During a very difficult time in my life, this place became home. From the cleaning staff, who work tirelessly round the clock, to the front desk to maintenance, to the kitchen, etc. it has become my safe haven. The rooms/suites are more than roomy, it's updated and the kitchen is phenomenal. I would give this 10 stars for the facility and 10 stars for the entire staff.

First, I must say that Rodney at the front desk made this visit memorable by his easy going manner while helping to resolve an issue. He took the time to listen and also was very engaging in conversation. I was there for an entire week and each day he always spoke to me by name. That experience is a level of service that is uncommon at most hotels.
There was an issue with the room because the last guest had smoked in there, mainly in the bathroom, making the entire space stink like an ashtray. Smokers can be so disrespectful, so I hope the hotel charges that guest a heavy fine for the damage caused.
I was promptly moved to a new room that was very clean. I have absolutely no complaints about the room. The heating/AC worked fine and was quiet. The WiFi worked without issue (I need a reliable signal and good bandwidth for business). The shower had plenty of hot water and good pressure. The kitchen was clean as was the refrigerator.
In the morning I found the breakfast fairly routine. They offered the basic choice of eggs, pancakes or french toast, and a variety of breads and cereal. There was fresh fruit and a selection of Greek yogurts. They also provided individual packets of flavored oatmeal. The staff maintained the dining area to high standards and made sure every seat and table was clean. Really, there is nothing to complain about.

Hotel sits in a quiet area off the beaten path a bit. My selected room was not available, but was upgraded to another room. The one bedroom suite did have a door to adjoin to the adjacent suite, which would be convenient for anyone with a larger family, especially if needing an extended stay. The room appeared, clean and tidy. The bed was very comfortable, and the sheets were notably soft. The selection of television channels was better than most Marriott brand hotels I’ve stayed in. Breakfast was what you would expect for a free breakfast at most hotels however, I wish the hot water for tea would not always taste like coffee. It ruins the flavor of your tea. I would stay there again.

I stayed at this hotel in September. The hotel is tucked away off of the main road but directly across the street their is a mall. The fornt desk staff was very polite and friendly. Tawanda (I apologize if I misspelled her name) always greeted us and answered our questions. She was great. The hotel was clean, they have a room to purchase snacks, nice size breakfast area, and indoor pool (small size) and a basketball court outside along with a gym on the inside. There are two hotels but the parking lot is large enough to accomdate both. The elevator could use some updating to the floor. The hallways were clean with ample lighting. I chose to get the upgraded room with the panoramic view. The room was large have three large windows was nice but the view consisted of a wooded area. The fan in the freezer makes a loud humming noise but overall it worked very well. We did not use an of the cooking utensils as they were not clean. The TV's are on a swivel which is great you can watch them from the couch or the desk but the cable in the back falls outs. The chairs in the room need a to be cleaned due to the stains on them that make you not want sit on them. The bedroom area was comfortable. nice pillows with a decent size closet. Please keep in mind that housekeeping must be requested a day in advance. The room has two towels, two wash cloths and three hand cloths. So if you have multple people staying you may want to request housekeeping in advance. Overall the hotel was quiet even with a large wedding party in the hotel, the staff was friendly and the room was spacious.

Had stayed at the Townplace Suites before when visiting family in this area. This time there was no availability there, so I booked the Homewood Suites for the 2 nights we were in town, even though I was aware the reviews for this hotel weren't as good. Of all the Homewood suites I stayed at over the years this one is by far the worst. Starting with check-in, the front desk clerk was very uninformative. No recognizing my Hilton Honors membership, no instructions on amenities or breakfast hours, etc. After settling in I went to the lobby to get some hot water for tea, and found the water was barely luke-warm. Heated it in the microwave in the room. Breakfast next morning was equally disappointing. This location doesn't have the belgian waffle maker that all other HW suites I've stayed at does. The usual omelettes/sausage selections were just as cold as the hot water was (again). We decided to eat breakfast at a nearby diner the next morning. Other things we noted: the drain under the sink was dripping water the first morning of our stay, and I noticed there was tape (not duct tape, brown tape) wrapped around the drain pipe leading to the trap! The shower curtain rod was badly bent, and the anchors at either end were loose in the wall. There were spackle spots next to each anchor, and I realized when I took a shower that the tub is so slippery many people must have grabbed the curtain instead of the safety bar, which explains why the anchors were pulled out of the wall! The front desk personnel was always someone different from Friday night to Sunday when we went to talk to someone, and nothing was ever fixed. This location is badly in need of renovation and upgrading. There needs to be an overhaul of personnel (in terms of continuity and wanting to help), and the food needs to be HOT. The cost for 2 nights was outrageous compared to the condition and service of this hotel, especially since we've experienced the Townplace Suites next door.

Stayed for one night. Hotel is adequate but over-priced for what you get (but seems to be best option around). This property is a franchise and it feels like it - an average hotel with a Hilton logo slapped on the side. Staff don’t seem to realize they work at a hotel. Front desk on Monday was much better - appropriately professional, wearing a nametag, etc.
Making it a pleasant hotel seems like an afterthought. Like the big trash can left in the middle of a hallway the whole time we were there.

A lot of people book at Homewood Suites because of the nicely sized and furnished rooms and also the free hot breakfast and dinners during the week.
This does not exist here. There is no managers special for dinners and there isn’t even any hot breakfast. It is just a bottom tier continental breakfast. Plain bagels, bread, cereal, and some squished looking boiled eggs from a package.
Also rooms felt super cheap and just overall the place feels like a much much cheaper hotel

Tawanda at the front desk went above and beyond to make our stay easy and comfortable with the loss of our mother. She had a cancellation of a desired room and called me back proactively to let me know it was now available. At the front desk Christina and Tawanda were wonderful at check in and the sales dept worked miracles to get the family of 9 rooms all in the same area even with the hotel being 100% booked. The staff made the trip a great experience!

Horrible horrible horrible. Avoid like the plague. Booked an extended stay and left quickly for elsewhere.
I’ll keep this short and sweet:
1. Filthy and just downright dirty. See the pictures attached. Mold, dirt, dust, general filth. The bathroom and kitchen were hot messes. As was the hvac. 2. No Covid precautions whatsoever but they try to push an overall reduction in service (including housekeeping) as “for the customers benefit”. 2. Worn and damaged rooms with peeling paint 3. Missing room amenities in the suite kitchen 4. Noise. Inside and out. Guests. Friends of the front desk and neighborhood. Warehouse traffic from the same industrial complex as the hotel. Cheaply made building. Unruly screaming guests for several hours one night were never even dealt with while we were there. Thankfully we were already checking out early the next morning. 5. Lousy breakfast 6. Horrible, slow, unreliable WiFi. Forget about working from here or even connecting to check emails on your phone for that matter 7. Unresponsive housekeeping despite multiple requests even directly through the GM, who was equally rude and unhelpful on any issues 9. This place should not even carry the Hilton label.

I’ve stayed many times at this hotel before, during the early days and current state of Covid. The staff is always great and the property is always clean. The hotel saw minor (if any) price increases over the years until now. The price seems to have increased while the complimentary breakfast has turned into little more than a continental one. Unfortunately I’ll be looking for better options at this point.

Hi 274edward...., Homewood Suites - Rockaway has a complete laundry facility, indoor swimming pool and so much more to make your stay comfortable and memorable! I sure recommend the facility. If you need anything just ask for Anthony the General Manager.
