank you very much for your review it is much appreciated. I do apologize for any inconvenience. I am not sure if you had a Hilton team member rates or a friends and family rate because this is the only case we unfortunately can not add names to the original booking guests. Thank you also for the nice comment about Mr. Wooley he is our night manager and he is very helpful and friendly. I am also glad you liked our new rooms and sorry for the noise. Again we appreciate your comment and wish you would give us another chance and stay with us again. You may contact me for any future reservations. george.soliman@hilton.com

It was a oke stay but definitely not a hilton to these days standards. Im a gold member and did not get recognized apparent from the $30 credits to use for f&b. Biggest problem was the restaurant, The staff of the restaurant, must have hate their job! They where so unfriendly and so unprofessional, the mornings but also at night. We did go every morning for breakfast, they would lead us to a table, then the server would not come to our table, both days we had to walk to the servers to request coffee, we did not leave tip the second day since they even said: “ dont you see im busy doing something “. The evening was even worse, we wanted to get some drinks. We walked in and the lady at the entrance pointed us to one of the lounge sections. After 10 minutes we started to wave at some serving staff of the restaurant but they (two servers that where waiting in front of the big mirror) did not seem to care, i walked to them and asked if we could order something, they literally said:”we are only serving food and drinks you could get at the bar” when i asked if we could order with one of them they said :”no, only at the bar” for a $15 wine exclusive service charge, which we did not get, is very very expensive. The day of checkout we wanted to get starbucks but everything went wrong there too… the power or generator was switching off every 5 minutes and their systems had to restart every time. The wait line was over 20 people because of this.

The room was spacious but very very noisy! Sounded like their was a helicopter next to our window trying to land. We where staying in room 2104 and it was very very noisy, must have been a outside ac unit or something. The body wash was empty upon arrival and requested at the frontdesk to refill the first day, the second day but both times they did not refill and the day of checkout the body wash was still not refilled.

Last bit of criticism; executive lounge is closed, front desk said because and since covid-19 its closed, i think its not fair to use this as an excuse anymore.

All and all not a good place to stay! Avoid this hotel. I will also sent an email to the general manager about my issues and hope they will take action. Management needs to take action!
