I stayed here for the Eagles and Giants game this past weekend. It’s no glamorous hotel I’ll tell you that. However.. the rooms have a full sized refrigerator, stove, cabinets, and microwave. It’s definitely convenient if you’re looking to cook and not spend on restaurants. One complaint I have is that it is SO NOISY!!!!! Every time someone opened their door, I heard it. Every time someone closed their door, I heard it. I heard everyone’s footsteps on the floor above me. I couldn’t sleep. I had to request a late checkout for the next day because I lost hours of sleep and they kindly gave me an extended check out. This is more of a hotel for people just trying to crash if you’re drunk or exhausted from driving or a long day somewhere. Overall, it wasn’t terrible. Had a decent experience!

We knew we were running late so we called and let them know, when we got there, it was news to the front desk clerk and she let us know how "lucky we were" that she had a room left.
It all went down hill from there.
Walking to the room, the hallway was filled with pot smoke.
We get to the room and we find the HVAC unit doesn't work properly, the thermostat wouldn't shut it off, so it was either let the room get way too hot, or hope the heat that was in the room would hold until morning (it was already 1AM). It didn't, but I would rather be cold at night than hot.
Then, in the morning, we made a discovery that made us less than happy. While looking for the iron (NO BOARD) we found the smoke detector on one of the shelves in the kitchen. When we looked up on the ceiling, there was the spot where it should have been...
We've stayed at these properties before and never had a problem, that's why I booked it without hesitation, this is one that will never see us again.

I was very very disappointed in this location. Please be reminded of the area you are in. All ESA's are not created equally. If they were renovating, it should have been mentioned b/c the rooms were broken, cracked and infested with ants and roaches. All types of people live at Extended Stays which means cleanliness can be compromised.

The hot water is out of service two mornings in a row. Zero response from the staff. Two dryers out of service. Zero response from the staff. I am a long-term guest here and I recommend that people avoid this place if possible. This location is across the street from the largest entertainment mall in the world and 10 minutes from New York City. This location should be a flagship and not the rundown place that it is. The hallways are often smoke-filled and the litter is often overflowing. I have requested that officers of the company contact me over the last year and I have not heard from them. I have a feeling that if they were aware of conditions here they might do something about it. I paid this company approximately $100,000 over the last several years and if I can’t get a response I can’t imagine how they would respond to a one or two night guest.

My husband booked a 6 day stay at the East Rutherford, Nj location when I was released from the hospital as I could not yet navigate my stairs at home. Since I’m using a walker he requested a handicapped room. The room we got had a tub/shower which obviously was not conducive to someone in my condition. We went to the front desk and spoke to Andrew who gave me another room. Guess what? It also had a tub. Went to the front desk again and was given another room…it also had a tub when we explicitly said we needed a shower stall only. How is this hotel ADA compliant ? At this point a possible manager called another location a few miles away in Secaucus and assured us that THEY had a handicapped room available for us. We drove over there expecting to check in quickly. Instead we got a young man at the front desk who was totally clueless and had to keep calling up his manager for assistance. This ordeal took over an hour with the young man trying to charge us for the night ( we already pre paid for 6 nights!). We gave up and said we were cancelling everything and the clerk was equally confused in issuing us a refund. Anyway we are dealing with trying to get our money back and if not resolved will dispute the charge with our credit card department.. this was a horrible experience..

This is the worst hotel that I have been. When I was checking in, the front desk staff told me that they are overbooked and they don’t have the type of room I reserved. My family and I were so exhausted from our travel and would take anything they have available. They said that they have a one queen bed room left. I can’t imagine how they would make 4 people fit in one queen bed. They don’t even have cots to provide us with. They offered us to stay in the other Extended Stay location but we have to pay for the current prevailing price. This is a scam that they are doing in this hotel. If you don’t want to ruin your plans or trip, I suggest you don’t stay in this hotel. BTW, I asked the staff if we could check the small room that they offered, the room smell like someone with strong body odor stay and rubbed themselves against the walls and carpet.

When we got off of the elevator the smell of cigarettes was overwhelming. This was also the case in the room. Since it was late and we were only staying one night we dealt with it. The next day I received an additional charge of $255 on my Credit Card. When I called the hotel to inquire they told me that was a 'Smoking Fee', and that since we did not complain about the smell when we got there they had the right to charge us a smoking fee. Additional calls to the main customer service line were no help as they said this charge is at the discretion of the location manager. Stay Away.

This has been a very bad experience for multiple reasons:
1. No complimentary continental breakfast as advertised on the site (which is included in the final cost)
2. Room tv doesn't work (volume cuts in and out)
3. Room was not clean upon arrival. Dirty sheets. Used pillows under the bed with previous guests belongings.
4. Front desk phone is some times not answered. Had to walk down to speak to someone multiple times. No one was at the desk nor came to the desk multiple times as well
5. Condensation @window. High humidity levels
6. Unprofessional front desk service staff.

This is definitely a no frills hotel but the room was clean and the staff was very friendly. I like that the room had a full kitchen with a stove. I had a great view of the manhattan skyline from my window and the locations is very perfect to get to the American dream mall. This hotel is one that some people live in and there was a smell of weed in some parts of the hallway. But for the affordable cost it was great for our budget friendly spring break adventure with kids. I did feel safe .

Unfortunately there is no public transportation. You should rent a car or take taxi.
LaGuardia is the closest, but you can actually fly into JFK or Newark if you can find less expensive flights because they're not much further away.
Actually you CAN walk to the Met Life stadium from the other side of the highway: its about 1.2 miles by walking west on Sheraton Drive which then turns into the Service Road which curves under the highway and leads you out to the west end of Met Life's parking lot (near the Giants practice field)
