Spacious Skies Country Oaks Campground rests within the countryside of the Pine Barrens region of southern New Jersey, just an hour from Philadelphia and Wilmington, DE, and only 30 miles from the Atlantic City boardwalk. Find peace at our campground which is due south of the Wharton State Forest and surrounded by other wildlife management areas that dot the protected ecoregion. We offer back-in and pull through sites that can accommodate all sized RVs and trailers! Each site includes a picnic table, fire ring, 30 or 50-amp electrical service, and sewer. We have deluxe patio sites and some rustic cabins too! Delightfully, our campground happens to be surrounded by a number of designated wildlife management areas (WMAs)-Tuckahoe, Maple Lake, and Menantico Ponds to name a few! These areas are popular for hiking/walking, fishing, kayaking, and birding opportunities abound!

Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My family and I stayed here for 3 days. We lucked up and found the reservation here close to our travel dates. It's quiet but nice. We stayed right near the pool, basketball court, playground, and jumping pad. These were amenities my family appreciates so it was great.

There was advertised to be an arcade but it wasn't open during our stay due to remodeling. The pool did close at 7pm most nights but on Saturday we were able to go to a night swim which was awesome.

All in all I'd recommend this campground.

This campground is a perfect fit for fun, relaxation, activities, plus a great pool for adults and a splash pool for the kids all rolled into a tranquil country setting!
The sites are nicely sized and most have full hook ups that are situated until a bounty of tall oak trees.
This campground is clean and well kept, and you’re welcomed by a very cordial and accommodating, MsSadie, the general manager! The staff here are all quite obviously present, knowledgeable and efficient for anything that is needed during your stay!
Highly recommend Spacious Skies Country Oaks for a safe and reasonably priced retreat!

We were just told we were RED FLAGGED at the campground and not allowed to camp there. And, this is why:

In 2011, Hurricane Irene forced us to cancel our weekend site. We live at the shore and the roads were closed and a state of emergency was declared. PEople who went a day early to this campground were evacuated out.

we then called to get our deposit back and had to debate the above issues, but finally got it back. It was not our fault we could not go.

Now, they have the NERVE to say we are not allowed in the campground.

what is this world coming to, I thought we lived in a free country. We did nothing wrong, it was the Hurricanes fault

Giving this campground a 3 star rating because the people who run it are very nice and the pool was very clean. But the sites are very slender and right on top of each other. We had nice neighbors on one side and an empty site on the other, so that helped.

The bathrooms were pretty nasty. They didn't have a door so every bug around could wander in. And this place was BUGGY. I know, it's camping so I really can't complain about bugs but this place was crazy, loaded with bugs of all different sorts. It was bizarre. So you can imagine the bug menagerie in the bathroom without a door or at least screen door.

Camp store was very small but was decently stocked. $10 security deposit for security key card was easily returned. Again, the staff was very pleasant.

Dogs need to be walked across the main street near the train tracks. Not too far.

The place needs a good sprucing and some updating. It feels like nothing major has been done for the last 30 years. The entire area felt like we were in some kind of time warp.

It was an ok place to drop down for a night or two but we would not visit again.

We used to go to this campground every holiday and we loved it here. Last Labor Day when we went to book our favorite sites for next Memorial Day, we got there before the exact time we were told that we were permitted to book to guarantee our sites, the lady at the reservations desk had already given our sites to someone else. After we were promised that no one could book before that time. And I know that we were not late or that anyone got there before us because we could see the office from our campsite and no one got there before us. We felt totally screwed! And we used to be regulars and have not been there since.

My family has camped seasonal since 1992. All of those years through 2013 were at the same place - a different campground which we watched go from privately owned, to corporately owned and managed by a family that cared, to a manager who was there to collect a paycheck and rarely present or available.
That said - I worked for a company that sold RV's - got a catalog of all NJ campgrounds. We spent two weekends checking places out - our two main concerns, proximity to home/work and PRIVATE OWNERSHIP. Country Oaks scored high on both counts. I will not dispute that some of the facilities are dated, however, they are all immaculate all the time. We first looked on a Sunday early in the afternoon, mid-summer - when all the weekenders just left - restrooms, pool area and laundry facilities were spotless. Seasonal sites are fairly sized and priced better than most facilities in the area. Pool is more than large enough to accommodate a full campground. Weekend activities are plentiful and change enough from weekend to weekend to keep the kids on their toes. Theme weekends have great participation.
Also - it's a short, maybe 20 minute ride to Ocean City if you like the beach, boardwalk and rides. I can't say enough good about this place - been there for two seasons and can't wait to go back.

If you are looking for peace and quite this your your place. They have lots of activities for both kids and adults. We had a great long weekend as we always do when we come here. Bob and Lynn the owners do a great job of making you feel welcome and taking care of what ever you may need. The Campground was already pretty great but this year they upgraded the cable and also put wifi thru out the campground. Not to mention they added more pull thru sites. The rates here are about the cheapest you will find around. So if you have never been here do yourself a favor and give them a call and make a reservation. I guaranty you will be glad you did.
